On a second note. This road layout does not have the space for the citizens to upgrade into higher density. That is the only problem I have with starting the city out like this. It is such a pain having to change the road layout after you already created the city. When you have a better understanding of the game it is also entirely possible to start out with making 2-lane highways. Then you can just upgrade roads later on rather then having to delete entire neighborhoods, in order to switch to highways. This will save a lot of trouble if your plan from the start is to make the biggest booming city possible.
Completely agree. If I were wanting to create the biggest city possible I would approach the initial layout differently. I also wouldn't use this city plot for that type of city. It's not completely flat. This city layout is about learning the basics to starting a city. Then, after learning the basics, a player can hopefully build whatever type of city they want...whether it's a large, high population city or a smaller less populated city.
You have zoned more industry than you have people. You can create more residential areas to bring in more people or you can up the density of your existing residential areas or do both.
