Eric Wind represents so much of what I love about Hodinkee and the watch hobby in general! Buying what you love, scholarship about your passion, understanding hype, but not being governed by it. More of this, please!
boy oh boy.....I love watches but listening to this makes me feel a bit dirty....self promotion, fear, illusion of scarcity and market manipulation all wrapped in faux authenticity!! "We do not know the service history, but it is running great!".....that is just simply embarrassing from one who claims to be an authority......spend the money on an in-house craftsman and stand behind your product and passion.
You have not changed at all... Ben does a mea culpa... one week later you interview Eric to emphasize on Heuers... the day before or your collaboration with Tag Heuer launches.
Mmm, Eric’s philosophy at 24:18 bugs me. Why would you gatekeep a piece from a customer who actually desires to use and abuse a piece? You may view them as investments or as collection pieces but at the end of the day it’s a watch. More respect to the clients that do put some wear into them after 6 months.

Loved this episode. Always great to hear Eric’s input on the watch market.
A gripping conversation betwixt two of the GOATs!!! Why’d it have to end?
I just realized Eric Wind has the same voice as Cleveland from Family Guy
That’s terrrrable!

Great ep and great to have Mr Wind back on - glory days 👊🏼

One suggestion would be to go full screen with the video and eliminate the border.

Eric is the man.
I didn’t know Tom Hanks was so knowledgeable about watches.
3940 🙌🏼
I hate the zoom call format. The talk watches is the only format that is enjoyable for me.
Hodinkee needs EW back!!!
He sounds like the box factory guy from The Simpsons.
Hodinkee est passé 😢

Could not agree more.....the dude only cares about one single watch related thing.....THE MONEY!!
@@tampapete7954 it’s giving me the ick 🤷
Because he respects the pieces and hopes others would too
@@jorjoperalta Interesting interpretation of Respect. I would argue wearing a watch is respecting it and keeping it in a safe is being disrespectful.
@@prehistoricpig noone' taking about keeping it in a safe, just being careful with it while you wear it
Who cares about that boring game get to Watches please
