The only video/content that addresses the strap customizability 👍 Ive been looking all over the internet trying to find out how does this watch look with leather/rubber strap 🙌 Could you measure the thickness of the brown leather strap you use in the video? Many thanks!!!
It’s pretty thin. Like 1.5mm. But more importantly the pin is very close to the end of the leather. That’s most important. And thank you for watching 👍
This could have been a retro reissue of Seiko Lord Quartz seiko 7143-7010, which I suspect would’ve been popular. But what they did instead is to round out the sharp edges, change the strips of the dial to horizontal, remove the taper, and add polished finishes to the bracelet. The older design looks far more attractive in my opinion. Moreover, as much as I like the applied logo, I find it to be unbalanced without something at six o’clock. I was really hoping I’d like it, but I didn’t feel it when I saw and handled the watch in person
I love this watch. Its size is perfect for my 17cm wrist. It is thin and light, the bracelet fits the shape of my wrist well. At first glance, the dial is ordinary. But the parthen strip is splendid and changes according to the light with the anti-reflective glass. The watch is very readable even if the loom is just sufficient. I like looking at her, touching her. I feel like I've found MY watch.
Great review man. I owned a black PRX quartz and TBH, I didn't wear it much and I think this one looks better and you can't beat the price. I may grab one from Joma.
Ordered the SUR558 today. With al my filters on it's the only watch that also looks really good to me. Some retro looks to it, simple but atractive dial, no nonsense on it, and soo thin! :) also need that with my 16,5 /17 cm wrist. And ofcourse the sapphire and 10 atm makes it complete. Am seeing also some better second hand alligments on other video's so hope i'm lucky with that
@@threehandhunter thanks, changed it btw to the silver/white one. The gold on the bracelet on the dualtone i think is too much. Wished it was only on the bezel/dial
@@threehandhunter I meant it seems to be a Seiko problem in particular. Almost every Seiko I own is misaligned, regardless if it’s mechanical or quartz. I have Japan make SKX the bezel and chapter ring is slightly off, same with my “safarnie” SNJ029, had a J model SRP turtle I sold but chapter ring and 12 o’clock marker off. Nevertheless I do love Seiko but wish they’d iron out the small QC issues for us perfectionists. I have only owned one near perfect Seiko which is the sea urchin SNZF17 from Japan.
I have some obscure casio edifice reference and it hits probably 70% of its indices, but then again I might have gotten lucky with that one as I bought it for only about $100 a few years back @@threehandhunter
Seiko Essentials are great designs and prices, but man I can't handle that misaligned seconds hand! Had an SUR at one point but returned it because of that.
Nice vid. I was so wanting to like this watch …but it just lacks that X factor to pull me over the line. It is too “meh”…. And I can see why the community has passed on it.
That watch enthusiast buddy sounds intelligent and insightful. I am amazed that this Seiko has over 3 times the depth rating of the Panerai Luminor Due!
@@threehandhunter Hello amazing dude. Quick question for you; is it possible to swap the face dial on these watches & how do you remove the last lug of the u-clamp? I would like to do a blue dial with the two tone gold housing if possible.
IMO the textured dial makes the watch something special. Elegant and sporty at the same time. And yes, I would pick this watch over the PRX quartz.
Right? Thank you for the comments 🙏👍

That’s awesome. It’s got so much going for it at this price point 👍
Very detailed review, thanks.
My pleasure 👍
I got the SUR 553 and it is just awesome!!!
What an awesome colorway 👍 the light dial is sweet
Great review man. I owned a black PRX quartz and TBH, I didn't wear it much and I think this one looks better and you can't beat the price. I may grab one from Joma.
You should. It’s so easy to wear on the fly!

Good luck with the alignment. Overall this watch really hits it out of the park, imo. You will really enjoy it!

That makes sense! I love the white one!@@Santbak
I think it looks better than the PRX, but man, the way it misses nearly all the indices will make me crazy
That’s the way you can check if it’s real! 😅 If it had a rotating bezel it would be misaligned as well.
Hence the problem with so many quartz’s…agreed

I bought the sur555 last yr affordable and sapphire
Really great proposition from Seiko!
I have same watch may I ask which is the mesh strap you could put on it, thanks
It’s just a 20mm milanese strap. Generic
Crazy it doesn’t hit the markers (just like Tissot) but my 90s era seiko does
Mass production today 🤦
Happy New Year

It is tough to look at for sure!
Nice one❤🎉
Thank you! 🙏
the PRX does have half links but I plan to sell mine anyway, get the Seiko PRX and pocket the difference for a future watch! ;-)
That’s a great idea 💡
Does the second hand fits the markers? In the Video sometimes seems that the second Hand doesnt hit the markers
Not on mine. Depends if you find one or not. I’ve seen some that do

Unbalanced…the dial. Another viewer said this. I agree
I think it went unseen because it's a quartz. Not hating, I myself collect quartz, but I'm also a realist
Great point
Get the Citizen automatic version.
Assuming you are referencing the Tsuyosa? Do they have a quartz version?
No @@threehandhunter but most would want a automatic.
I have the tsuyosa and find it to bulky. Considering getting the seiko

Is it quartz?
It is!
Is that so hard to see? 😆
Mesh strap link?
I don’t, sorry. Actually came off another watch I acquired
Is there an automatic version of this?
I don’t think so 🤔
@@threehandhunter That's a shame bcoz I hate when second hand misses the marks as bad as on watch you showed in this video. Cheers
Agree with you there!@@Nudel-nc1cp
How does a cheaper Casio hit the second marks better than Seiko
Good question!
better this one or sur373p1 help me guys
Personal taste!
Current prx has has half links
Yes, but not sure what you are referring to?
@@threehandhuntersorry ment half* links
if only they had tapered the bracelet more, this would have been a homerun.
💯 agree here
For 190 Usd is okay, but 370 price that seiko asks? Nope thanks! I purchased Seiko Titanium SUR377P1 - Biggest mistake.
Grey market for sure!
Edifice EFB 108D is cheaper and better than the Seiko SUR 557
I’ve never handled a Casio Edifice. They do look nice!
ill pass on the quartz, its just not for me
I get that. Quartz not for everyone
Square case shoulders? No, no, no
😀
Tissot dial and number which shows date is awful
Seiko dial and date number is besst.
In what way?
@@threehandhunter ı dıdnt like explaine right way just grab one gentleman and prx quartz. They are not good aş automatic ones.
no il s a quartz

Let it be discontinued and everyone will pay more to get one 😂
