Great effort but the woman that plays Archer, why is she acting like that, she ruins the credibility. It's so unprofessional, so much NOT like an officer, she might as well be chewing gum and painting her nails. She belongs in a night club or playing a Valley girl, not playing a character on "Star Trek".

Just want to say that I love Commander Mason. His dry, sometimes out-of-place humour makes the whole production very tongue-in-cheek, and it makes for a very enjoyable watch! CGI, sets, props, clothes, and production values are really high quality. Great job!
Another "fan production" easily as good as some of the pros. I love the premise: building on an event from TOS and running with it. The Trek universe is a big one, and polished stories like this show that depth. Sets and effects are virtually flawless, acting a little uneven, but not enough to distract from the flow. Very well done.
Wow. This is good. This is REALLY good. Feels just like a classic episode - interesting plot, good writing, good acting!! As a TOS devotee I heartily approve. 👍🏻👍🏻
I was at the premier of this film. This is my favorite Star Trek Fan Production I have seen in quite a while. It was produced on my home sets (which I am so glad are once again in good, community-oriented hands), now called Stage 9 Studios. It involves the work of my friends Samuel Cockings and Vance Major. And, it has an element of TOS that I have always enjoyed throughout my life - it makes me laugh. There are so many great cultural references. The production team did an excellent job of making a visually pleasing film, without taking themselves too seriously. I am not a stickler for canon as much as I am for entertainment value - and this film delivers. And, a quick side note, we learned at the premier that the actor playing Commander Mason does an amazing Marty McFly.
Star Trek Channel, Ha! I’m glad you liked my McFly! I’m actually a professional Michael J. Fox lookalike-impersonator. I’m so glad you enjoyed Ghost Ship and that you got to be among the first public audience to see it. Thank you for the feedback!
Brilliant! Always wondered about the aftermath and cleanup crew when Daystrom & M5 had their nervous breakdowns. Reminds me of an old "Motion Picture" era Trek comic book where the zombified ghosts of the USS Constellation crew haunt Capt. Will Decker for his dad's errors.
Very good, humor, action and mystery all in one. I wondered what happened to the Excalibur after M5 shot it up. I hope there will be more such films like this. Far better than what is put on TV now and at the Movies. Well done Avalon Universe, well done.

@@tydunivan Well done, but I was wondering if it was part of the standard curriculum at Starfleet Academy, or is it an elective for Starfleet personnel wanting to be in on the whole Starfleet Legend (TM) programme. This would possibly explain why what came after TOS followed a path of diminishing returns i.e. not enough shoulder rolling. It would also explain why Galaxy Quest was so good. I don't think Tim Allen stood straight in the entire film, in case he was called upon to roll at short notice. Words to think about for future productions.😀
Absolutely fantastic, never thought I'd see the day zombies would fit in the Star Trek Universe but you folks pulled it off with a beautifully well done story, would love to see USS Excalibur NCC-1705 continue as a Fan Series, well done job all involved, Vance Major Owen and Leslie great jobs as well my friends

Wow. An alternate-universe Star Trek where the director was Ed Wood.
Very well done. I'm one of those that feels like commercial Trek died when Enterprise went off the air. The fan films seem to be the only ones who respect Star Trek. This is the heart of where modern Star Trek Lives.
1:00 That Desk Lamp looks familiar. Didn't they use the same lamps on that big conference table at Starfleet Command in the beginning of Star Trek: VI The Undiscovered Country.
@@avalonuniverse6327 I just watched this cool fan film for the second time. The sets are fantastic and it is well written but what impressed me most was the acting. The first mate seemed to be a mighty sailing woman and the Captain was obviously brave and sure. The engineer had legs that went on forever. But seriously I think the acting was very good and the humor was spot on. You can have the best digitally created ships in the fan film world but you are not leaving Space Dock unless you have a crew with some acting talent. Oh, and the Captain doing the " Kirk Body Roll " was awesome. I will look for your other work.
I like this Commander, he has just enough of a attitude that he takes most everything with a grain of salt and understands the BS factor. Looks to be a good series if CBS keeps their hands off it.
Summer Rose Sutton That kind of bugged me though. His subordinates mock him to his face and are openly insubordinate. He comes across as a fairly incompetent officer as a result.
*Summer Rose Sutton* There won't be a series. CBS's rules say no more than 30 minutes at most, and no sequels. (Two parters are allowed, so long as you don't go over 30 minutes total.) @michael reynolds That's one way of describing it. I'm simply stating what the facts are...the facts about a situation CBS created, but really could be viewed as necessary, due to what...someone...did.
Nice little film. I never did anything near as good when in film school. All my critiques have already been mentioned. It is almost tempting to dust off the script writing skills and send something in. I'm looking forward to more installments. Liked and subscribed.
This is one of the best fan productions I have seen, using the full-scale "Star Trek Continues" sets, and I am not just saying this because the space ship and other action CG shots provided by non other than my own son, Samuel Cockings. Its a great action romp, with quite a good dose of black humour thrown in, ideally timed for a Halloween release :) Quite possibly the best fan production since "Star Trek Continues."
We have to remember that the CBS president really don't care for Syfy so doing discovery totally different than what they should have is partly possibly to destroy Star trek in my opinion
My opinion may not be that popular since many comments seem to come from people who know the production staff. However I think the graphics excellent and the production value overall is very well done. I thought the mix of so many uniforms confusing though. It's like watching Generations where the crew seemed to just wear whatever the hell they wanted. My biggest critique however is the sub-par acting from the engineer. I realize Trek almost demands a level or techno-babble but it sounds as if she's just saying words and doesn't believe in what she's saying.
Avalon Universe as a long time TOS fan, I was wondering where/when the prime TOS universe and this universe split, or will it be revealed at a later date?
cuttersboi08 even the ST:Generations Playmates figures had the concept uniforms, not the ones in the film, and uniform continuity took a hit in that film for sure.
Acting was better than I could bring to the table, that being said... I noticed on more than one occasion she struggled with her lines. Still an enjoyable watch and looking very forward to the next installment.
Great work. Star Trek meets The Walking Dead. 👍 No respect for the dead in the Star Trek universe. At least the Army has Graves & Registration that deals with the dead bodies. Not just leave them on a abandoned ship in space.
nice project. an enjoyable watch. I cringed at the character's decision of "lets not make a safe shuttle landing, but rely on the transporter of a damaged ship that has dodgy power". lol.
Yes I agree about the use of the transporter because I was thinking if something happens to the transporter how are you going to get back in the shuttle? I kept thinking why aren't you using the docking bay? The storyline could've remained the same pretty much.
Small nitpick: away team is a term I don't think I ever heard used in the original series. It's a TNG term. Also, it refers to "away" from the mother ship, where everyone else in the crew stays. In this case, there is no mother ship to be away from. You should have just said "take a small team aboard." Also, what's with the wrong style uniforms?
It's very refreshing to see a well produced fan made Star Trek film again!! I didn't know if I would ever see another good fan film after the New rules came out. Kudos and great work to all that worked on this project. Even though I have not seen the second segment yet, I already know it was with just as much love and passion as the first segment!! 😎
@Evilmike42 Maybe. That wuold also explain why they mix the original uniforms with the ones from the Abramsverse and also the rankstripes. And there are more questions. First Officer James Laws was in his quarters but his place during Action Stations should be on the bridge. Don't misunderstand, I think this fan-movie is really good, not to say outstanding
The quality is high here. Well done. I’m a little confused on why the Sub-Prime Uniforms are being used side by side with the Prime uniforms. Also did anyone reach out to Captain Nelson, Joseph Kerezmen, over at Star Trek Excalibur for guest spots? His production had been on hold for a while but it would have been a fun touch to see them here.
Destiny Captain This is an alternate universe, neither Prime or Kelvin, which is why the Uniforms are different. Sort of a “Parallels” thing. We are not in any way affiliated with Joseph Kerezmen, but we wish him good luck with his endeavors.
Yes, as Avalon Universe says, these films are not related to Captain Nelson’s Excalibur. But have seen that film and enjoyed it. I hope they are able to make more.
I thought I commented on this episode years ago when it first came out, but since I don't see my comment anywhere... Came back to watch Avalon from the start to refresh my memory about the "subspace marriage" mentioned in Cosmic Stream -- seeing the beginning of the shuttle trip, now I remember, lol. And boy do I love a good zombie story. I've always wanted to do a zombie story in Trek. I mean, I crossed over with Space: 1999 successfully, why not zombies? Anyhoo, I love this story as much today as I did when I first saw it.
I would like to see a Star Trek : The Next Generation fan film . It would not have to be set on Enterprise -D . Just in the next generation time frame .
This guy looks like Michael J. Fox when he grew up. I keep thinking its going to be a comedy. Even so, very watchable and brilliant work for a group of fans to put together. Why do the big studios struggle with rubbish writers when there is such talent out there?

Evil Ash It also seems unlikely that a commander would allow his lieutenant (especially the one he isn’t friends with) to be so openly insubordinate.
Yes I agree about the use of the transporter because I was thinking if something happens to the transporter how are you going to get back in the shuttle? I kept thinking why aren't you using the docking bay? The storyline could've remained the same pretty much.
There's such a loveable quality to this : )
Small nitpick: away team is a term I don't think I ever heard used in the original series. It's a TNG term. Also, it refers to "away" from the mother ship, where everyone else in the crew stays. In this case, there is no mother ship to be away from. You should have just said "take a small team aboard." Also, what's with the wrong style uniforms?
Commander Mason is a great blend of humor and sarcasm....very watchable and hopefully we can see some future episodes.
Poor Excalibur, always getting the shit kicked out of her! Great vid!
Joseph Kent Thank you!
Why are they all wearing the Enterprise-Badge on the uniform? Each Starship in this aera had hins own, individual badge.
Very enjoyable. Should have made Archer have Vulcan ears so we could all debate whether or not she was T'Pol's granddaughter as well.
Absolutely excellent in every respect. Above and beyond.
Well done guys! Love the TOS fan films!
Overall excellent; sound design in particular is really well done.
Hello from Germany and great work!
You're amazing Christina! Thank you so much for your kind words!
Super cool this is awesome
Thank you Avalon Universe!! Hopes for more!!!!
I would like to see a Star Trek : The Next Generation fan film . It would not have to be set on Enterprise -D . Just in the next generation time frame .
Man you guys can be writers for some of the new trek series. Your stuff is on par and better than whats currently out. Keep up the good work.
Calvin Thank you for your kind words
This guy looks like Michael J. Fox when he grew up. I keep thinking its going to be a comedy. Even so, very watchable and brilliant work for a group of fans to put together. Why do the big studios struggle with rubbish writers when there is such talent out there?
I noticed his resemblance too.
Really good effort. As characters you look very credible and great too. One of the best fan versions I have seen so far.
The girl that plays the science officer is beautiful!
