Machine has been slowing down during vacuuming. Saw this and disassembled the brushes! Wow, think I would have guessed how clogged the filter, brushes, and lower chambers were with dog fur (I have three). Thirty minutes of unclogging. Works like brand new again. Thanks for the video.
i have one of this machines (a basic model) since 2004. I love it, it´s the best floor cleanner i ever had. My problem is that some parts are beginning to brake and in my country i don´t have where to by them. there isn´t also someone to reppair it.
Love this product, but it has a manufacturer defect which is the on/off push button in the handle. It shorts out after a few months, and cannot be repaired, only replaced. First one I had died within 4 months, took it to the repair center and told that Hoover says it can't be fixed - so it was replaced with a brand new one, 4 months later the 2nd machine shorted out the same way. Again Hoover says it can't be repaired just replaced - but if the 3rd one dies the same way, then my 2 yr warranty will probably be expired and I will be without any options with Hoover!?!? So they agreed to send me a different model, the one with the spin brush and also built in Vacuum - let's hope this one doesn't die, at least the on/off button is on the top of the handle, which may help prevent it from shorting out.
Thank you for sharing. Keep us posted how the latest different model holds up, post model number, too. I had several issues with switches myself, here are some details: ua-cam.com/video/9HI6ElnzrAE/v-deo.html or this ua-cam.com/video/yHwQZcFb5Oc/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/UbCDX6K5qUA/v-deo.html
the yellow sponge can be removed easily thru the hole where the black lever is...is a stiff sponge so if you stick your finger in and loop it around the sponge it comes out. wash it and put it back in same way. is real easy. You dont need to take the screws out. I like it ...but wish they would have made a scrub/wash button and then when done a dry button...maybe?
A very informative video. I just bought one on line and will have it in a few days. My only concern is on how long the machine lasts without one of the plastic clips breaking as there seems to be so much plastic. I hope it cleans ground in dirt that only comes out with hard scrubbing with a Brillo pad say. Any device will clean lose surface dirt but not tough ground in dirt.
@@theoverengineer mine doesn't seem to clean very well on dried up small spills in the kitchen....sometimes it's just water marks that get dirty. I still have to "scrub" those up manually as I notice them after using the floormate on it.
I'm looking up floor mate deluxe cleaner because I am lost my instruction manual. If my hand is off of both of the knobs that dispense the cleaning fluid, does the machine suck water off the floor when I pull the cleaner back toward me? FYI, i've vacuumed my hard floors with a stick vacuum before I use this floor cleaner and the sponge filter on the suction side never gets particles in it.
Just got one of these. I'm tugging on the "nozzle release latch" but the nozzle cover does not seem to want to come off. Feels like I'm going to break it. I assembled it and have used it but now I'm trying to take it apart to clean it. Any advice would be appreciated. UPDATE: I just got brave and pulled really hard and it snapped out. Seemed far more difficult than the ease of which yours appears to snap out.
Mine came with a soft roller but the booklet doesn't say anything at all about how, when or why it would be used. Is it something that supposed to stay in place or only be used for certain functions?
I was hoping you'd show how to put the bottom pieces together. I have a big black piece, and can't figure out how it goes on. AAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrggggggg
"One of these" is not a model number. "these" is a determiner in plural form and is to be matched with a plural object, "floor cleaner" is singular. Assembly requires meticulous attention to detail likewise.
This guy should be fired! His sarcasm is not appreciated. WHy don't you simply say, "Please provide the model number of your Hoover so we could help you." ? What kind of customer service is that?
1) Could test the motor that pumps the water by directly connecting motor to external power 2) Could test the circuit if it delivers power to the motor (measure Volts)
I bought 2 of these units over the past couple of years and had the same problem on both. The start button does not work suddenly. Piece of junk since both of them had the same problem. Untrustworthy product and brand. I don't understand how so many people had the same problem, yet the company has not fixed it. Needs a class action suit.
I bought one 2 years ago, used it once a month for 4 month then it refused to turn on... brought it o ,y locql Hoover repqir center.... they replaced it with a new one but omited give the original paperwork back... telling me I was on my own if it brakes again.... well it did now after just 2 uses..... total robbery.... will never ever buy again from this ones great company.... (was even told by clerck... things are not done he way they used to.....)
*There should be an app called "things that work like their supposed to"🌼 **allabout.wiki/FloorMate** I had a Bissell bolt and it's internal battery failed. I did not know that it could not be replaced when I bought it. The Hoover out performs the Bissell in every way possible. Twice the suction, even picks up pine needles which the Bissell would just push around. The control switch from floor to carpet is controlled by your thumb and allows for immediate transition. This machine works!*
thanks for taking the time to pull it apart and show us how it works.

You are welcome!
I have one, bought it a couple years ago. Still works great. Love it, no more pushing an unsanitary mop all over the floors.
I use Murphy's wood soap concentrate with hard wood floors. Does a great job and leaves a pleasant pine smell.

My plastic bits are holding up since making the video, plus time before.

I felt the same way about mine.
I use Remington headphones when I use Floormates, as they are just too loud. Goes with the territory.
I would have love to see it in action.

you popped that nozzle cover off so easily...mine does not budge. I'm afraid to force it
My on/off switch stopped working.
I have a question how come my scrubbing part is different mines has only green and white will that be a problem??
Supplier ran out of gray polyester for a week ... Should be fine.

I bought one of these Hoover floor cleaner and it is totally worthless. Water does not come out. Help

mine is leaking clean water, what is wrong and how can I fix it
Look at the seals where the leak is. It could take an hour ...
@@theoverengineer my seal just broke and i'm so upset because i love this machine. i don't see any way to open it so i can fix it.
Mi maquina no descarga el agua alguien me podría decir como repararlo, en mi país no hay SERVICE hoover
