I’ve had the Stanley 1000 for five years and it still works impeccable. The air compressor I thought would lack power but my son got a flat out on a dirt road in the country. I went out there two minutes he had 35 pounds of air in his tire , awesome unit.
I just want to thank you for this video. I have used my little Lithium ion jumper pack for several years now. Has saved me so much hassle. But today I was not working. I found your video and the over-ride button on my pack and it worked. Thank you!
I bought the GB40 just today on sale for $150. Yeah, it’s old. No USB-C. But it was virtually dead out of the package and still managed to start my dead car in the parking lot without any fuss. As boost boxes go, it might not have all the bells and whistles, but it does what it says it does, and I wouldn’t doubt it’d fire over a 6L engine if it’s battery is down to 2V, so it’s still excellent imo. 🤷♂️
@@ladyshiva69I was thinking also you can easily be the angel to other people if you ever run across someone with a dead battery what a quick and cool surprise to help!

My daughter rushed to our rescue with her Jump starter. Clips would not fit our 2018 Explorer. Called for help and guy showed up with one of the Nocos.. Worked. Been meaning to buy 2 for a while and keep forgetting to. I know one day I will remember!🦇

Can anyone tell me this? I have a 2008 Subaru Legacy and I bought the NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000A and it doesn't work when I take out my battery and put it across the leads coming from my car and put it on emergency low voltage bypass. However I tried it on other cars and it works perfectly. Is there something about Subaru Legacies that they would not allow a Battery Pack jump starter to start it? Some kind of protection in it stopping it from doing that?
Make sure the cables have a good bit on the terminals. Try finding a better ground. Like a metal bolt on the engine for better ground. Clean the terminals. You can spray with brake cleaner.
@@arthursmith643 Thanks man!!!! My Mechanc said that it is supposed to be just an "ASSIST" or support. He said you really should Jumpstart without a battery and if I'm doing it that way to start the car I would need a higher Amperage Jumpstarter.
own a worthless Michelin Portable Jump Starter from Costso, it's always dead when I need it. what good is a Jumpstarter if it can't hold power? can't hold a charge for more than a month. like having an emergency gas can with a pinhole leak
is jump starting a car bad for the car battery? i'm having to jump start mine every month since i don't drive alot, and it seems to have some trouble starting sometimes.
You need to buy a cheap battery tender and leave that connected to your battery while the car sits. Then your car is always ready to go and you’re not stressing the battery.
While a battery tender is a good idea if your parked near an electrical outlet I didn't have this option so ......... a battery disconnect switch on the *NEGATIVE* cable / post will keep parasitic drains from depleting your battery. Been using it on my plow truck for years.
Noco gb40 can start my 4.0 litre ford from cold with no battery in it at all. It's got the juice and seems to be built better than most other units I've picked up.

I'll agree! But, for about $10 less you can get the Top Vision or Imazing which in some tests even out performed the Audew. I won't knock the Audew but you can get an at least equally good unit for less money.

why is the noco so expensive? I just need it for emergency if passenger car battery dies. My friends COSTCO one jumped my dead battery in seconds and he had it stored and never used in his car for about a year. Costco one is 1/3 the price. I do appreciate quality and will pay a premium if something is worth it.
None of these meet my needs. I want more power to start a larger truck v8 or diesel, and have several requirements. Your review recommended starters for the average car or smaller SUV.
As a Battery Tech for AAA...I personally recommend the Yesper Armor. It's rated at 3000amps and easily jumps dual battery diesel trucks. Price vs Performance....it out performs the NOCO GB70 at half the cost. As I write this....it's currently selling on Amazon for $80. Just purchased one for the wife's car today.

This is a video for 2023, why are you reviewing the 5-6 year-old NOCO Boost Plus GB40 instead of the newer GB45X? That one even includes a USB-C.
