I did a surprise trade and someone gave me a level 100 shiny ditto
Also a good way to tell is that ditto zigzags while walking, also if the "?" Doesn't appear over the meowths head, it's a ditto.
The fact the mass outbreaks don't work properly with ditto is infuriating
Do you know if they can work at all or if they currently never work? I did a zorua outbreak and it worked so is it just a ditto specific glitch?

I don’t think that ditto was shiny
if you have the game open too long, the ‘let’s go’ feature breaks and the pokemon just stands still

So, I have cracked the code of knowing a Ditto at a glance. I'm not really lucky with shiny Ditto encounters but there is a easy way of telling if it is a Ditto without checking the name with ZL.
So, I have been hunting with no luck for a long time, even before I got my shiny charm but I think this will help anyone who wants to find a Ditto or do the shiny hunting for Ditto.
First of all, almost all of these pokemon show a ? Or ! when getting near except for Tandemous.
Second, the Ditto tries to avoid facing you so they will never stop to face you, but Tandemous will stop and look up.
Third, they most of the time will walk in weird zig zag patterns and never stop except for some cases when they just stand and pose but there will not be any ! or ? signs and when you go somewhere else, they won't look at you or follow (most of em follow and just look at you).
Fourth, they will never spawn in drifloon or murcrow clusters or any other standart clusters.
Fifth, If you see a Drifblim alone, it is always a Ditto.
I think that is it, but I might have forgotten some. I hope this helps.
Oh, and If it sleeps under the tree and doesn't wake up when approaching, It's a Ditto
If you walk past meowths it will have a question mark over its head if its a ditto it will ignore you

I got it on my first sandwich yayyy- oh i failed it… i am currently on my 12 sandwich trying to get a 2nd one
There's tricks to telling if it's a Ditto. 1) Ditto ignore you and won't even acknowledge you, they walk by where as others will "!" and start following you.
2) Ditto are always at the "larger" end of the size scale.
3) This is the most telling... Ditto do not walk in straight lines. Where you'll see most meowth walk in straight lines and tandem hop or walk in a straight line, ditto walk in a zig-zag line.
I'm sure shiny ditto are a rare spawn... rarer than others. I've been hunting them off and on over the span of 4 days now and haven't found a single one.
If you dedicate yourself to hunting a shiny ditto... be sure to turn off auto save and save manually before making a sandwich... you'll save a lot of headache and aggravation with ingredients.

Hey everyone! Just want to add onto this but you can actually save before making youre sandwich and if you restart your game you get the ingredients back keep in mind that if you catch a shiny ditto and then reset that will disapear(make sure to turn off autosave if you use this method because if you dont turn it off your game might save for you and you will lose the ingredients)😊(edit:i made a spelling mistake sorry)

I started hunting Ditto today, my 3rd sandwich was about to ran out and I managed to find one, I freaked out and went into battle without my false swipe Pokemon, I threw about 30 pokeballs and it began to struggle, fortunately I got a critical capture but oh man I almost failed hard

A ditto will walk in circular motion vs regular pokemon that most likely walk straight. They also don't react and give no attention.

@@elleeats2701 the pokemon will not be shiny I think so if u see a pokemon that isn't shiny that ur pokemon refuses to kill then it's a ditto or zorua shiny

I've got the shiny charm and over 50 shinys exclusively with encounter 2 sandwiches (I'm horrible in raids) and have never bought a piece of tofu lol. Won't even buy it in a game
When my sandwhich finishes, can I just reset to my last save and keep trying, or will it just re give me the same non shinies just so I don't have to get more herba mystica

I'm pretty sure whether the ditto is shiny or not does not affect Masuda odds. Just that it is foreign.
