Canada: Trains through Black Canyon - British Columbia
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 кві 2017
- My last full day in Canada before heading back to Australia via the USA, I visited what happened to become my favorite railfan location in Canada. Black Canyon in British Columbia, just south of Ashcroft.
Standing on the cliff, you can see trains for a significant distance coming from Ashcroft.
From Australia too and managed to get to here also. Just magic. Doesn’t matter where you come from if you are into trains don’t miss this place!
Wow!!! I never saw anything like this! Longest trains ever❤️❤️❤️
Canada has some really long train for sure
This brings back great memories of working for CN as a signal maintainer and gang foreman. I walked every mile of that track and climbed every pole from Kamloops to Vancouver in the mid 80's. Black Canyon has to be one of the hottest places in Canada. We recorded temperatures over 45C beside the tracks on a July day.Beautiful country other than the extreme heat and the rattlesnakes (we were provided snake bite kits). Thank you for the video!
Thanks Phil. I could imagine especially the devastation in the region in 2021. I’m from Australia, even 45c challenges us down here!

¡Qué hermosura!
Brasil, Canadá y Estados Unidos...
Los trenes de carga más largos del mundo 🌎
Wow! It’s breathtaking view. These are the best and thrilling tracks that I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing this video
I'm absolutely amazing at how long some the trains in Canada are? Goodness 😅 I don't think I've ever seen trains this long in the US?
Absolutely Stunning place 😊❤ What a spectacular 😂 train spot! 😊
This is most spectacular train video and location I have ever seen. thank you so much for posting this for everyone to enjoy!
Thanks for the kind works. Hoping to revisit the area one day!
This video has it all - two busy main lines, steep cliffs, river, bridge, tunnels. What more is there! Thank you for sharing.
Giant Beyer-Garratt locomotives would just top it off.
This is the north end of the Fraser River - Thompson River Canyon system which cuts about 250 km / 150 miles through the east or dry side of the Coast Mountains on its way to the Pacific Ocean and the Port of Vancouver. There are many other videos on YT of this gorge, the Cisco Bridges are downstream.
It's beautiful, dangerous and of course longest train I have ever seen...thanks
Great capture of the moving trains at such a beautiful place such as the Black Canyon. Thank you for the great work!
Я восхищена ! На что способен человек? Спасибо авторам таких видео - монументальные кадры.
In 1980 when I was on training in Canada with CP Rail ,I passed in this area in freight train.Very beautiful sceneries with forest can be witnessed.
Must have been awesome !
Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
I live here and you did a spectacular job on this video.
I've been on a jet boat thru here as well.
Awesome!!
Thanks so much.
Wow, an incredible feat of engineering!
that is one of the coolest train sights I have ever seen the tunnels mountains lakes a super long train picture perfect !!
Same here! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph trains in all sorts of parts of the world. Black Canyon is one of my top 3 locations I’ve been to.
A very beautiful Video.
Impressive Landscape.
I have never seen a train with so many freight cars.
Impossible in my country :)
The rail traffic would collapse :))
I subscribed you.
Greetings from Switzerland.
Head over to Canada - they are all like this!
I was meant to be in Switzerland actually this month. Oh well, one day!
I was impressed by the magnificent scenery. I pay great respect to your efforts to reach the best shooting point.
It's no end and keep on coming!...Amazing!!. Thanx. for this clip.
I do believe this is the most beautiful RR scene I have ever witnessed.
Thank you for posting and sharing! Awesome!
Wow, yet another spot I've never ever seen in any American railroad magazine. Thanks, Ozzie mate!
The Thompson River Canyon pops up a few times in various magazines. I’ve got a ton of images here on my flickr account.
Wow! Stunning! Thanks for the great video. It is much better to see it from up there than sitting at the road crossing! In our area, I think they schedule the trains to be at the crossing when you are late for work. LOL.
What will always impress me is that each and every RR car must be strong enough to pull all that are behind! That is some technology, IMHO! Thanks for a great video!!!
Hans Quennet thanks! It’s certainly amazing technology
Hans Quennet i
Don't forget there are power units in the middle and at the rear pushing. And the knuckles do break occasionally
Muito bom apreciar essa linda paisagem, além da ferrovia que é uma obra fantástica da engenharia!
Super fantástico! Párese un sueño.felicidades a todas las personas que hicieron posible este documental
In 1979 I have travelled from Montreal to Revolstock on goods train. The train was about one and half kilometer long. Six powerful diesel engines were hauling the train. The train passed in beautiful hilly area. Though 39 years has passed but looks still remembering the journey. Engr Nabi Bakhsh Marwat Lahore Pakistan
This is my backyard. Beautiful country!
Also a beautiful video!!
Great, for the first time in my life I saw a long train
outstanding train video, long ones. countryside looks good too. Looks like two busy tracks. Thanks for an outstanding download. (Mississippi Gulf Coast USA).
Very fine model trains set, I especially like the realistic weathering on the cars.
They are real trains. Not models.
The scale of the landscape makes it look like a very well done model train layout. :)
Huu
Awesome video. Thank you for making and sharing. Certainly gives a whole other perspective to Canadian rail transport. I find myself wondering how long of a hike to reach your viewpoint!
Beautiful colorful train cars ‼️‼️. 👍👍. Beautiful scenery
Love it🥰💋👌🏼👌🏼

C'est très impressionnant ... quel train, quelles puissantes machines ... !!
I traveled from Nova Scotia to BC by train a couple of time long trip but great views you can't get by highway just couldn't get away from the window if you have the time and want a great experience give that a shot well worth it !!
Breathtaking
Tremendous video of our fantastic Fraser and Thompson canyons and our CP and CN railways in action. Just great stuff. In Canada we call them railways not railroads - it's a subtle distinction.
Black Canyon, never heard of it, but it is soooooo DARN BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Incredible train shots taken from in BC, very cool seeing the two mainlines across from each other, I liked the shot of the CN grain following the CP intermodal train. This location isn't to far from me and I'd like to make a visit down there sometime (looks like you need a number for permission on the land) to take some train videos. Thank you for uploading this! I am a new subscriber to your channel. Greetings from Canada!
Awesome just awesome
No words

That scenery looks really good !
Great rail therapy....Thanks for sharing👍👍👍
wow, amazing video. I love trains! Thanx for posting it
Awesome, amazing so lengthy freight trains. Excellent rail infrastructure of Canadian National.
BOTH Canadian Pacific and CN mainlines run along the Thompson River (as seen here) and the Fraser River. They are active competitors, each with excellent infrastructure.
Both CN & Canadian Pacific share each other’s tracks at this location all the way down to just outside Vancouver. Way cool.
Great video, looks like a big model train
Mother of all trains
It's beautiful! Congratulations! Amazing movie. Thank you! Best regards from Brazil!🇧🇷

Fantastic video, from a place not easy to access. I never got there.
Øystein Espelund thanks! It was quite a scary drive on the dirt road. No phone signal either. One of those moments where I thought "why am I doing this?!" It paid off though.
Excellent videos about trains around the world.

An awesome and beautiful location!
Brett Salyards thank you.
@@SantaFe5811 adoh?you??
that is a beautiful spot. I have been down the CN line many times testing track. Lots of eagles around there.
Frank Ashworth thanks Frank!! I really enjoyed watching the eagles dive for salmon. Pinpoint accuracy too!
if you look about an inch above the end of the CN trestle you can see a dark wooden structure which was part of the old line. I often see an eagle sitting on the timbers there. I have hundreds of eagle pictures from the Fraser river. Also mountain goats, the odd grizzly and if you are lucky, mountain lions too. Obviously my focus is a little too much on the wildlife. It's fun watching the eagles chase the Osprey after they have caught a salmon.
@@frankashworth4130 hy, how many cars have the longest trains?
I am speechless!!!
Amazing and wonderful
Allá en Canadá es innegable su enorme país lleno de enormes riquezas naturales que bello vídeo del tren que va por eso paisajes
