I love beetles so much they’re my favorite insects ever. I have a colony of tenebrio molitor beetles and they are the sweetest things. They love to play and they love their veggies and they’re so good with each other and with me. I’d love a stag or rhino beetle because I want a big one that I could hang out with
That's so great to hear! Happy beetle keeping :)
@@beetletv8980 thank you, you too 😁
@@beetletv8980 what we can feed for larva
I had those 😮😊
I have rhinoceros beetle how will I sell?
My and my 4 years son want to get beetle. He loves them and spiders. So ai like to say thank you for this chanel. It's very good and helpful.
Good advice! I myself never owned a sun beetle, but having a heat mat might not be a good idea for some species of stag beetles as their natural habitat is mostly in mountain forests. They prefer cold temperature ranging from around 16-23C, not too cold nor too hot. I also don't recommend UV light on their enclosure as stag beetles don't really like exposed to lights. But I guess that's fine if you keep them in a dark place and wanted to make the beetle know when is day and night, of course with the electric timer on. Don't forget some hiding spots for them too. I keep mine in a room with indirect sun light for all day and making sure they have some hiding spot like logs and dry leaves so they can hide whenever they want. My room temperature is mostly around 23-25C. For a half year, most of my beetles are thriving and seems to be healthy in that condition.
Your videos are so good. I just binged all of them. I hope you make more content some day, super relaxing, informative and visually engaging videos
I was scared of beetles before and now i Have a pet beetle
I’m just getting into terrariums and keeping invertebrates so this is the perfect channel for me :) subbed
I love this channel! been considering getting insects or something like that for a while because I've had rats for years but recently have decided I'll take a break from getting any more because they're very high maintainance and I'm quite busy haha :) So I've been doing some research into pets that don't require quite as much attention as rats do, and beetles and cockroaches have been something that interest me a lot :D
Just got a new western hercules beetle with a ox beetle about to pupae so this guide is definitely helpful your channel really helped me out as I was a noob going in to the beetle world
4:51 FACE PLANT!
I was staying in North Carolina for two months and found some fascinating beetles, snakes, plants, and toads! My favorite beetle out of all the ones I've caught here is my two Brown Prionid Beetles. They have scary mandibles, beautiful colors, and make a squeaking sound when poked. 😹 I actually found your channel searching for ways to sex them because they look the same, but one is wider (they might be two different species-). Even though your channel didn't have the answer to my problem, I'm still happy I found it! I just watched all your videos, and am looking forward to more! ❤️
Hi there! I just found your channel and it‘s awesome to see someone around my age getting into beetle breeding aswell! I think we need more young people that can make entertaining and interesting content like yours to get more people into this amazing hobby. I got my first larvae in april and they are hatching right now (dicronorhina derbyana derbyana)! I might start an Instagram channel where I can show the Imagos and new larvae/beetles on my beginner‘s journey ^^ will leave some usefull hints on your other videos. Great Job and keep going!:)
Ah thank you so much that really means a lot! Happy beetle keeping :)
Hey! Just discovered your channel- very informative! Keep making videos, please. 😍🐞

@@beetletv8980 Can you make a video on how to deal with mites? I brush them off my stag beetle every so often but they always come back even when I changed to coniferous substrate that they should hate.
@@lionofash7700 I get them on my pachnoda iskuulka and the only video I found said to put them under a tap to wash them off but that wouldn't be great for the beetles and the mites are also in the soil so it wont do anything long term also the mites don't seem to harm them too much
This video is awesome!
I want you to show your contents for our kids on our service.
I love your channel beetle TV and I love that you’re trying to educate people about how to care for beagles and also will you post more videos about how to care for beetle larva😊
Thanks! And sure, I'll look in to more larvae content :)
Finally found a clear video 🙋♀️...thanks for the information 😊 and do you still having your beetles ?
Nice video, although any suggestions for how to deal with heat? In winter, the coldest overnight temps where I am are around 15 Celsius, during the day its around 25. In summer, it can up to 33 indoors, but normally around 27-28. Is that ok? I do have aircon, but it doesn't really reach my bug-room. Any tips?
They're adorable ♥️
Great video on the basics of how to care for a beetle :) followed exactly as you said on this video once I found a wild stag beetle. Are there any 'don'ts' that stage beetle owners should be aware of?
Great videos so far dude! Keep it up!
Hi Amanda! Thank you very much that means a lot! :)
This is quite helpful! However, I DO wonder if you'll be covering dung beetles/scarabs? I have an interest in raising some of these, though outside of the staple of their dietary needs, I am a little in the dark regarding housing and maybe even larval care for these fantastic species of beetles (though the latter I know would be tricky due to breeding habits of these species).
Hello its me again i just want to say please comback to youtube again i want to learn for some tips for beetle keeping and and i am fan on this chanel please comback😢😢 and im still watching your videos every time even tho ive watch it already🥲
I got a Stag Beetle recently. It's my first one ever. I put it in it's new forever home a week after it came out of its Pupa and I haven't seen it since. It buried itself in leaf litter and dirt and tbh I don't even know if it's still alive =[.
Make sure to check it at night if you aren't already, a lot of beetles are nocturnal :)
@ahhh6328 thanks! :). Because of my job I'm usually awake until 4 a.m or so. I look I'm on it pretty regularly and see nothing :/. It's jelly is still untouched from when I put it in earlier this week :(
Great video thanks! How often should you feed the beetles? Is it just a constant food source?
Watching from Japan

Can you do a video on how to tell when your Rhino beetle is ready for pupation and how to set up a pupal cell? Thanks for the videos!
I put my rhino beetle larvae in a large container with substrate/flakesoils and just left it there for one month. No need for food because what it eats is the substrate, at first I was quite worried because I couldn't find him in the container, (because it was transparent). I checked on him and he had this huge pupal cell built on his own. He was a pupa when I checked him.
Subbed. Sad to see that you haven’t uploaded in a year.
and where did you get your dorcus antaeus from? are they friendly beetles?

I have a quiestion, every year, in summer, I go to Japan to get a ton of those amazing stag/rhino beetles! But I always live in California, which barely has any rhino/stag beetles, I would buy them online, but I’ve heard buying online in the USA seems illegal, I need some other ways to get them!

1:26 what song os that?
Found a rhino beetle last night and kept it in a glass jelly jar until I made a home for him today in a shoebox. The thing is last night he was very active trying to fly in the jar, today I´ve only seen him move once out of sheer luck, otherwise I thought he would be dead. Will he recover? In the shoebox I put some banana stick leafs and some small plants. Does he need to drink or does he get water from the fruit?
Cheeky bastard played dead and ran away. He dug through the shoebox bottom.
Thats a shame, might want to consider glass/plastic housing. Just got mine yesterday for my stag beetle
I have a rhino beetle and idk how to care for them so i watched this video

Im planning on getting beetles sometime soon, what are some easy beetles that don't fly, bite or smell? And where to get them?
A good beetle for beginners is the meal worm beetle. And you could normally find those online. You could get them as mealworms or as the adult form. The only problem I see with them is that when you touch them they release a bad smell. But they barely even need maintenance. Another good beetle for beginners that you can get is THE rhinoceros beetle. But they’re a lot more harder to find. All of the really friendly beetles I noticed are very hard to come by. The only way you could probably get rhinoceros beetles is you would have to buy the larva. But that is for most Beatles sadly.
How to sell stag beetle
Can you make another video
How can I sell it if I get Beetle
Hello man, how youre doing? I need an opinion on this substrate bro:
