We had a debate on this in my literature class on high school. "Mina and Lucy, feminist figures or archetypical wives?" Very interesting topic to discuss over.

🦇🌹I'm loving this series ! If I could make a request, I would really like to see Mary Shelley's " Frankenstein " as a series. I think others would like it too. You have such a knack for really getting into the material for your wonderful analysis. If Bram Stoker were here, he would be very pleased to know his work is being examined in such a way. 🩸🍷🫀

I'm glad you're enjoying it, and yes, I think Frankenstein would make for a good choice in the future. I have some others planned, but I will add it to my list for sure! :)

Thank you so much! I've always loved the book and this movie adapation and adored Lucy, while I've also felt much sympathy for her and her position in society. Watching how males treated her and how she belittled herself has always rubbed me the wrong way. You found the perfect words for her situation.

Mina’s boss! I absolutely love her! I think she’s one of the more underrated female characters

Definitely! On re-reading the book I thought it was excellent too how well Stoker did at giving unique voices to all the characters, and Mina's was my favourite to read.

I have an exam tomorrow, and we (I and my classmates) were just browsing for some materials on the theme of New Woman as presented in "Dracula". For some last minute brush-up, essentially. And I found this video. Now, we are having some sort of a group-watch-party. Can't thank you enough. You're a life saver, to say the least.
