THAT IS VERY MUCH A CHICK THING!! I have played with many GREAT female players over the years and they ARE different from playing with guys. They tend to dress better and match clothes and gear. They play with more emotion than most males, which often translates to a different sound. Most importantly, they try harder when you treat them respectfully and as equals and are loyal to the project.
The thing I love most about this is that while most amateur guitarists obsess about their guitars, pedals, amps, set-ups, strings, blah, blah, blah, Shermy and Nicole acknowledge the imperfections of their guitars, and then rock out on them. Good lesson here. Stop obsessing about the gear and friggin' practice your playing. Thanks for posting these videos. I'm curious how you get your sound.
Thank you ladies you look and sound fab as usual. Love the tone of these Guitars. Thanks for bring me cheer during these difficult times. Really hoping to see you in England one day. BTW Shermy you look so cute wearing pigtails ❤️❤️
Great tune. I like how you got your excuses in early regarding the guitars. We all started off with what we could afford before knowing what we really wanted. Keep the couch surfing coming
Awesome video! We had a band in high school from '70-'72. Our guitar player had a sunburst model. True to form it wouldn't stay in tune & the intonation was terrible, BUT he LOVED that guitar! U guys sound great, hope to hear you live someday-post Covid...
Sweet! Love the old Harmony guitars. I have a 1963 Harmony Stratotone Holiday. Those old foil pickups have a sound of their own. They do have quirks but what a joy to play.
My cat likes to lay his cheek and throat against the top of my Strat's neck. He likes to feel the vibration. And doesn't care at all that his head is an obstacle. He figures I can just improvise around him. I love the 60.'s vibe of those drop dead beautiful Harmony's and as always you guys sound incredible. Thank you for sharing !
I swapped an amp I had in the attic for years for a 1958 Harmony Stratotone with 2 pickups. My Pal Roy had it for a year rebuilding it. It's got 'that' thing. Love it. Enjoyed the video.
My grandmother got me one of those Harmony guitars with S&H Green Stamps back in 1969. I think her tounge wore out licking all those stamps. I recently found an old Silvertone 15W tube amp at the dump and took it home. The power supply was toast. You could smell it. I found a Fender amp power supply that was really close to the original power supply specs. Now I wish I still had that Harmony guitar. Enjoyed your song ladies, look forward to hearing it in-person some day. Hope you can get out and play to a packed audience soon. Live music is the best!!
OMG! My Mom got me an acoustic (my first) guitar with S&H. I kept breaking strings because I didn't know how to tune it. The strings were about half an inch away from the fretboard. Frustrated, I Pete Townshened it in my bedroom doorway. Took another stab at it with an electric and have been playing for 50 years. When I saw this vid I just got done playing some slide on a Harmony identical to Nicole's. It has the whammy bar like the other one though. There are probably thousands of green stamp guitar stories.
The most beautiful ladies in a band today . Thank you for keeping this style of music alive. Hearing your band play takes people back to a time that was so super cool . I was born at the end of that Era but was still able to grow up hearing the surfer sound ♥️♥️♥️🤟
Thanks for these gear segments! I'd love to see a complete rig rundown with all of your pedals, amps, etc. and why you chose each piece. Keep up the great work!
My dad got the Airline brand version for Christmas in 1966 along with a Valco 5 Watt 1x12 combo. It looks very nearly like Nichole’s, and is quite fun to play, intonation issues aside. Love them gold foils!
I have a 1964 H14 and it plays and sounds wonderful I really don't have any problems with the intonation... From what I understand these guitars were sold by montgomery wards out of the catalog and sears had the silver tone. They have no truss rod but my neck is straight as an arrow very comfortable lightweight and easy to play as you say did the arm and gold foil pickups are instant Robert Cray plugged directly into a Fender... I have tens of thousands of dollars wrapped up in guitars and I bought my bobkat at an antique/thrift store with the matching amp for $250 it holds its own against any of my other guitars and has a tone unique to itself. This guitar makes me second guess any of my other purchases... it's obvious that a great guitar can be made and stand the test of time for an affordable price. Oh and you two are beautiful I just want to bring my bobkat and hang out in the room with you 🥰
Awesome. Those guitars are hard to play. I used to have one. Look at it cross and it would fly out of tune. L! You girls wrangle them good. Much love from down south in southern New Mexico USA.
I have a Bobcat like Nicole that I bought after having a red one I bought for $40 at a pawnshop for years and loved it. They’re quirky but very 60s cool. Love your vids.
I had a BobKat many years ago. I changed the tuners & solved the intonation issue! I upgraded to a Harmony Rocket & changed the tuners as well. Great video!
These "couch surfin" segments are great! Been a fan for a few months. Did I miss one though, where you talk about your amps and any effects? For everything you said were shortfalls of these guitars, they sound fantastic together.
This was awesome and thanks! I bought my red 1966 Airline Bobkat in '19 after learning about the brand from Jack White and Dan from the Black Keys. I read articles about their love of them. After getting and having it set up, this thing was great. Those D'Armonds are fantastic and soooooo loud. Had to turn the amp volume down after plugging this in. Surprisingly, it stays in tune pretty well. Thanks again for sharing!
I already love my Harmony Bobkat to death but that fact that you guys are rocking them too makes its all the more special, big fan of your work in music !!
Having grown up in Southern Cal and Hawaii as a beach bum Moondoggie along with my siblings, we ALL have loved "Surf Music" and it's part of my DNA first and foremost. My oldest brother had a Bobkat when we were growing up and he was Rad on that Beast. I continue to stay groovy and strut as I'm hoping All Of The Surfajettes and their Fans are doing too! Cheers
Funny. I've got a late 90's Danelectro U2, with the same cat bite marks on a couple of tuning keys. I know exactly what cat did it too. Lol. Love you guys!!
Just happened upon your channel. Glad I did! I love this style of music. Was my dad's go to style on the guitar. I'm a big Ventures fan. Also love Chris Isaak, Brian Setzer, any surf and rockabilly. Keep up the great music and thanks for helping to keep this style alive.
SO nice to see young Adults keeping this music style alive and vibrant in todays world.
The Surfrajettes just make me smile 😁
I like that they're color-coordinated with their respective guitars.
Yes! The shirts says it all xD
Sooweeeeeeet
That's one of the advantages of watching female musicians with fine taste and sensitivity.

Shannon, I will ro just that!
That was cool! Love you, Shermy and Nicole! Love the Surfragettes!❤️
Thanks, ladies, for a warm, colorful video to watch on a cold, snow-packed day. And of course, your music is way cool.
I appreciate that you kept the guitars all original - they certainly have their own vibe even if they aren't the most reliable. Rock on ladies!
Thanks for staying in touch and sharing more about your gear and history! Looking forward to your next video.
I could listen to you play all day. Just really great.
tubular! that was a great live performance at the end! awesome tune. nice matching guitars too, girls, keep up the cool videos.
Thank you ladies you look and sound fab as usual. Love the tone of these Guitars. Thanks for bring me cheer during these difficult times. Really hoping to see you in England one day. BTW Shermy you look so cute wearing pigtails ❤️❤️
Love your music and look forward to each video. Keep it up.
You two stunningly beautiful and talented ladies always bring a smile to my face!🤗😍
Great band. Never stop playing!
Can't enough of you both since you two are so captivating with your melodic playing with intriguing dynamics and fun energy!
I love the tone ! Great! 🍻👍🏄
Love it, just love it. great that you like music from that era and bringing it back. Bravo!
Great tune. I like how you got your excuses in early regarding the guitars. We all started off with what we could afford before knowing what we really wanted. Keep the couch surfing coming

I'm really enjoying these Couch Surfing episodes. I can't wait to see you live when this is over!
Thank you, a great way to take your mind off all the stuff that's going on and enjoy two very talented young ladies.
Always a huge "upper" when you guys provide us with another video. Very authentic sound. I had one as teen. Wish the heck I'd kept it. Thank You!!
My cat likes to lay his cheek and throat against the top of my Strat's neck.

He figures I can just improvise around him.
I love the 60.'s vibe of those drop dead beautiful Harmony's

I love that you play "Cha-Cha Heels" at the end! One of my favorites!
I swapped an amp I had in the attic for years for a 1958 Harmony Stratotone with 2 pickups. My Pal Roy had it for a year rebuilding it. It's got 'that' thing. Love it. Enjoyed the video.
Two of my favorite beautiful ladies and very talented
guitar players
A very great admirer from the Netherlands
Thank you ladies for the background information and the performance to cap things off.
Have a good weekend.

Yeah, I remember my grandmother filling out those stamp books. The stamps would come out of dispensers at the supermarket checkouts. Long time ago.
OMG! My Mom got me an acoustic (my first) guitar with S&H. I kept breaking strings because I didn't know how to tune it. The strings were about half an inch away from the fretboard. @@sunsparkle8443 Cleaning out my MIL's estate we found books of S&H green stamps in a desk drawer.
same here, but around 1966
Love what you do, and thank you for sharing your sounds with all of us. Definitely brightened my day!😀
The most beautiful ladies in a band today . Thank you for keeping this style of music alive. Hearing your band play takes people back to a time that was so super cool . I was born at the end of that Era but was still able to grow up hearing the surfer sound ♥️♥️♥️🤟
Oh yeah another chatting video, love it and your home.
I love both of you so much. Thanks for keeping surf alive😛

Excellent! Its great to see you! Some chuck berry, teenage wedding. I'm very proud of you !
Love the sound of those pickups. Nice song.

I LOVE IT! You ladies rock, I love these videos you do and I will follow your progress and watch what ever you post. Thank you
I'm so glad I found the surfrajettes!!! You guys are AMAZING
My first amp was a sears silvertone that I found at a garage sale. Same brand as your guitars. Very cool song.
That was really fantastic ladies of Surf!!!! Diggin' those surf rock sounds-- you guys are inspiring!
Love your style. If we ever get back to something like normal I would really like to see you guys live. You always make me have a better day.
Absolutely love you girls! Great tunes . Fun videos. I dig this channel so much. ❤❤❤
Great work ladies. Wishing you huge success and enjoyment in your work.
My dad got the Airline brand version for Christmas in 1966 along with a Valco 5 Watt 1x12 combo. It looks very nearly like Nichole’s, and is quite fun to play, intonation issues aside. Love them gold foils!
You ladies just have that surf vibe down. Great playing, and the guitar sounds are excellent. I could listen to that background song all day.
But what is it. I've read where readers ask what it is but so far no one's identified it. Is it another Damoff/Freeman original?
Really really cool to hear you too talking so passionately about your instruments
Very cool, ladies! Hi from Scarborough Ontario!

Thank You Ladies...Hope to catch you live someday..But, for now, thanks to UA-cam !!!
I have a Bobcat like Nicole that I bought after having a red one I bought for $40 at a pawnshop for years and loved it. They’re quirky but very 60s cool.
Love your vids.
Great guitars and I love the tone. Nice to know that not only us old dudes appreciate that kind of sound! ❤❤❤
LOVE THEM!!! So much fun to see you ladies playing. Looking forward to the next video ❤👍😊😊😊
Ladies it's time to get a Mosrite--a baby blue for Shermy and a purple one for Nicole. Now that would be completely badass!
Best guitars ever
Dillion makes an excellent copy of the Mosrite, and a lot more affordable.
And they can exercise lifting weights at the same time.
Thank you Shermy and Nicole, for your explanations, and a nice demonstration of your song, with a great sound, congratulations and see you soon?
Cool Bobcats! I have a blue one myself. Keep the videos coming.
It's great watching you both jam on your guitars! Thanks for the video!!
I had a BobKat many years ago. I changed the tuners & solved the intonation issue! I upgraded to a Harmony Rocket & changed the tuners as well. Great video!
They sound great together, that hypnotic tone, so captivating. Canada's first lady's of surf. Jess wonderful.

Love guitars from this era- thanks for sharing this!!!
You girls are great. Hope to see you when things come back to, a bit more, normal.
Thank you ladies! I've forgotten how much fun surf guitar is! :)
BRAVO BRAVO You Really Made Me Go Back To Sunny Southern California Beach Those Years 1960
Those gold foil pickups have TONS of mojo! Awesome video!
Whoah those are super cool, warts and all.
Love the barbie guitars....You'all jam out pretty nice...love your tunes..
