What a voice. Sorry for those who never got to hear her. RIP Ms.
Branigan
My Angel Laura, i will always love you,forever,R.i.p.Laura God take good care of her❤❤😢😢
They are hearing her, her records are forever🎉😮
she was spectacular. vocally, off the charts in range. dominated the charts. left music to care for her husband when he had colon cancer. returned afterwards, only to tragically suddenly die of an aneurysm in 2004. all time fave.
Man she had a great voice!!!
Her voice still gives me goosebumps! Damn, I miss the 80s.😢😢
It was the very best time for music. Lots more freedom. Life not so serious as it is now. 1980s music ruled and still rules
Can we go back to the 80s PLEASE‼️FOREVER ‼️
I agree. This century is boring and dumb
What do you mean? I never left.
@@Anna_Meg the 1980s are from the 20th century along with the 1990s
I'm good!!! I barely survived the 80's. 😱
Definitely!😊
i so crushed on Laura Branigan! Beauty and what a Voice!
R.I.P. Laura! She was the Celine Dion of the 80’s! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
The pipes on this woman. And no mechanical manipulation? Breathtaking. 2:40
No effects, no autotune. Thats the way they made at 80's!
Legendary! Her voice was the best and this song showcases that! Gone too soon! Gives me goosebumps listening to this and her music!!
Still here 2024! Beautiful voice. Rip 🌹🙏
I'm still here in 2024. Was there in the 1980s listening to this great singer.
Her #7 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 from the summer of 1983
Laura has always been one of my very favourites. Such passion put into her tunes.
She was so gorgeous AND talented!!!
I first saw her on tv around this time, wearing a sweater that fell off one shoulder, tight pants, and leg warmers, and she was just the most beautiful and amazing singer. I was instantly in love. I immediately bought the first two albums and was addicted for years. I was heartbroken when I heard she'd died. She lives on forever in my heart, and I'll always love her music, too. Such a unique and special woman.
And those sexy freckles on her shoulder
Parece que pessoas boas duram pouco ,porque será??
Laura was a modern version of a "Castrato" = a castrated male singer, as are many "female" stars. We now refer to them as transgender, but it's certainly nothing new.
@@neintoten6155Laura Branigan was NOT transgender! NOT that there's anything wrong with being transgender! She was quite straight AND she was happily married (to a man) for MANY years (until his passing).
@Lisa-rq1ff ,It was Laura that passed away not her husband
I do believe she could break glass with her power of projection and she could hold the notes forever~!! Someone special for sure and we will always have her music to continue to love her~!!
God Bless Laura Branigan. She had that amazing voice that will never be duplicated. Artists like her come around once in a lifetime. Just like Karen Carpenter.
Miss them both deeply.
You said an artist like her comes around once in a lifetime.
Then you name a comparable artist from the same lifetime.
I loved this song growing up and I still love it. RIP Laura!
Brilliant Song. God Bless Laura Branigan as always since August 26, 2004, when she passed away at the age of 52.
She was still young, what a loss to us who loved her music. I fell in love when I listened to Oh Though The Night my younger brother John and I fell in love with her music.
I love the 80’s and 90’s music, The best ! ❤
Gave POWER SINGER a whole new definition. I wore that 8 track out many times.
The lyrics are so deep! It's about moving on and feeling the pain of still being in love.
Laura loved this song, she performed it at almost every show
FYI - The final note is a mere two seconds shy of the world record for longest note held by a female singer in a pop song, which is held by Donna Summer in "Dim All the Lights" (which was covered by Branigan in 1995). She is missed.
Bet she could of hit it. Likely had no idea?
She gets my emotions I listened to her how am I supposed to live without you 35146 times to deal with my pain.
Wait a second, are you sure? How about Cindy Lauper's version of All Through The Night?
Donna Summer's MacArthurs Park.
Sadly missed taken too soon. This song is simply one of Lauras best songs RIP
What a voice ! 2024
Pure power in that voice. This song never gets old.
R I p Laura she had one truly magnificent voice
"Laura Brannigan, and Olivia Newton-John,my favorite female pop singers! Miss them, and those great voices...ALWAYS!!♥️🎶♥️🎶
If there's a Rock n Roll Heaven.... Rightous Brothers
And Scientology killed them.
Me luara branigan olivia newton john and whitney houston
And Donna Summer@@aversondelosreyes15
It's amazing that this song is forgotten. You'd think a song as dramatic as this would be more iconic.
If I had one wish.... To live back in the 1980's..... Branigan on the radio in '84, better way of life, hands down the era of most fun, GREATEST GENERATION!
I'm embarrassed by the Generation we live in. What happened to fun, music, people's live w/o technology?
Who's with me?
Laura was a beautiful singer, I'm 54 and still listening to her and others from the good Ol 80s
Me too! God bless the 80's!
No reason to ever stop.
I've never heard a voice like hers before or since.
She has resonance like I've never heard in my entire life she literally has a song called shattered glass and I think she could.
She doesn't mix voice very well but her chest voice is louder than anything I've ever heard it almost borders on screaming but it's so powerful and her breathing control is excellent.
Rip laura branigan what a legend she was
I wish she would be alive today .she will always be a great singer .
@Calpurnia L hindsight
Happy Birthday to Laura Branigan! Your legacy lives on
What a beautiful person and musician who brought so much grace and joy to the world, blessing us with a trove of fantastic music and videos.
@Calpurnia L There was no internet back then. The only music most got to hear was on the radio and a lot of us kids didn't listen to the radio. Still I remember her and her appearance on C.H.I.P.S Always loved her music, she had such a strong and powerful voice one can never forget. I was saddened deeply when I heard she died, I even remember where i was when I found out.
It's 2024 and I still love this song. What a beautiful and powerful voice ❤❤
She is fantastic!
Can we all acknowledge that Laura's was quite good at silent acting? Just her skill to effectively emote without any dialogue...wow! She was a natural!
Loved this song and her. 80’s music was the best. Always related music to the guys I dated. I grew up in the 80’s. I was about 15/16
She was an awesome singer with a powerful voice! Gone way too soon!
What a voice and that last nite at the end!!!
This was Diane Warren's first song to chart. Reached #7 on the Hot 100 and #16 on the adult contemporary chart.
I have a neurological condition called synaesthesia where I see colours associated with sound. Usually it's too dim to see in daylight, but if I'm asleep or it's dark I can see the colours. My clock radio went off during this song and I got to see the sounds at 2:45 before I woke up. It looks like a sphere of green light with a surface that changes with the tones. It kind of looked like the surface of the sun but changing faster and green in colour. No drugs required with that condition to see colours in sound.
Interesting.
this woman can SING! and because she was so gorgeous her voice was incredibly underrated!
I forgot all about this song! She had way more than the hits I was remembering. She was such a GREAT singer. I was so in love with both "Gloria" and "Self Control".
So glad that I was reminded of this. That note she holds at the end? Goosebumps!!!
She also has hit single "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" (also from Branigan 2 album) and successful "The Lucky One" and "Spanish Eddie".
Satisfaction deserved to be a big hit as Self Control. Definitely one of her best songs.
@@danieldalton538 I guess you didn't see my comments on other videos. I already know all this. I was aware that she had done the Michael Bolton song before he released it himself.
I had just forgotten this particular track.
@@tod1way Glad to meet a soul mate. For me she is the one and only queen of the 80s. By the way her 1990 and 1993 albums are also great.
I loved Laura Branigan. I will miss her as well.
She had so many in top 100
So sad she left us to soon. So young besutiful lady outside and inside. So much talent. Precious soul and spirit and heart. We miss you soo much Laura. God rest your sweet soul. Lol. 😪😪💕💕💕🤗🤗🙏🙏
So Crazy How Things Change And Never Ever Change.
Laura, my Angel, i will always love you❤❤😢😢,R.i.p Laura Ann, GOD TAKE CARE OF HER💔💔😢😢😢Forever🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I miss you Laura, wish I was able to spend more time with you. You were so nice & kind hearted. You are truly missed. Seeing you perform “Gloria” at cousin Steve’s wedding is a memory that I will always treasure. RIP 💔
This is my favourite of Laura's songs
N'oublions pas de préciser que cette chanson a été écrite et interprétée en 1981 par Martine Clemenceau, chanteuse Française ! Laura Branigan en a fait un succès international.
Omg I forgot U sang this song beautiful lady gone to soon 😢😢 RIP THANKS FOR YOUR MUSIC LAURA ❤️❤️
Great Diane Warren song,
so miss the voice of Laura Branigan.
I love all of her songs what a voice RIP Laura
This Song Went To Number 7 On The Billboard Hot-100 Chart In 1983.
Its criminal that this woman NEVER had a #1 single
You are with us still QUERIDA
Rip to one of the best the 80's had to offer. Great voice. Deep songs.
Perhaps the greatest voice . XD
Yes, one million times over. She is greatly missed!

.
A beautiful woman with the most beautiful voice ever!!! I would rank her over Celine Dion any day
I had this song on 45 Single. Wish it was the 80s again when we had real music
Omg so do I. I so miss the 80s. I wanna build a time machine and take a one way trip
I miss the '80's too it seemed like such a carefree time. And yes, much ,much better music.
There is A LOT of music published every day oin every genre... if you don't think there is any good music being made that is on you for not looking and finding it. Yah there is garbage to sort through but there are lots of living artists rn that desperately need support from fans to survive because they didn't suck off the music industry literally or elsewise to get a record.. they just made the music and shared it with the world because of the love for it. SO PLZ LOOK AROUND n find the music instead of this lazy cop out "nO goOd MuSak"
@Jason Lawrence snell Yes I Loved Her Music
This song still gives me the chills! She had an amazing voice and talent.
love this song................
❤ retro greetings from coastal Mississippi. Loved this song and video. RIP Laura
During the mid-80's I was working a weekend gig in radio. When this came up in rotation, especially late at night, about the 2:15 mark I began to crank up the output on the control board, and by the time it hit the 2:30 mark, I had it up to the max, and the studio monitors also up to max, and the needles on the audio gauges were really dancing. The 3:00 mark had it all maxxed out through the bridge. The guitar and bass was great!!
I hope she lives on in the hearts of all the people who are able to let karma take care of rejection.
One of my favorite songs of all time! Definitely my favorite Laura track!
I prefer Self Control
Laura was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. As a boy I loved her so much and still love her today in my manhood. Creepy it may seem but I will always have a special place for Laura in my heart.
Me too
It's not creepy. I feel the same!
Not creepy at all.
God, how I miss her!!
💔😢🙏🏼🙏🏼
Damn that woman could sing. And damn was she beautiful.
This was Laura Branigan's best song. This song pierces the soul.
Laura's vocal pitch is astounding.
Very unique voice!

It was a cover of a french artist of Martine Clemenceau !
So sad she died of an aneurysm. Got to tell ya, listening to her hit those high notes...I'm about to get one!!
Damn, Laura had a powerful voice.
Laura Branigan had the most powerful voice. One in a million.
Donna Summer had the best voice of that era.
@@raygordonteacheschess5501he didn't say best he said most powerful read before you talk out your ass
Her voice is so unique what a beautiful and talented woman ❤️
Beauty & talent rolled into one total package!
She's a angel of God
On this day remembering you and forever. RIP Laura Ann Branigan (July 3, 1952 - August 26, 2004)
Beautiful woman incredible talent, we will never hear another one like her -very sad.
In 2023 this song still moves me and makes me cry Laura had that emotional impact on me all these years later
One of my favorite singers of the 80s. I felt so sad when I heard she passed. Thanks for the great songs Laura! 🙏🏿❤️
Gawd she sends chill down my spine when she is belting out “Solitaire”. I still listen to her songs. I also fantasizes bout being her lover. She is freakin beautiful
I really miss you Laura
She was just as beautiful as her voice was! 😉
In the mid 90's I went to see a big 80's revival concert that was put on by 95.5 WPLJ in New York City. Laura Branigan was there and was one of the best acts of the night. She sounded and looked great and put on an excellent performance. I dont think she sang this particular song, but she did sing several of her hits. Little did I know, that would be the last time I'd ever see her on stage. I also had no idea that by the 2020's, WPLJ would also be gone.
On my UA-cam channel I have video of her at a WPLJ show in Flushing Meadows Park, it was 1990 though so maybe not the one you were at. She did a lot of events with WPLJ.
So gifted, so talented. Gone much too soon! RIP one of my favorite 80's singers.
Rest in peace Laura B. Your soul is with Jesus and God
What a voice
an angel in the earth that left too soon this terrenal world...but her soul and voice is eternal in inmortal songs....
Rest In Peace Laura Branigan ❤💕🎼🎵🎶🎤😪😓😢😭
I cannot forget that She came here in Seoul 1980's
I still love her voice and songs
RIP Laura Branigan
Лора, ти найкраща співачка!!
I miss her since she's been gone
i LOVED this woman!!!!! She was beautiful and SO talented!!!! her voice was so wonderful and she was VERY underrated too. Miss her so much!!!!!!
Laura Branigan was one of the greatest performers that ever lived in the 80's she will awlways greatly be loved and missed RIP Laura ❤❤❤
She's in heaven now singing for GOd our father now
So good. Had this goin at my work gym the other day. It is all dudes that early.. and a colleague who works nearby came in and was so excited that I knew this tune. Later we laughed about how it is a chick flick song but still so good.. 🎉 I remember hearing it in the early 80s and didn't know what it was about. I believe she sang a song in Flashdance (Gloria) and that was a big deal here in PGH, PA. Always on at the grocery store!!!hahaha. A good warning song for wandering guys! When I was a boy I thought she was singing solitary and didn't understand. How cool to connect the music in the brain with it's memories to the lyrics and understand the meaning
Oh my goodness I had forgotten how gorgeous this song is!!! 💞
Laura really knew how to belt out a song beautifully.
Such a beautiful voice and a beautiful and classy lady. RIP Laura you are not forgotten.
one of my favorite songs from 1982. my favorite laura branigan song.
1983: I was playing Laura on radio from the beginning. She and producer Jack White had a knack for finding European hits, putting English lyrics to them and making huge hits over here. Laura's powerhouse vocals and her just being so adorable made you fall in love with her. I still am. Be at peace, darlin'.
