will the white indicator light come on if you attach to a car battery even if it doesnt need to be boosted? the reason im asking is bc we recently had -40 degree weather and it killed my car, i purchased this but never seen after the weather warmed up if my car would start; so i just automatically boosted it without checking first. So I am curious about that if you would know?

How long will the charge last if you leave it in your car for months?

I'm super happy with my Noco GB40, used it lots of times, but now I have a reliable 'new' car battery, and the starter is sitting idle in the trunk.
Question: do I need to 'condition' the Noco jump starter by draining it once in a while, like charging my tablet or smartphone with it?
I haven't used it in over a year now and I want it to be ready for use...
    Any answers out there????
    Thanks.
(I'm so happy I'm just about looking for stranded motorists, who need a boost.

So never overcharge or overdrain, best to never leave it too close to the bottom or top. Charge it and leave it. Use it every once and a while, also make sure to never leave it empty for longer than a week. Might never recharge. I've gotten through 2 power banks and 2 wireless earphones be cause of this :(
Also something most people dont pay attention to is making sure to not damage the unit, they literally can lose charge forever from damage and a small hit can mean it wont charge much at all.

this bullshit can`t crank a small 1.9 diesel engine, and people here claim they started 3.5L v6(the device being rated for maxim 3L) engines, come one guys.....with the device fully charged i managed to try only for 4 time respecting the 10-15 min cool downs between the tries after the 4th time the device drained completely .My car battery was only holding around 11v and the temperatures here variates this time between 10-23* Celsius, this engine didnt had problem starting with wires from other cars when my battery sat wor 3-4 weeks. After seeing all the videos on the internet i was so optimistic, i really believed it will really work. Just try for you self to see if it works

Your engine was most likely seized from the cold not from dead battery 😅
