Also, the part in 2:48 where Zero doubt for a second to shoot Omega because he saw him as the authentic zero, but after the words of Ciel told him, around 4:44 Zero now see himself as the real Zero (therefore, the old original body of him).
@@hil449 it’s more than just the images on the back being destroyed. It’s actually Zero destroying them every time he lands a hit on Omega. Honestly I want to believe that this is how the Omega vs Zero fight went canonically. That moment, no matter what may be or what anyone said, he was Zero. If the MMZ series ever gets an anime(WHICH IT SHOULD), this is what the fight verses Omega should be like.
YEAH you're right if this series ever gets an anime they should take ideas from the animations of ultimatemaverickx the battle between x and zero is also legendary
Ok, can we just appreciate the fact that it has been 11 YEARS and this animation is still peak quality? Since this video came out i have not seen anything that comes close to it, it always came back to my mind when i was like 5, and to this day, to this very day i still think about it sometimes, kinda talks about how good it is, and it doesn’t even need a remake since it’s too god damn perfect.
Can we talk about how perfectly the image of Zero's X series design was used here? At the beginning, it was used for Omega, not because Omega was using Zero's X series design, his design is still the same, but because at the Moment Zero sees him as the original, and there for sees him with that body subconsciously. Which is only amplified when the OG Body is out over Omega absolutely bodying Zero before the Guardians show up. But near the end, when Zero gets the upper hand and realizes even if his body is fake, his heart is real, Zero is followed by the image of his original body, and Omega is not portrayed with that form again until the very last slash. The Slash where Zero permanently destroys Omega, where Zero's original body's after image is also behind current Zero in it's original pallet. Symbolizing Zero destroying his perception that Omega is the True Zero. This animation had so much thought put into it, it's still a thrill to come back to years later.
There is so much detail here. Like when Omega looks like classic Zero, his Z-Saber is the one from X6 because X was allowed to keep the original Z-Saber. As a result we only see Omega use the X6 combo. But in the final clash, we see the original Zero doing his classic third slash.
I showed this to my friends from middle school (we’re adults now 30’s etc) and they LOVED watching this. they loved megaman just as much as i did and they were happy i shared this masterpiece with em. To the creator of this flash, thanks for making this epic piece of art. I’m a HUGE fan of zero ever since i first saw zero from mmx1 as a child. Thanks from me and my friends💯🙌
Seeing both X and Zero fighting side by side like old times murdered my heart. They truly are close friends. Also the animation killed me. It is just too good!!!
Kinda hard to believe that X was originally gonna be a villain for the Zero series since i guess the foreshadowing in X's ending in X4 and all if X6 did not happen and not replaced by Copy X. As much of a mess X6 was and wish it not happened or just done better i'm kinda glad X6 exist cause i kinda would've hated and it would be sad that seeing these two that were best friends later becomes enemies.
@@Nin.. let me make it understandable. Zero did not know he was in a copy body and he did not choose to be in that copy body. His original body was not infected with the sigma virus, the virus was destroyed before he was transferred into the copy body
@@pascalgagne221 Then why did you that it is transformed? Teddy is right to say that having all three rods is illegal, because the rod was busted twice already.
What I love about this animation is that it made the one detail in the game look cool. If you look at the background you'll see a Dr. Wily logo on Zero's side, symbolising that he was the real Zero. While on Omega's side you'll see a debris that can look like the letter 'I', which could imply the word 'Imposter'. The fact that both debris fall to the background on their respective sides makes this animation look even more awesome.
When I see X fade and leave the world to Zero, it makes me kinda sad. The greatest Reploid has passed... but his equal and best friend still has a bit more to do before joining him in heaven
3:51 brings back some fond yet gruesome memories............ good god that grab combo was always annoying when it hit me especially in the zx prequel fan game......... that shit even on normal does at least 30% of ur health there
3:36 Nice small detail. From the moment Omega merged, Zero starts remembering older memories when he gets beaten my Omega (watch the background). However, after the monologue (4:37), he gets stronger and starts beating up Omega and with every hit, he destroys his past memories (watch the background again) and new memories with his friends (including Axl) start to fill up those voids. In the final strikes, you can see Ciel in his strikes. Very very nice. Piece of art 👌
Amazing analysis!! Of course I have noticed the background images, but NEVER made the connection and analysis you pointed out! This video is truly a masterpiece.
Omega: you're next Zero Zero: you bastard....Omega! Omega: oh? you're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me? Even though the guardians Harpuia Fefnir and Leviathan told you the secret of the dark elf like an exam student scrambling to finish the problems on an exam until the last moments before the chime? Zero: I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer Omega: oh ho! then come as close as you like
10 Years old yet it is still golden. Words simply fail to describe the level of quality this work offers, truly does Megaman Zero 3 justice. Thank you for your hard work.
5:08 I somehow always pictured Zero performing the triple slash combo here in a way so that he would actually draw the lines of a "Z" with his three slashes, to add a more symbolic touch to the finale. That would look hella cool.
If you think about Zero's posture from those three slashes, it's making a Z-shaped cut if you put your perspective into his. The first slash is the upper part of a Z, the second slash is the lower part of the Z, and finally, the third slash appears to be somewhat diagonal, meaning that it is the middle slanted line of the letter.
I don't think a lot of people grasp fully how awesome this video is. I'll do my best to explain how I've interpreted it even though there's text and dialogue in the video. Not only is this an awesome fight between the two Zero(s) in combat. It's a metaphorical fight for Zero to find his identify and cope with his past. First, he's faced with his "real" body and it makes him question his identity. Second, in the background you see so many images of Zero's past. As he fights with his original body, Omega, you see the confusion about who he is when he hesitated @1:34, where it starts to make him question. When Omega gains the upper hand @3:38, Zero is reminded of the destruction and evil he was created to be and that's where his past starts to haunt him as you can see in the background. When he's finally reminded of who he is, defined by his actions, his true desire to protect people, and with the support of his friends, you can see his real self start to merge with his body @4:42. You can also see his past being torn down in the background. Zero's final blow @5:12 is himself viewing Omega as everything he's struggled with internally and finally putting it to rest. His victory against Omega isn't about who is the better reploid, but it's the moment where it isn't about if he's a copy or what he was made for. It's where Zero can put his past behind him and accept that it's who he wants to be that defines him.
A nice touch is the final sabre strikes show Ciel. After Zero lost Iris, he thought he lost everything, it's a nice touch that hints he may have found new purpose in life.
You can also see each times Omega stands on a gleam of light showing he Is the real "True" Zero; and In the end, before the final slash, Zero hesitating for seeing the real Zero (or maybe making a dramatic moment :D) and after the slash, showing Zero to be the True Zero. [I also think Zero showed to Omega he Is the real Zero, so maybe Omega did get to see him as the real Zero] (Too much writtings and repeating Zero/Real/True words. Sorry >.
I think only Megaman X fans will know. Playing the game since the first X game and ongoing makes this video just so much more emotional its definitely very heart touching seeing this.
@@UchihaFabio from looking at the choreography: he doesn't! Even when omega uses the rod, zero seemingly grabs the handle part of the weapon before the attack could land.
Zero always had the power, skill, and resolve to become more than what he was. It's because of the fact that he was created by Wily that he could never evolve into becoming something more. As long as Zero lived he was doomed to spread the maverick virus that existed within him fulfilling Wily's plan of having a powerful robot who would be the world's destroyer. Even if he didn't kill anyone himself, Zero would just infect some random reploid who would do the killing for him. Destroying Mavericks and preventing Sigma from destroying the world only delayed the inevitable. Even after the Mother Elf was created to combat the maverick virus and Zero was placed in an uninfected body, he still couldn't truly escape his dark past. In the X series, Zero was needed to guide X into becoming a better warrior so that he could fight and defeat Sigma. Now in the Zero series X is needed to help Zero overcome his dark past to become the hero that he wanted to be. Destroying Omega in his old infected body allows him to achieve this.
But as u said, humanity's extinction was just delayed, in the end, both reploids and humans went extinct Wily may have lost many battles, but he inevitably won the war
I mean, Wily didn't necessarily want Zero to destroy the world; he just wanted him to surpass MegaMan/Dr. Light's greatest creation. The virus was supposed to help him achieve that. The virus infecting reploids wasn't really part of the plan. I agree with everything else though.
When I see this fight, I see a clash of identity. Zero had just found out that Omega is his original body. Told that Omega is destruction incarnate, that the body’s awakening required little to no program alteration from Wile, and it has Zero questioning who he truly is. As shown in the fight, he does have moments where he could have finished it, but the “What if?” that plagues him distracts him from the task as Omega turns the tides. At his lowest point while the guardians are fighting a losing battle, he recalls the reason he fights. The reason he goes on as he does. And he doesn’t need his original body to do it, (4:33) as Ciel already saw him as the “true Zero” and thus, resolve restored, attacks again. Every clash has him shedding his past. Every time the blades cross, Zero tells himself “this isn’t who I am anymore.” Fate says that he’s the God of Destruction, he spits on it and Carves Destiny to show his enemy who the people truly believe him to be. And the final three blows pours in his whole reason why he fights: “I-“ *slash* “fight-“ *slash* “FOR CIEL!” *overhead slash.*
I have lost track on how many times I have watched this along the years, this animation truly stood, and still stands the test of time! Your animation skills are amazing! And animating Zero's limbs at the end of the battle really made the experience more immersive! 💗
It's been almost a decade. I just couldn't believe it. When Zero breaks out of the wall with Cannonball playing back up again. I got goosebumps there every single time.

Imagine how the guardians must've felt watching Zero and their father fighting together one last time. I'm sure they realized X would fade away after expending that much energy.
@@jettlucashayes8508 That is right and wrong, as their fate in the databook is left unknown. But since they never appeared in Z4, that is a possibility.
@@shadowx4559 I like to think that their life force was directly connected to X, meaning when X used up the last sliver of power he had left in his entire being, the guardians parish as well, now having no direct lifeline.
I’ve watched this countless times, but today marks the first time I’ve felt myself overcome by emotion and choking back tears. I can’t pinpoint as to “why”, but I found a whole new appreciation for this video. Bless you for putting it together.
I love how Zero is simply the most human of the reploids. He was always saving X; He never said "X, I'm better than you Just because I'm an class S Maverick Hunter." No. He encouraged X in MMX1. He never cared about being called a hero. He just did everything for his friends, despite the danger. Even if he loses his consciuness, he lost it trying to help, or because he was fooled. That's another point. He never did everything right. He failed, like we do. Well, that's what I think..
I really like how, at first, the battle sticks largely to things that zero and omega actually do in the games, but then the moment Zero first gets smashed into the wall, then X comes out, the Dark Elf comes out, and it all starts going wild, the animations get more complex, the battle gets more desperate... it’s all the little details, elevating this whole thing from ‘cool’ to ‘great’, like, there is real artistry in this, as well as a sick awesome fight animation.
This video is INSANELY well done. The glitches between classic zero design, the pictures of Ciel in the sword slashes. This was anime intro levels good.
5:05 for me, X and zero shots were brutal, and the part where zero slashed him 3 times with the ghost of the real zero was basically screaming out "don't even try to touch ciel, you scum!" hot damn...
I love that so much. The way he swings at X while deflecting Zero's support, the fact that Omega juggles back and forth between X and Zero to ensure neither are helping each other, and blocking X off with that pillar before going combo mad on Zero.
I absolutely love how you can just see Wily's dreams and plans crash, fall down and eventually be erased completely as Zero fights Omega. Zero truly does figure out who he is and what his identity really is during this fight. Honestly, this is just a masterpiece.
yeah until u realize Dr. Wily started the doomsday clock by creating zero and the zero virus Dr. Wily may have lost many battles, but he inevitably won the war when humanity went extinct
@@voice-less most of the characters are. The rebelion is full of humans. Ciel is a humam....in fact it is proven because she has a kid. If they were robots as well they would be falling like flies to minor weapons fire like you see them do lol. Also why they hated nature growing back because nature growing back gives humans the edge to be in charge again eventually

I realized, Zero and Omega are fitting names on multiple levels, Zero is the number of the Fool Arcana, Omega means The End, and is the last letter of the Greek Alphabet, the Fool is the Beginning and the End, 0 and 22, Omega is the End of one journey, the Journey of the original body, Zero is the beginning of a new journey, the Journey of the new body
nah bruh he is named Zero because he was designed to end X and destroy everything like the number zero mathmatically. Omega had pretty much the same purpose as the original Zero thus the name Omega.
It's ten years later, and I STILL get teared up every time Zero comes back slashin' through the bad memories with images of his friends and the people who support him shining through, and that big slash with his true spirit behind him and Ciel's face in the blade... freaking art. I have to have seen this a hundred times and it still moves me. Thank you for this.
I just realized something. Wily wanted to surpass Dr. Light and thought he had with Zero. For all the wrong reasons to him but the right ones overall.... he did. He just never knew it.
Defeat by hubris is a big theme in Megaman. Wily being beaten with his own weapons, Sigma being defeated by overconfidence, Weil and his miscalculations, Serpent and his fear, and Albert with his "children".
And we know he originally wanted to make heros now. So zero beating his past and darkness kinda shows that if Wily didn't fall to evil he just might have been a paragon. Zero killing his darkness gives a small redemption to Wily. Funny that.
Fubbster I also love the scene before that When Zero came back running towards Omega with the afterimage of his original X-style body and with the resistance in the background
If this was an alternative universe, ya wouldn't see X fighting Zero side-by-side against Omega Zero. Ya be fighting villains who are just as bad as Weil.
While knowing the remastering will happen sounds great, the sorrowful tones of the game and how Zero broke through it all with sheer determination and drive to help those he cared for and the lives of the masses at his back is exactly what made him who he was in his games. I am happy to know that there will be a remaster, as even at this moment, I've watched it again, and still it brings tears to my eyes not because of the hellscape he went through, but that he accomplished his victory past all those hardships, and you depicted it almost perfectly, especially for its time originally. Never forget what he stands for. "I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!!!" He will do absolutely everything to bring that burning light of freedom and sanctuary to all. I hope you capture that in its entirety in the remaster. Whether downtrodden or hopeful, I know I will be brought to tears again, feeling that empowerment again.
Even better is that they aren’t just falling down. Every time Zero lands a hit on Omega he is breaking one of the scenes with the darker parts of his past. Really sells the whole theme of Zero fighting who he was supposed to be so he can become the person he wants to be
This is one of my favorite moments in the entire Mega Man franchise. The plot twist of Zero being a fake and his body from the X series now being a bloodthirsty god of destruction was one that I didn't see coming despite some of the characters hinting that something wasn't right about Zero. Still, an incredible moment and possibly the most epic Mega Man battle ever. Hell, that fight ended all connections to the Classic series, which means that elements of that series are completely done and that slash Zero gives to Omega marks the beginning of a new tale. I love deep stuff like that. :)
I never cared about justice, and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it - Zero (MegaMan Zero 4)
6 years after I first saw this video I still have to watch it every now and then. If perfection exists, this would be it. This video perfectly captures all the feelings I had playing this game when I was young. Seeing this video makes me feel those emotions again time after time. I love how you put storytelling to good use by putting in references to the past of X and Zero, making this video reach even deeper into your feelings and making the bond between them jump out of the screen.

10 years and I've never realized this. Wow
There is so much detail here. Like when Omega looks like classic Zero, his Z-Saber is the one from X6 because X was allowed to keep the original Z-Saber. As a result we only see Omega use the X6 combo. But in the final clash, we see the original Zero doing his classic third slash.
@@ryumple Say... was the Z-Saber X gave in the beginning of the first game. The same Z saber he kept after Zero got a new one?

What I love about this animation is that it made the one detail in the game look cool.
If you look at the background you'll see a Dr. Wily logo on Zero's side, symbolising that he was the real Zero. While on Omega's side you'll see a debris that can look like the letter 'I', which could imply the word 'Imposter'.
The fact that both debris fall to the background on their respective sides makes this animation look even more awesome.

Yeah but then he would be copying Zorro XD
Lol, I'm too 😂😆
I've personally interpreted the final slash as a form of Genmu Zero being performed.
Legend say that Omega got defeated 4 times by:
Zero
Vent/Aile
Ashe/Grey
and... 2 Mettaurs

The backgrounds tell lots of stories & emotions
A nice touch is the final sabre strikes show Ciel. After Zero lost Iris, he thought he lost everything, it's a nice touch that hints he may have found new purpose in life.
You can also see each times Omega stands on a gleam of light showing he Is the real "True" Zero; and In the end, before the final slash, Zero hesitating for seeing the real Zero (or maybe making a dramatic moment :D) and after the slash, showing Zero to be the True Zero. [I also think Zero showed to Omega he Is the real Zero, so maybe Omega did get to see him as the real Zero]
(Too much writtings and repeating Zero/Real/True words. Sorry >.
I think only Megaman X fans will know. Playing the game since the first X game and ongoing makes this video just so much more emotional its definitely very heart touching seeing this.
you can tell he doubts himself at the start
I love how after the encouragement Zero found in words that Ciel said to him, he just doesn’t get hit by any of Omega’s attacks
Zero: Oh yeah...Im fucking Zero.
Nakama power 😄
he gets hit some times but he just tanked them
@@UchihaFabio from looking at the choreography: he doesn't! Even when omega uses the rod, zero seemingly grabs the handle part of the weapon before the attack could land.
@@jackofallnades2908 then why is he holding his hand like he is in low health?
Perfect writing 👌
But as u said, humanity's extinction was just delayed, in the end, both reploids and humans went extinct
Wily may have lost many battles, but he inevitably won the war

And the final three blows pours in his whole reason why he fights:
“I-“ *slash* “fight-“ *slash* “FOR CIEL!” *overhead slash.*

Funny that.
