I love beetles so much they’re my favorite insects ever. I have a colony of tenebrio molitor beetles and they are the sweetest things. They love to play and they love their veggies and they’re so good with each other and with me. I’d love a stag or rhino beetle because I want a big one that I could hang out with
Good advice! I myself never owned a sun beetle, but having a heat mat might not be a good idea for some species of stag beetles as their natural habitat is mostly in mountain forests. They prefer cold temperature ranging from around 16-23C, not too cold nor too hot. I also don't recommend UV light on their enclosure as stag beetles don't really like exposed to lights. But I guess that's fine if you keep them in a dark place and wanted to make the beetle know when is day and night, of course with the electric timer on. Don't forget some hiding spots for them too. I keep mine in a room with indirect sun light for all day and making sure they have some hiding spot like logs and dry leaves so they can hide whenever they want. My room temperature is mostly around 23-25C. For a half year, most of my beetles are thriving and seems to be healthy in that condition.

I was staying in North Carolina for two months and found some fascinating beetles, snakes, plants, and toads! My favorite beetle out of all the ones I've caught here is my two Brown Prionid Beetles. They have scary mandibles, beautiful colors, and make a squeaking sound when poked. 😹 I actually found your channel searching for ways to sex them because they look the same, but one is wider (they might be two different species-). Even though your channel didn't have the answer to my problem, I'm still happy I found it! I just watched all your videos, and am looking forward to more! ❤️
Nice video, although any suggestions for how to deal with heat? In winter, the coldest overnight temps where I am are around 15 Celsius, during the day its around 25. In summer, it can up to 33 indoors, but normally around 27-28. Is that ok? I do have aircon, but it doesn't really reach my bug-room. Any tips?
Great video on the basics of how to care for a beetle :) followed exactly as you said on this video once I found a wild stag beetle. Are there any 'don'ts' that stage beetle owners should be aware of?
This is quite helpful! However, I DO wonder if you'll be covering dung beetles/scarabs?
