What people don't reliese if I build a fan base there are a 100 ways to monitize yourself just by having a group of fans you have a group of people that will buy merchandise from there you can go the hard route and continue to push your own merchandise or you can contact all your favorite Brands and say I built a fan base and am selling my own merchandise but I love your products can I be a sales associate and if you are realy selling your own stuff successfully and can prove that to them they will give you sales codes that you can earn commissions on evertime they are used and that is just one of the more popular ways youtube is used to make you money before monetization there are 100s of other ways currently being used and people will find more . If you make a video about this at least throw me a shout out

So true, I luckily grew this channel with 2k subs in my first month with the right timing of a new game "halo infinite" and shorted clips rather than longer video, but I'm looking to move into longer form content with playthroughs etc and I'm choosing to start a new account rather then change my whole content on this channel that works well in shorter video format
I love how you mentioned Research being such an important part from when you were talking. Do you keep your research limited to just YT or do you also spread out to other places such as Twitch/Reddit/etc to get that data too?
@@zlance1993 For UA-cam thumbs, titles etc gathered from UA-cam. But Reddit is a great source for understanding the community you want to make content for. 😃
I was lucky that after 3 months of YT I got a smash hit of a video at 800 subs. That one alone gave me over 20000 Watch hours and more than 3000 subs. And got rocketed straight into the monetization.
You need better thumbnails and titles that’s why pple are not clicking (I hope this helps, I have been watching a lot of videos about success on UA-cam and titles and thumbnails are the most important part )

By the way the whole video was very valuable. Lewis & JC share a lot of the ideas and points I do also share but have also gained experience that exceeds mine. I think I will have to keep improving my thumbnails. Especially since I made a major shift. I used to use fanarts in my thumb that are also on the horny side. It makes people click. But A sooner or later this spells trouble with artists and B people may click for the wrong reasons. Especially when that whole thumb looks like a click baity Roblox Thumbnail. The current style is much more professional but probably also boring and looks too close to what others are doing. So I am on a quest to find a unique style, that is legal and still conveys the right message.

I like built most my content on one game but it feels like ever my video is the same as it’s a racing game. I started this channel (a new one) today and I spent an entire hour designing and formatting and creating my channel banner, it took a LOT of tries, first the software was crap, then the pictures were broken, then it wouldn't fit, etc... but it's all for the better...

As a suggestion, I think you should change the size of your face in your thumbnails, it's scaled up too much which draws away from the rest of it. Also, the quality of some of the photos makes it seem much more amateur. I think that's because of the lighting when taking the photos. Sorry to judgemental but I'm trying to help you out :)

Turns out that UA-cam thinks your videos are made for kids I only know this because I went to your channel and when I tried to get your channel to get all notifications it said it was made for kids the other strange part is I watch south Park clips on UA-cam and family guy and they also are made for kids but you can't comment on those videos UA-cam is strange and makes no sense sometimes

I started my channel to share my passion modifying and tinkering with…well, everything. It's also an outlet for me to entertain and tell stories which is one of my favorite parts. Home Automation is definitely one of my passions, and this is what's taking off and netted me 500 subs in first month. Naturally, I want to grow so I can do all I enjoy , even the research and editing, full-time. And I want to keep my subscribers happy, so focusing more on this one topic. I started my channel to share my passion modifying and tinkering with…well, everything. It's also an outlet for me to entertain and tell stories which is one of my favorite parts. Home Automation is definitely one of my passions, and this is what's taking off and netted me 500 subs in first month. Naturally, I want to grow so I can do all I enjoy , even the research and editing, full-time. And I want to keep my subscribers happy, so focusing more on this one topic. I'm committed to algo because I want to produce engaging content, but having trouble with moving away from what's working. Any advice if you have a moment?
