HMS Edinburgh (C16) was launched on 30th December 1938 and was the lead class of the Edinburgh-Class Sub class of the Town Class Light Cruiser. Her sister ship was HMS Belfast (C35). The Edinburgh Sub Class was longer than the other Town-Class ships, this allowed her to be armed with an extra turret and more torpedo armament.
She was commissioned into the Royal Navy on 6th July 1939 and joined the Home Fleets 18th Cruiser Squadron. She was assigned to patrol duties before being transferred to the 2nd Cruiser Squadron.
She was attacked during the first raid by the Luftwaffe on naval bases in Rosyth on 16th October 1939.
After this she was assigned to escort duties and in winter 1940 she was assigned to mine shipping lanes off the Danish coast. She played a minor role in the hunt for Bismarck in May 1941 where she was sent to the bay of Biscay to shadow Bismarck.
She spent the rest of 1941 and early 1942 on convoy duty. It was during one of her escort missions on 30th April 1942 she was hit by a torpedo launched by U-456, which hit her on the starboard side, near her cargo bay which had gold stored. She started to list but crew was able to stop her sinking by closing her water tight doors. The U-boat then launched another torpedo which hit her rudder, crippling the Edinburgh.
Edinburgh was taken into tow and on May 2nd 1942 she was attacked by three German Destroyers, Hermann Sohemann, Z24 and Z25.
The tow was cast off and Edinburgh began to move in circles, she opened fire on the destroyer badly damaging Hermann Sohemann and driving off the other two not before they fired torpedoes at Edinburgh. One hit near were U-456 had hit.
She was then scuttled by a torpedo launched from HMS Foresight, she lost 2 officers and 56 crew.

Remember Captains the sister ship to Edinburgh is HMS Belfast our only surviving world war 2 ships which is docked in the river Thames also to add this ship got sunk I the siege of the legendary bismarck
Well there is also HMS Cavalier which is a C-Class Destroyer, she served in WW2. She is located in Chatham, Kent

Probably best to use it to hunt destroyers and capture objectives --- increase your teams chances of winning the match 🤷♂️

16 inch and under battleships shells on Edinburgh’s bow: bink bonk bink
When I’m playing it I get absolutely shredded through my deck even when bow tanking but when I have one fighting me while I’m in a battleship. I get one or two hits that just shatter. I did dev strike one earlier today blind firing through his smoke. Never saw it coming at 15 km lol

Even if you are playing a more generic cruiser build I would still recommend using double rudder, in Edinburgh you HAVE to dodge everything I I also would recommend using the radar and ingenious on your commander, on the whole I would recommend tennant even over al Belfast because you get an extra heal
I would like to mention something to spartan. I use to play quite often. Sometime ago I had mentioned how the ships were underwhelming to their pc counterpart. I watched the livestream from wargaming. What drew my attention was the cossack 1938. I brought this up last time the ship was being released and how they striped the extra guns to put a AA gun before aircraft carriers were even in the game. This ship could be blatant slap to the player base by selling us re skins and now weapon mods..Weapons mods, case in example the grosser kurfurst having a upgrade mod for the guns. Are we gunna see Missouri(1960) or hey want to buy ship with bigger/extra guns. I think it sets a precedence of what's to come.
I watched a different video the other day and on that one they explained a bit about the fire setting chances with HE shells, if you fire at a ship for every round that completely missed the target the other rounds in that salvo get a fire setting buff! Not sure how much but that would explain why getting hit by 1 shell would almost guarantee a fire!

Hey Spartan one thing I noticed is British Cruisers have better AA then the British battleships why do you think that is?

Just bad angling if you can't ricochet every 16 inch gun
Even bow on to a Massachusetts at 6 KM it was hitting me for 10k salvos
@@SpartanElite43 if you take 10k damage from the tower while bow tanking it gets saturated, but if you hit a heal (which is likely) it gets almost entirely unsaturated and allows for you to repeatedly get hit for 10k in the tower

So I just noticed a premium Japanese cruiser in my line up. So I’ve done two games with it. First game my team lost. But i get a nice devastating strike. Right before i was obliterated by four different cross fire. (Still leading scorer on my team) The second game however i got two devastating strikes. 3 kills and second place among both teams. Would love to see you do a video of this ship.

War on the Sea I stream on Fridays so later today.
Trains I just took a bit of time off after streaming for 3 hrs a night for like 2 weeks

My problem with AP only armerment is you end up bouncing shells off BBs unles the BB's player is stupid.

I like your content and have been watching this series the whole way. With that said, I've never been a fan of British ships on game or reality. I just thing they are aesthetically ugly. The forward superstructures are very blocky.
