Any country could have tall buildings, wide street or subway, if the government could have almost unlimited loans from banks, this is how China did it. But the consequence now is, China is in DEEP debt trap, more than US$100 trillion.
The railway network connecting the east and west continents during the founding of the United States in the 17th and 18th centuries was also a credit to Chinese workers at that time, but it was not recognized by the U.S. government. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese laborers died in order to build these railway networks. There are also a large number of mining plants.
What the United States has returned to these Chinese is the only act issued by the United States government in the history of systematic racial discrimination, that is, the Chinese Exclusion Act, which is one of the most tragic things in the world.
All true... But the Chinese were the ones hung over the cliffs to set dynamite or sent into the tunnels with nitro Thevwestbis where they ran into the real mountains I saw a Canadian Government video that said there was 1 dead Chinese person for every kilometer of track that was laid

It’s so touching I can watch the video about my city, especially it’s nearby my home when I was a child. Everything is so similar to my memory. I don’t know why but I can feel tears in my eyes.
Can't believe how far Beijing and China has come in reducing air pollution. I've been there twice, once in 1989 and again in 1996 and both times the yellow smog was obvious. Now it's just BLUE SKY!!!! Plan on visiting next year, hopefully!!!
In fact, more than 20 years ago, after joining the international environmental agreement, China voluntarily closed down polluting enterprises, began large-scale tree planting, and shifted its industry towards new energy
Beijing pollution was probably worst around 2013-2015. But as with anything in China, a year is an eternity. By 2017 it was already pretty decent and COVID just gave more impetus to clear things up. Keep in mind yellow smog is more than likely the Gobi desert rolling in. That is more of a consequence of the "great green wall" they've been planting.
Have been there, twice during the 5 years, and according to the locals, the pollution isnt really pollution but mostly the smog blowing from inland especially from the desert on the west of Beijing. Therefore you will certaintly see the sky super dark and grayish months periodically during the year in Beijing. Pollution is a thing, but not as dramatic as what the western news would say.
I wanna say thanks to the vloggers, thank you for subscribing China to others. As a Chinese student currently studying in the UK, I have to say I love your videos so much, I am super looking forward to see the next video!

Public security and people's livelihood management are also among the best large countries in the world. With a population of 1.5 billion, the crime rate is only 4%, which is even far lower than that of small countries like Japan and South Korea.
I lived in China for almost 8 years! It was amazing experience! I miss it so much, the different types of cuisine, landscapes, the people are super friendly and most important is sooo safe! ❤💛
Glad to see you guys enjoyed yourselves, and great weather too. I know the feeling when you have heard/learned about a place so many times from the news and finally being there, which is very different. There is a lot to see in Beijing-The Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Sanlitun (modern shops), among many other places.😊
We went last year, after China opened its border again. First visit to China too. We did our research before hand. We downloaded the pay apps, arrange our internet access with our local network providers, change some cash first, arrange debit card facilities with our banks . Lines at the airport were very orderly (but the officers sure were strict, tho' courteous). Everything later was quite a breeze, shopping, shows, tourist sites etc..Whatsapp etc. all work well. And yes, we knew to keep our passports with us all the time. I already knew everything in China will be huge, literally. I have seen enough travel videos. But what I really did not expect and really surprised me was the quietness. The sheer number of cars, motorcycles, cyclists and people on the streets of Beijing and Shanghai and yet, it just felt like a background hum. I think cutting all those noises really reduces the stress of city living. I lived in a moderate size city and I am used to the noise produced by cars and trucks, honkings and tootings, motorcycles revving when out on the streets. There were many other things that amazed me - the size of each meals, the efficiency (my goodness, you could order take-outs from your phones while in the train and the food will be at the next train station for collection), the cleanliness, even in the back lanes of the city, the number of bicycles for rent parked on every curb. I am already thinking of my next trip and I want to explore.
China is very, very diverse. Beijing is great. Shanghai is great. Shanghai is nothing like Beijing. Similarly for many other cities such as Chongqing, Xi'an, Guangzhou, Harbin, Kashgar, etc. You could spend years exploring all of China and *never get bored!*
Welcome to China guys! Hopefully, this trip will help you guys see China in a whole different light! Maybe, even in a brighter one! Happy New Year, have fun and stay safe.
Welcome to travel to China! Western countries and anti-China media have false reports on China. You can experience it in person when you go to China. The Chinese people are kind and friendly, and the society is stable without any insecurity... You will know everything through your own experience!
I have traveled to alot of Countries and I have always wanted to travel to China. I do not listen to the media because it is bias and it is looking to paint the wrong image of people's cultures. I always ask people from those countries what it is like to travel there because I know that I will get an educated answer. I hope to one day visit China!
I have watched several videos of UA-camrs traveling around the world and no other city in any other country surpasses this city in comparison to the following cities in China. These cities are Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Tianjin. These cities are characterized by their wealthy people, sophisticated cityscapes and futuristic architecture, and societies that have embraced the latest technologies. These cities are some of the most attractive cities in this world today.

The best about traveling in China is foreigner regardless of which country you are from, color of your skin, male or female, in a group or alone and language you are speaking. You can travel to anywhere freely, safely and happily without much worry of anyone coming to bother you. There won't be any touting people following you, pestering you and want to be your sightseeing guide, pestering you to bring you go shopping with them, taxi or those trishaw riders want to show you around and they are all trying to scam you. I has experienced in China west neighbor country "I". You can't even walk freely in their city. Many touting people keep following you pestering you to be your sightseeing guide, pestering you to bring you go shopping with them, taxi or those trishaw rider want to show you around and all trying to scam you. You hardly can have the freedom of enjoying yourself. I have been to many China cities and never a time I have met touting people. You are free to enjoys your holiday without anyone bothering you.
How desperate China wants foreign visitors!😂 but the reality is: there are much more foreign visitors in India than China. NO one wants to go to China, except those who do not know the truth just yet, or invited by CCP affiliates as a useful propaganda.
I = India. Don't be shy . I am from India originally (US citizen now). There is no comparison between the 2 neighboring nations. One is dirty, poor, crime ridden, horrible infrastructure, chaotic, dangerous for women and the other is a leading global power rising to the top with impressive security law & order. My kids go clubbing in Shanghai till 4 am and walk to our apartment in safety and peace. Even in US I would not let them do that. In India, my daughter cannot wear shorts or low skirts comfortably in public - people stare at her and her western friends. India will never catch up to China, sad but true.

One common "trick" to know whether the foods will taste good whenever you are in a foreign place, is to judge by how crowded the place is. The more crowded it is, the better the chances of how good the foods will be.

Can't believe how far Beijing and China has come in reducing air pollution. I've been there twice, once in 1989 and again in 1996 and both times the yellow smog was obvious. Now it's just BLUE SKY!!!! Plan on visiting next year, hopefully!!!
We actually didn’t feel any air quality issues at all, especially after SE Asia!
@@user-tx1zo7bn5i that is a fog, you animal.

You guys' enthusiasm is so contagious - makes me want to go to Beijing, too!

You hardly can have the freedom of enjoying yourself. I have been to many China cities and never a time I have met touting people. You are free to enjoys your holiday without anyone bothering you.
