- Remember about 10 years ago when a bunch of Mega Man games like Mega Man Universe and Legends 3 were cancelled? Well now we can add Mega Man Star Force 4 to that list of titles that almost were a thing a decade ago, but were unfortunately canned. Recently Protodude of Rockman Corner obtained official concept artwork and story details that paints a picture of what Geo Stelar would have gotten up to in this cancelled sequel, along with... Lan Hikari's descendant!? Watch on for the details!

There were actually sales of the games in europe... There was just completely zero advertising. Unless you are an active fan, or lucky enough to find it in a local store, chances are you wouldn’t even know it was a thing.

That story would've been SUPER intriguing. Not only would we have seen an all-new side of Geo, going against the law that he previously majorly assisted with taking down Dealer, but we would have also had dilemmas with his friends. What would Sonia think? Would she have sided with Geo? What about Ace? Would he be on the search for Geo as well, or gone rogue (no pun intended) out of Satella Police to help him?
That would've been absolutely INSANE.

As a huge fan of the Star Force series, I am FAR more bitter about this being cancelled than I am Legends 3, because I've been waiting years and years for Star Force 4 to be made, and it never came. Now that I know it was being made and was cancelled, I am not very happy about it and wish it was ultimately made.

@@Evil_Beauty It was rushed too, and shows the franchise fatigue that was overtaking Mega Man at the time. The worst part is that not only was it the last hurrah for the Network Timeline (Battle Network and Star Force), but was pretty much the last Mega Man game released for well over half a decade, excluding ports such as the Legacy Collections. It was, by all means, the franchise killer.
@@Evil_Beauty It's because Capcom is money hungry which explains their horrible attempt of a StarForce and Battle network crossover (basically BN1 and throwing in StarForce in the very end) which subsequently caused the franchise to die.

Hacking in SF4 might have been like a disrupt system, on how you can deny enemy attacks more easily, turn buffs into de-buffs, steal card data maybe idk, quite the interesting approach

@@pixman2581 Well that doesn't mean we're going to get THIS Star Force 4 if Capcom decides to continue the series. Chances are if they decide to continue Star Force that we'll get a completely different SF4 with a completely different story. I think we'll likely get X9 before that ever happens.

I’m not a fan of the Star Force serris but the fact that it’s canceled is just awful. The Lan/Geo gene line is pretty interesting.
Hearing that Geo, the one responsible for saving Earth four times (counting Apollo Flame story in 2's post game), and Planet FM from Sirius, become a wanted person definitely has me intrigued as to how the full story of the game would have been. Something drastic must have happened to Geo or someone close to him to walk down this path. Not to mention how Omega-Xis would react to this path choice, or maybe even Solo.

Maybe it would've been because something is going on with the government or the higher power in Star Force's world, and they're the villain, and that's why Geo's wanted?
Also, that can be supported by the background of the concept art, it's darker (tone-wise) and uses darker colors, look at the sky, it's purple, that could signify that the world isn't fair and safe anymore (this concept art is most certainly doing "show, don't tell" [because it's a concept art] so this makes more sense).
Note: I didn't play Star Force 3, just 1 and 2 a long time ago, so I could be missing something important that proves what I said is wrong, maybe? If so, please correct me.

Ok. Something I want to mention here is that just because Kazuma is a descendant of Lan Hikari, it doesn't discount Geo Stelar being a descendant, as well. It's possible that Kazuma, if he was looking into his family tree to find out more about it, he'd go looking for Geo when he sees that Geo is in the same family tree albeit a less direct branch. Hub.Batch in BN Operation Star Force is only compatible with anyone who shares Lan's DNA, from how it was described. So what if Geo and Kazuma were distant cousins?
But what if Kazuma was a descendant of Lan son Patch?
It could be that they both had the genetic adaptation of the dimensional field. Considering that there were others who liked lan. Guess they both were to exploit the old realm to hide since it has not been used in a long time. But I think that gonna reveal that megaman was corrupted and became an am em being because of being exposed so many times to cross fusion and his form degradation due to using the beast element being used to supplement his program stability. Guess we are gonna see time capsules of old heros returning to use dimensional world to come to reality in an attempt to engage the em beings.

I want a Starforce collection
A Star Force 4 that actually acknowledges BN continuity and makes Geo an outlaw? That sounds like a recipe for an amazing game. But unlike with Legends 3, I'm kind of ok with SF4 not existing, because SF3 gave the series a neat closure and is a brilliant game itself, so... This SF4 sounds very interesting, but its cancelation doesn't anger me.
Legend 3's was a bummer because L2 ended on a freaking cliff hanger, but SF3 is a good ending for its series
I personally loved Star force and never got why others didn't like it. Found it fun and refreshing from Battle Network Liked BN enough, but if I was asked to replay the games I would say no except for BN5 (The navi teams and missions were amazing, bought both copies).
I've watched watched UA-cam reviews of the games years later, but they sounded like nonsense and nick picking. Like how Gen wasn't smiling in SF1, where you know he was a depressed kid with issues getting close to others.
This artwork alone makes me want to play SF4. Would preorder it now if there an announcement.
Maybe to get people into the idea they should combine 1-3 into some collection edition for the Switch. Maybe some updates to 1 and 2 to be on par with 3. Also, do what they did in The World Ends With You, where they have a bonus chapter to promote the sequel.
I think fans didn't like the head on perspective or the forced social aspect of the Link Power. I hope they bring back the series with out needing Link Power.

They had a chance to make a Star Force 3 anime, but they missed it and I knew they would years ago because the Star Force 2 anime only lasted 21 episodes. This was back when the releases of Mega Man games began to falter.
That would be cool but I have no hope of that happening
Honestly I'd rather they just reboot the entire anime. I could probably write a better script than the original anime had. Have it follow the games plot more closely. Actually include the character arcs in the story, and update the animation with more modern style. The franchise has so much potential if they could execute an anime correctly and take a lesson from MHA, Naruto, Dragonball for arc finales and boss battles.

I see Geo looks like in his mid teens, he looks funny with muscles tbh. To be honest, the Starforce games grew dark like the X series. Starforce 3 being the darkest from the 2 previous.
Starforce is my top Megaman series, i have Pegasus and black Ace on my DS. If we had hacking on the game, it would of been like we can use the viruses to our advantage. As for Geo doing illegal things with Lan's descendant, i bet the guy wanted to know more about his bloodline or wanted to stop a group of hackers from doing crimes, but both got caught.

For some reason the theme seems well balanced for pvp and pve content. At the same time, who knows if Capcom planned on making it more broken than noise. Also, remember Battle Network Chrono X?
Chrono X is loosely canon unintentionally, there happened to be instead a Stelar in Lan Hikari's time as the interpretation.

Given this was meant to be a follow up to the crossover game. This might have been related to Megaman.EXE. something may have happened to him during the 200 year time skip. Which might be why they are messing around with the undernet.

The one thing I’m a bit skeptical about regarding this is that StarForce 3’s ending actually ended on a really happy note, with Kelvin finally making it home. I’m just hoping that if they do go through with Geo being an outlaw in the game, then the reasons why and how would make sense as a transition.

I'm a much bigger fan of the battle network series but hearing now that there is an actual descendant of Lan Hikari in this supposed 4th sequel got me interested. I would definitely like a starforce game on the Switch.

I'm also surprised that Operation Shooting Star did bad because all it was is just an updated version of EXE1 with Star Force that did very little. Is it any wonder why Operation Shooting Star never got released overseas.

The main reason why I still hold a grudge against Capcom: cancelling Mega Man games, especially Legends 3, that would have pleased fans and get hundreds of people excited, but cancelled because of “Fans not wanting to support Mega Man.” or because of “reasons”.
Megaman Starforce 3 sold quite poorly. The issue is simply people say they want Megaman games, but the sales don't seem to back it up. Supporting Megaman for them to amke more games would require buying the games, just saying you want more Megaman games, wont help

Well, I think I would have been happier not knowing a follow-up to one of my favorite games could have happened and would have been amazing.
Man, I would of loved to have at least 1 more game to SF. The last one just didn't feel like a good ending.
I'm not sure how to feel about the story. Would have been cool for Geo to age, but I don't know about him being a criminal. Something bad most of happened after 4, for him to go down that path. Still, might have been fun.
The thing i am most curious about is how would megaman.exe character be played out because as a program he could outlive everyone in the human cast of BN and i imagine that would be kinda depressing,but i think he would still try to help even if he's an 200 year old program

Interesting! I always though that star force 3 was the proper ending to the series, because of the return of Geo's dad to Earth, and some other stuff. We all of us speculated that Geo was decendant of Lan, but it seems that nope (or maybe he still is, and he and this Cosma (?) are distant relatives, or something (being this a plot twist?)). It is interesting also the change of personality of Geo, from being so simple, cheerful, nice and good guy, and now looking at him as an underground wanted hacker after being a hero of heart... what a turn of events.
If Capcom revisite the concep of both Battle Network and Star Force, they can re take this canceled game and redoing it with a brand new megaman in a new era with new mechanics

i understand why capcom pulled the plug for this project since star force 3 didn't do good (maybe they should've marketed the game for people to know it was released). but i still can't understand why they pulled the plug on both universe and legends 3 especially when they decided to mock fans for not being part of devs room forum which they said we don't have to be part of it.

To be honest I feel conflicted about this. In one fact I was always wondering if a 4th game was ever a thing. On the other hand, I can’t deal with the fact that a 4th and possibly better starforce game was going to be released. I really hope that Capcom reconsider this. And ZX3 but not before starforce 4 though.
As much as I would love a SF4, I am gonna take this story with a grain of salt. After checking the website, it didn't really show proof or anything that this was leaked by 'the shadow'. Not even any quotes like for MM9. Just slapped a picture and say 'hey, this is what's suppose to happen' and it was discovered by 'this guy who may have not actually send it but we'll say he did so people don't question it'. And '10 years difference' sounds really really off and something like this can easily be faked since it was a decade ago. For starters, the story sounds heavily coming out of nowhere. Geo turning into a criminal? No offense, but that's the same way as saying "Lan became a criminal in BN7" It's just so weird.
Not to mention 'a character that is Lan's descendant' is another thing fans would generally come up with for Megaman SF. That sort of idea about Geo or anyone else being a descendant is a common theory for most if not all SF fans.
And then there's the artwork. No offense, but I seen a lot of fanart that can look like the actual thing. And if this is the real deal, then what about all the other concept art? This looks more like it could be a 'promo' and not actual different types of artwork like different styles they haven't decided on for Kazuma. Of all leaks, this 'promo' like picture is the only one?
Again, I love Megaman Starforce, but this is just all very 'iffy'.

I didn't know that there was going to be a megaman starforce 4 now there canceling how disappointing capcom I wanted to see some new characters and some old characters. This game had soo much potential and your already canceling it.
