could a monoblock system be matched with the existing coil? Maybe that would make for a good episode. To me when I heard about monoblock systems I thought retrofit could be super easy and this adding more value to the deal.
Once I have time to access one and maybe do a head to head / comparison I might do that but no because it’s a hydronics coil so it won’t match to an existing system. It’s a water based coil
Great content!! Very informative. I have a situation and hopefully you can point me in the right direction. Purchased a 4ton Goodman (GSZ H5041810AA)Single Stage Heat Pump in 2022 which has worked ok, but I would really like to upgrade out of that for an inverter product keeping my Ecobee Thermostat. Problem is I have a brand new unit and not sure if there are any trade in type options for HVAC systems.
You could sell the used unit on Craigslist but that’s about it unfortunately. Once it’s used it’s hard for a contractor to resell so they normally won’t take them on trade
I have a Ducted AC system, with natural gas for heating. In your reviews I'm never really sure if the system you are discussing is a "mini-split system or a ducted system. I'm looking for a ducted heat pump system to replace my current system. I live in central CA
@@TheHVACDopeShow Nope, was asking. Obviously, outrageous labor charges negate the value of a "parts only" warranty. When I replaced my 47 yo systems 13 yrs. ago, the installer offered a transferrable 10 yr. parts and labor warranty. Happily, I never had to use it.
The audio is poor again. Your boom microphone is not active. You may be next to it but it is not being used for recording. You’re also echoing off the walls since there is no sound insulation on the walls.
This is one that we didn’t realize the mic wasn’t connected SMH 🤦♂️ We do have sound blankets in there, just recently added insulation to the ceiling to quiet things down and you can tell me if it helped on some of the new videos but the wood walls don’t help the cause.
The units are physically identical / same specs... different logo. That was my point and that's what I tried to point out in the manuals. There's no difference except warranty really and controls.

Is the performance of the Goodman GSZV9 on par with these units as well?
Yes, I can do the head to head matchup but I believe the ratings are identical as that’s what it looks like on the energystar.gov site

These particular units are central ducted systems
Most of what we discuss is ducted unless I specify it as a mini split or VRF
Parts AND LABOR warranty????
Did I say labor? That would have been a slip on my part although some companies offer extended labor warranties
