MTV was out but MJ was the first black artist they showed and played on heavy rotation starting with Billie Jean and Thriller. What MTV said was that Black Artists weren’t considered "rock enough" so he definitely made MTV and paved the way for aaaa looooooot of artists that came after him. 🐐
Thriller is still the number 1 biggest selling album in history. The video is 42 years old. My age lol He did this song at Motown 25 in 1983, and out of the blue did the moonwalk. The next day Michael Jackson took off to another galaxy! Great reaction, much love to you both! Hee Hee! Do more MJ!!
album was 'Thriller'. watched the official release of the song 'Thriller' when it first came out, this was a breakthrough in the industry, at a time when music videos started coming out and MJ lead the charge with this and creativity. he achieved a lot just from touring, MTV etc at a time when the internet was not around. This album just cemented his solo career as a musical genius. note he did solo songs as at a very young age when he was still with the Jackson 5, and he did bring out earlier albums as a solo performer, the big one being 'Off the Wall', but this one (Thriller) was the one that he hit right out into the stratosphere and I would hazzard a guess that gave him the status as the King of Pop. This song, Billie Jean, was on that album which was a hit. This was an era that we had the two MJ's - Michael Jackson and Michael Jordon. Just tell your son to think about the hype for Taylor Swift fans, and then double that (I reckon) for anywhere in the world, that was how popular he was and is (music wise anyway).
Love that you teach your son about Michael 🤩Greetings from Germany! (I grew up in rural Germany and became an MJ fan for life in 1987 when I first heard THAT VOICE on our kitchen radio 😍) Michael Jackson has been and is loved around the world😍
45 year old white man here and I must say Michael Jackson is the greatest musician entertainer dancer ever a true goat rest in peace goat it is funny the crazier you seem to be the more people like you maybe because we're all crazy
Thriller was my first official music album that I asked for. My older sister had the vinyl, and I got a Sony Walkman for Christmas and I got the cassette. Every song on it was good.. Though I mainly wanted at the time for Beat It. I also believe that the band who recorded the music in the studio was mostly comprised of the band Toto (Africa). Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, does a nice cover of Billie Jean but its a bit slower tempo.
love seeing you interact with your son. it reminds me of my son and i sharing music and comparing the differences with music from 80 and 90 to the newer stuff now . New subscriber.
I’m not absolutely certain but I think that there was a sequel to this song. It’s been a long time since I heard this stuff. I found what I was remembering. It was Lydia Murdock singing “I’m Billie Jean and I’m Mad As Hell”. It’s also named “Superstar” and it’s her only hit song.
Handsome boy Krizz. Thank you for passing on the knowledge.🤘 Swag was the word my 30 yr old daughter told me what rizz meant when my 14 yr old granddaughter said it. Macking makes sense to me, too.😂 Great song by MJ, cool video, too.
One of the best! This was an incredible video and along with "Beat it", skyrocketed MJ and MTV into the stratosphere. Videos were so new and most were either live on stage or just weird because the budgets were so small. These videos by MJ took them to a new level. He was also the first black artist that MTV played (by force). Sony Epic CEO, Walter Yetnikoff was pissed that MTV wouldn't play him, knowing how big the album THRILLER would be if given the play. He threatened to pull all of his other white artists off of the channel if they didn't and so they agreed and it was the best thing MTV could have done. Sadly, it had to be this way.
This is a song about his bio child Brandon Howard. Michael had a baby with Mickey Howard. Brandon is amazing. Records, producer, song writer. Looks like Michael, sounds like Michael, dances like Michael. Grew up with the Jackson family. Check out Brandon. See where he Michael yells in the song, Don’t think twice. The baby’s eyes looked like mine. There has been a DNA test. He is Michael’s only bio child. Look him up!
Christmas my dad bought me Thriller album. The next Christmas he gave me Thriller again. He said, “what’s the latest Michael Jackson album?” Thriller came up slowly song by single. I took album to a dance for “Beat It” Original social media network there
I was 13 when he performed this live on the Motown and we we're all trying the moonwalk the next day...failing miserably i might add 😅Check out Dirty Diana live. BTW you're Son is very handsome 😊 Great reaction and Peace out guys ☮️ ✌️ 🙏 Holy Moly 117,000 subs. Great job 👏 👍
Michael stated in an interview that the song Billie Jean is about his brother Tito Jackson and a situation he had where a woman was claiming he was the father of her child when Tito has never met the woman ever in his life.
According to his biography MJ never met “Billy Jean” this woman claimed MJ was the father to one of her twins. I agree many rumors, and so many who believe whatever they hear through the rumor mill. regardless MJ is a legend and my opinion is he earned the respect that should be put on his name and legacy! Luv the reviews, keep em coming 😊
It actually happened to his brother Jackie. Their Mom went down to talk to the girl at the gates of their home. Jackie was never with her. Have him check out Dirty Diana
Okay I could be wrong but it looks like people are kind of hitting the point here and there but when MTV came out all they did was play music videos 24 hours a day 7 days a week and at first there wasn't that many videos in rotation but as it caught on obviously it became more obviously Michael Jackson was a big hit on MTV especially with his videos transforming the media along with some other bands like aha and a few others you know but yeah I would thriller and moonwalker which pretty much became short movies at one point in time a few others he's done and then there's his brothers he retained up with so on and so forth but yeah MTV started doing sections like yo MTV raps and headbangers ball and then they did the spring break thing for a while but as this was going on throughout the time period they started adding shows like Beavis and Butthead the young ones celebrity death match and I know there was a game show and I can't remember what its name was but I am absolutely positively sure if it went for MTV on the majority of groups that I listen to and that are so popular or were so popular might not even heard of most of them now back before MTV there were other shows that had videos before Nickelodeon really start branching out into kids stuff at night they would have videos of different groups similar damn TVs for Matt I think is like an hour or two and then there was night flight solid gold and I forget what else besides you know American bandstand and soul train we really got to think the pioneers of music and the bands of old otherwise I might not be watching you now and you might be doing something else maybe an architect or who knows
"I heard about prince" [Screams in generation x nerd] holy shit you got to play ebery single prince song for that kid!!!!! He needs prince in his life.
The actually originally wouldn’t even play MJ. Because he was a Black Artist, they did while biting their tongues due to record company and viewer pressure..
KRISS You Missed IT !😢😢 "BILLIE " Is female Spelling instead Of BILLY. And You also Mistook Word as SON. Its SUN. Song is Saying Girl IS NOT My SUN !!😂😂😂
swaggy is my favorite flow in all ways lol be it cadence or character lol it's just fun to watch how it affects people since it generally leaves people smilin ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
there is no way to ever explain the feel , mood , vibe , hysteria MJ caused when this dropped. it was like music was reborn to many
MTV was out but MJ was the first black artist they showed and played on heavy rotation starting with Billie Jean and Thriller. What MTV said was that Black Artists weren’t considered "rock enough" so he definitely made MTV and paved the way for aaaa looooooot of artists that came after him. 🐐
I remember David Bowie asking them why they weren't showing black artists and not being that impressed with the answer he got.
@ yeah they were pretty open about how they felt about black artists and their music. Glad MJ came and proved them wrong! 👏🏼

Yes show him the 25th motown show live when we all first saw the moonwalk!!!! You dont see Michael really dancing in this video💞✌️
Love that you teach your son about Michael 🤩Greetings from Germany! (I grew up in rural Germany and became an MJ fan for life in 1987 when I first heard THAT VOICE on our kitchen radio 😍) Michael Jackson has been and is loved around the world😍

Thriller - 1983. It's still in the Billboard 200 Albums of all time.
You should definitely show him the Motown 25th Anniversary special because that was the first time the world saw the moonwalk.
Eddie Van Halen did the guitar solo for this, and also Bad by M.J.
Rizz stands for charisma!!
I didn't know krizz kaliko reacted on UA-cam love your music 🔥👌 and Michael Jackson of course 💥
Nice reaction. This song brings back memories 🙂 keep the classics coming ✌🏼

If I ain't mistaken MJ wore edges after his burn doing that Pepsi commercial if you recall
You guys are so funny And make listening learning remembering so pleasant words can say rubbish. I appreciate it thank you very much.
Handsome boy Krizz. Thank you for passing on the knowledge.🤘
Swag was the word my 30 yr old daughter told me what rizz meant when my 14 yr old granddaughter said it. Macking makes sense to me, too.😂
Great song by MJ, cool video, too.

MTV started when video killed the radio Star. Watch that video and you'll see the first one!😂
unlike so many people, I do not care one bit about who makes what and they always push in and look at that
Yall gotta do more MJ!
Michael stated in an interview that the song Billie Jean is about his brother Tito Jackson and a situation he had where a woman was claiming he was the father of her child when Tito has never met the woman ever in his life.
No he said it was inspired by his brothers cause there were a lot of Billie Jeans who claimed that one of his brothers were the father
I know that my mom bought me the first album and I think it was in the late 70s Michael Jackson knew his music I still love Sarah sorry
Thriller was his best selling album I believe!
It's the first black artist ever in mtv
Motown Moon walk!
I love Prince also
According to his biography MJ never met “Billy Jean” this woman claimed MJ was the father to one of her twins. Love me some MJ, but please check out Chris Cornell's cover of this song. It hits WAY different and is also great.
I’m 69 years old and I was raised in the 60s and 70s and I wonder if he even knows what a hippie is !😂
For an amazing experience, you two should sit down with Chris Cornell's cover of this.

I thought Riz was short for Charisma. But I'm too old to know any slang from after the 80s. 😂
Caterpillar eye brows 😂😂😂😂
You are thinking about Thriller
Ahm, you don't wanne be a riz king like MJ -.-
Okay I could be wrong but it looks like people are kind of hitting the point here and there but when MTV came out all they did was play music videos 24 hours a day 7 days a week and at first there wasn't that many videos in rotation but as it caught on obviously it became more obviously Michael Jackson was a big hit on MTV especially with his videos transforming the media along with some other bands like aha and a few others you know but yeah I would thriller and moonwalker which pretty much became short movies at one point in time a few others he's done and then there's his brothers he retained up with so on and so forth but yeah MTV started doing sections like yo MTV raps and headbangers ball and then they did the spring break thing for a while but as this was going on throughout the time period they started adding shows like Beavis and Butthead the young ones celebrity death match and I know there was a game show and I can't remember what its name was but I am absolutely positively sure if it went for MTV on the majority of groups that I listen to and that are so popular or were so popular might not even heard of most of them now back before MTV there were other shows that had videos before Nickelodeon really start branching out into kids stuff at night they would have videos of different groups similar damn TVs for Matt I think is like an hour or two and then there was night flight solid gold and I forget what else besides you know American bandstand and soul train we really got to think the pioneers of music and the bands of old otherwise I might not be watching you now and you might be doing something else maybe an architect or who knows

The kid that Michael was talking about actually exists his name is Brandon Howard or b Howard looks just like him but he’s not a Jackson
The kid is definitely not his son, but they sleep in the same bed anyway
The actually originally wouldn’t even play MJ. Because he was a Black Artist, they did while biting their tongues due to record company and viewer pressure..
MTV 1981
Thriller was a much better video to my way of thinking. The dancing was a lot better right?
"Rizz" came out because people couldn't spell "Charisma".
KRISS You Missed IT !😢😢 "BILLIE " Is female Spelling instead Of BILLY. And You also Mistook Word as SON. Its SUN. Song is Saying Girl IS NOT My SUN !!😂😂😂
