My husband and I have visited Cuenca, and now we will move there to be expats in August. We love the ambience, but we especially like the low prices. We will be able to live in Cuenca on our retirement money with some left over. We love the restaurants and the museums. Thanks for a great video.
My husband and I lived in Cuenca as expats for 10 years. We loved the beauty of the spanish architecture, the 4 rivers running thru the city with amazing walking paths, the culture, the gorgeous weather, the wonderful people, the fantastic restaurants and the reasonable cost of living. We had to leave because of my husband's declining health, and our family's desire to have him closer. Highly recommend spending time in this jewel of a city, in a wonderful country.
Hi Leanne. That is what I keep seeing. Most expats have to return for health reasons. I hope I can get lots of time overseas. Currently 55 and will retire at 58. It is down to Spain or Cuenca

My wife and I moved here about 2 years ago. We actually have a home up in the mountains about 17 km SW of Cuenca but obviously go to Cuenca for shopping, doctors, eating out, etc. We chose Cuenca for the weather (don't like extreme heat or cold), the beautiful surroundings and cost of living. Enjoyed your video!

Cuenca is a great place to spend time in Ecuador just chilling out in a small city. The river that runs through it adds charm and the many restaurants, markets, churches and buildings, make it fun to explore.
Great video of Cuenca! My gf moved there from here in the US about 5 years ago, still comes here over our holiday season for a couple months. But I HAVE TO point out to you....... about those beautiful blue domes topping the cathedral, the tiles for them were donated to Cuenca by Czechoslovakia during the construction of the cathedral! My gf is Czech, so that has even more meaning to us! She really loves Cuenca, though the cold climate does not really agree with her! But yes, Cuenca is a very special place, a Unesco World Heritage site, definately should be on any one's travel list of musts!
