Whoa, that burger so huge! LOL. Nice video guys!
Nice video and good food. It was cool to see the street named "Remigio Crespo" that's my great grandfather. He has a statue in Cuenca-there is a description on wikipedia. Empanadas are the best. There are great with white cheese and then sugar on top. Sounds weird but are insane delicious!
omg i remember when i used to go for pan de yuca and yogurt... ufff riquisimo... thanks for the video guys ;)
You are absolutely right!!
Great video guys thanks for sharing! You did miss Burger King in the mall however.
Glad our video could help you out!

I like The Doors' music playing in the background.

Man, you guys know your food in Cuenca. I want to go there so badly and wonder if I can make it another year or so before my retirement. What a wonderful video and best wishes always, Lancer
I hope to visit Cuenca and am doing research. Great video--thank you for posting.
Thank you for making this video. We tried a few of these places. My favorite was Mercado 9 de Octubre. The tornado was spectacular and the while meal was only $2! Huge glasses of fresh fruit juice of your choice only $.50. My favorite place in Cuenca.
There are a lot of changes that I see, in contrast with the time that I live there, 9 years ago!
nice video guys .. thanks for sharing it and for the tips so when I go there I'll be prepared
THE BEST FOOD, IS FROM ECUADOR, LOVE IT
Thanks for a nice video. I like seeing people explore the local and imported foods in a city. I recall my final night in Spain, going with locals to experience a truly typical local evening: we started with Itallan espresso, then had Japanese sushi, then went to see a French film, then ate Italian gelato, then went to see Argentine tango show, then had another gelato. Una noche tipica! To have tapas, sangria and a flamenco show would be fine but that's what the tourists do every time.
cheers!
Hunter Mann Maybe the Spainards don't drink sangría or see Flamenco, but they do eat tapas.
There's this Facebook page called "Authentic Ecuadorian Food" where this lady posts pictures and recipes of her homemade traditional dishes, and I know how you feel, nothing satisfies like el sabor ecuatoriano!
I haven’t seen my family in Ecuador in such a long time and now I want food from there 🤪😫😫
You folks really did a nice job on this video. Those burgers looked really great, and I'm vegetarian.
nice video guys never been to Cuenca i live in Colorado but it seems like the the food and the life over there is so wonderfull
VERY GOOD IAM LOVE QUITO AND CUENCA
#ALLYOUNEEDISECUADOR
Good job....keep them comin!
GREAT VIDEO.
I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT CUENCA NEXT YEAR.
Awesome Guys!
Wonderful video
great! que rico
We wish! lol, thanks for the compliment.
Holy crap now I'm hungry and boy the hamburgers are HUGE. My favorite juice is Naranjilla, nectar of the God's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
buenísimo
Cool video, thanks
We were renting an apartment for $150/month. Food might cost you $5-30/day, depending on how tight your budget is.
You are making me miss ec
You can find apartments from $150 (dollars) per month. It depends on the area you want to live. If you want to buy a house you can get from $50,000 and up
You should try the restaurant "Good Affinity ", I think it's over by calle Las Americcas . Great healthy food .One of my favorite places when I lived in Cuenca .
Is not a rat , is a guinea pig . The difference is huge .
Besides , nobody eats rats in Ecuador , because we have a lot of food .
This is Cuenca , the number ONE city of the world in its class , not a poor
city of Africa or Middle East .
And that is just the tip of the iceberg on foods. You missed the fruterias, queso de hoja, chicha de jora, pan de doña isolina, kimbolitos, etc etc.
Hi Linda. We're not in Cuenca anymore, but it would've been awesome to meet up with you guys!
I think Habibi's is now Arabe. I thought I saw a sign for Habibi's on Don Bosco.
this video is very informative and would serve me well in locating great eats if I ever decide travel to that wonderful part of Ecuador. I am really considering traveling there soon due to my interest in maybe future residency. Do you folks still live there? if so make some more videos of other stuff like nature, nightlife, dos and donts.
Niccee
It's usually made with sheep's meat, but it can also be made from chicken.
Of course food is her focus. Look at her!
nice
NICE VIDEO...!!! I Love Cuenca... WTF Am I Doing here eating Wendy's in New York...???
i agree with you Diego me to WTF i am doing in Canada
Lots of great foods for vegetarians in latin America, but I think you have to be a little flexible when it comes to the lard or dairy that gets into some foods. I raw-food vegan will probably have to just shop in the mercado and eat in their hotel room in many cities.
My country
You guys should work for the food channel.
Ecuadro I LOVE U♥
My wife is originally from Cuenca. Nobody on the planet makes empanadas as good as she does. She makes them with feta cheese and spring onions. The pastry is not oily but slightly crisp on the outside. When I was in Cuenca the empanadas were not as good as hers. They are more greasy and empty inside.
whats this beat thats playing at the end ??
I am a Canadian who has been living in Morocco for the last 3 years. I'm thinking I might like the weather in Ecuador better. Would you please tell me how much monthly rent I might pay (in $) for an average one-bedroom apartment in Cuenca? I'm not looking for luxury. Thanks very much.
You guys didn't mention anything about prices.
Is there ATM's or must you carry cash all the time???
How many of those brews did you drink?
Yo quiero una shawarna
que carajo like 2018
Stop it you are torturing me. I can't get that delicious food in New York. OMG!!
Prices??? Need prices on everything that you guys eat. Please, if you do another food video say what the prices are. Like that MONGO HUGE burger. Must have cost a fortune!
We did this video a few years back, so prices aren't likely to be the same, but with the exception of the cuy, everything was dirt cheap by NorthAmerican standards.
I've eaten there and the burgers are around $5. Yes, they ARE that big.
how come everywhere you go you seem alone...where are the Cuencans? :)
Are you guys still in Cuenca? We are there May 1, for 10 days and would love to do a meet up. you can check us on facebook as aswesawit is our page. If still there and want to meet, please let us know. Thanks.
Please show seafood choices!
We have it all and Ecuador and Peru are the birth place of Ceviche it's a known FACT despite what others say. :D
Did you visit the oasis or brisas del mar men? Jajajaj
HEY GIRL WHERE YOU FROM????
Demasiado “coford” food, they should try more veggies, but beer is ok, hehe
Eat the empanadas 100 percent ecuardorian
How about seafood? It seems that if you don't like meat...you're pretty much screwed.
did that lady just serve food with her bare hands.......
lol, yeah! But you have to realize they are washed at start of the day and all day her hands just are serving food. So its not that big a deal. I used to work at a few restaurants like Chilli;s and trust me you dont wanna know what goes back there lol. Once some steaks fell on the floor but since it was busy the manager just picked it off and put it back and said "Go!".
Josho4096 that so true Man. I worked for apple bees and many little restaurants, and they all are the same. At the rush, you don't have two minutes to start over an steak , when you have so many other thing to do. I'm glad you share what really going on behind the kitchen. Good luck.
Daz so goss! We have guinea pigs as pets here! Never cared for qui!
there are muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better places to eat in cuenca :/
Great! Feel free to share some of your favorite spots in the comments so others will know where to go for the best food in Cuenca!
koichiafable :D of course! If you like burgers you can go to Chill and Grill on av.Jose Peralta or Inca Lounge. La Marea is a great pizza place!!! For hornado I recomend to go to the market in gualaceo, is not Cuenca, But they have THE BEST HORNADO in Ecuador.
Pamela Urgiles
Thanks for the suggestions! I remember the burgers at Inca Lounge being very good. As for the others, we'll have to try them on our next trip. :)
Pamela Urgiles thanks Pamela , I'm going to Ecuador the next week, I have to try the pizza place, saludos
whats was that a rat???
it's a 3r world country it's not for me you couldn't pay me to live there. tell them about the crime rate.
