    I think it's really cool that SD has evolved into a "exotics and reptiles" channel as opposed to purely snakes. It's refreshing to see this much enthusiasm mixed into a channel that covers both wildly popular and less popular pets in a caring, informative environment. Not enough good channels for this sort of thing.

    This species is very popular and common in the beetle lovers community. Just a few things I’d like to add to this video, they’re very strong! They can easily open the lid of container etc, and flying sounds are pretty loud too. So please choose the good container and I don’t recommend to put the container in the bedroom.

      We have smaller version of those/similar beetles in Central Europe - Stag beetles. I am always surprised at how strong beetles are. I once covered small, black beetle - but those fellas bite - with some sort of lid, and before I came back with a glass to remove it from the house I saw how it was moving the piece of plastic. And yea, beetles they are loud.

    i have literally never been interested in owning a beetle. but this genuinely looks like such a fun and interesting pet to learn how to take care of, and their short lifespan makes them not really much of a commitment either which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it just means you can choose to breed and continue or just let things take their natural course if you're struggling to take care of them

    • @haileymajewski6084
      @haileymajewski6084 Рік тому +41

      They are honestly such rewarding pets, and I highly recommend them for anyone who might be interested in a pet that's mostly hands off. Their larval stages only need to be checked on every few weeks to a month, when you refresh their flake soil.

    I work at a golf course and have seen these big guys on the side walks before! I never knew all this about them. I knew they were harmless, so when my coworkers would see them, they would come get me to pick them up and move them because they were scared. Their legs sort of tickle you as they walk on your hands. lol. I would just set them in nearby bushes next to trees under the leaves, usually just to keep them away from the walkway. I have always thought they were cool looking and have always been amazed at how big they get! Thank you for this video.
