Years ago I wrote a screenplay on Bram Stoker writing Dracula largely fueled by his repressed sexual and emotional and intellectual longing for Henry Irving.
I recently found this channel and I cannot express how much I like it. It seems to me that all my favorite books are being reviewed here. From Anne Rice to Jane Austen, all the episodes are amazing!
Thank you, it's nice to know it's appreciated. Love to know your thoughts on these great books too.
I would love him to review more experimental writers like Dennis Cooper Sluts
Love this book! And I love your interpretation of what happens.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
This a great interpretation of Dracula your episodes are amazing 👏
Your content is amazing! Best literature channel on UA-cam!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you think so. :)
Everybody thinks they know what Dracula is really about cause they recognise certain words from our time in it and think they have the same meaning without realising that they probably don't. Shame we can't ask Stoker what his intent with it was.
Brilliant video essay! How could I miss the previous two? I'll make up for it right away.
Thanks, hope you like the other two :)
@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall I loved the first one. Already left a comment thanking you for showing the photo of Tom Waits 🙂
@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall I'll watch the second one later today. 👍🙂
This is quality content thanks!
Thank you! :)
Subd. Great channel 🎉
Thank you, glad you enjoy the videos. :)
Loving your interpretation of Dracula ! I agree that the book has a strong sexual/erotic dimension to it; which I find Francis Ford Coppola's film adaptation to have portrayed really well.
Interesting concept of Jonathan becoming a play-thing for Dracula. So you don't see Lucy's head being cut off as a form of female castration? Ha! Look forward to the remaining three guides.
Haha no I don't, I always thought that interpretation was reaching a little bit. But then, I do have a contrarian streak when it comes to the interpretations that were foisted on me in school and at university before I dropped out of English. :P
