Hello everyone! I can’t thank you enough for the support that has motivated me to return again for the THIRD YEAR of these manga ranking videos. I don’t even have hundredS of subs yet and people would comment on these videos excited for each one. It always means a lot. Be sure to leave all of your favorite manga down below! Now, for those who are interested, I’m going to continue talking about the future of the series.
As I alluded to early on in the video as well as discussed at the end, I’m not sure how much longer this series will go on. I never had a set number in mind or a goal, and at this point, even though there’s so many manga out there, I have eventually read most of the series I’m interested in at this point. Plus, with me taking on time consuming things such as starting my new job fresh out of college, watching 100 movies within the year, and still retaining my interests of video games and movies, manga (along with anime) have kind of taken a backseat lately. Not only do I have less time to read manga, I have less to read in general. I know there are still PLENTY of manga out there, but I’m more motivated to read some series than others, and those series aren’t just every single manga. This is something I talked about during the video, and while I did kind of give y’all a heads up on what I may be reading for 2024…
…there was another, bigger problem that occurred when uploading this video. For context, I’ve been recording/uploading from my laptop. I’ve never owned a PC before, so I have been uploading videos from the same laptop that I used to use for school, and now that I use for work and still use for everything else. And with that said, this laptop just doesn’t have the power to upload/edit videos quickly. That’s why my videos are very raw and clunky. It’s why my camera quality and video lighting is so bad. It’s why I record all of my videos in one take so I don’t have to edit them; it’s extremely slow on editing software. Maybe other laptops are made for creating content, but this laptop that I’ve been using for everything these past 5 years or so just isn’t cut out for it. Long story short; when uploading this video, it took my laptop EIGHT HOURS to render from clipchamp. Yes, this was a LONG video, but it’s never taken this long before, even though I’ve uploaded other long videos including past tier lists. The wear is finally catching up. My average videos that are 15-25 minutes normally take two hours, which is fine, but who knows if I can successfully upload these videos if it takes that long. I wanted to include music in the video to help the flow and not make it feel as empty, but I had to opt out because even adding music might have made the render time even longer! Since this is my laptop I use for everything, I can’t always be able to download a video for eight hours. Sure, these long videos are only once a year, but I can’t make guarantees because this is the longest the process has ever taken. So, because of what I talked about earlier of not being able to edit videos and the raw, casual nature of the tierlists.. I can’t guarantee that I can tighten the length of these videos so it’s possible I’ll axe the series. I won’t mind calling it quits, but I also wouldn’t mind continuing these unpolished uploads if that’s what people are still interested in seeing. Let me know your thoughts… I’ll never say never.. The long uploading time could have been a one-time thing and I am willing to keep going? What say you?
I really enjoyed this, in fact I enjoyed all 3 of your tier lists. Definitely understand your reasoning, I also mainly read manga/manhwa for pure enjoyment which is why I won't even touch stuff like punpun😂
