- RAILFANS! See aerial drone video of Tehachapi Loop train tracks in California. Trains are over a mile long! See the loop that keeps the railway incline at 2% grade so trains can easily climb the valley floor. Video is captured with a Phantom 4P drone. Song title: Never Coming Back, by William L Newman, Licensed from Audioblocks.com
The colors are so crisp and the perspective so unique, it took me a little bit to tell it was real railroad and not a model.

I came from Nova Scotia to visit Tehachapi Loop; 5800 km. I was watching these very trains live! So this video gets all the thumbs up.
iT IS SO GOOD LOOKS LIKE A SIMULATION with the beautiful definition in colours -
Thank you for bringing this to UA-cam for all to see
It is amazing
Awesome Music!👍🏻
This is dazzlingly cool. That drone's camera is so crisp and clear it literally looks like a model-train layout. Simply amazing!
Thank you very much! I get that comment a lot, people thinking it's computer generated because of it's clarity. I probably did too much color grading, adding too much contrast and saturation. It was captures with a Phantom 4 Pro, which has an amazing camera with a 1" sensor.
Thinking the exact same thing. Absolutely remarkable clarity.
Superb video and awesome trains ! 👍🏻
Nice. Love the refreshing perspective!
Great video, thank you for that!
One of the 7 Wonders of the Railroad Engineering World.
That is really very good film done - thank YOU very much !! Love it.
Great footage and music. Many thanks.
That was a great video! Thank you for making it and sharing.
Fantastic!! Best I've seen. By a comfortable margin.
Great video. I've always heard about the Loop and have never seen it. Thanks.
Thanks very much for sharing -- just made my first railfan trip to the loop in Feb. 2018. dealt with snow, clouds, etc. You captured this well.
April is the best month, green with no snow. I'll be there in a month for my annual flight of the loop.
At first I was like "what videogame is this, the graphics are amazing!" ...
01:40 reminded me of the classic arcade game called centipede
Same.
I wish Transport Fever had the same graphics...
I know. At first I was thinking, "Oh no, it's train simulator"
@@slammer3140: I had Centipede on a 1990s green screen cell phone. No text messaging or Internet.
I thought it was fake at first like a video game and I was like this sucks
Beautiful work. Outstanding incredible view most of us have wished to see for a long time. Well Done. Music and timing done perfectly. Thank you. 73 yr. old in Virginia, at the Beach.
Excellent video! Love how you covered so many area of the loop
Remember going to watch this event when I was just a kid! My Dad was so into Trains and it passed on to me!
Great video! I grew up in Tehachapi, but never saw the loop like this! Fantastic!🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Really great video, you know exactly how to capture everything at its best! Thanks for sharing this with us.
In Canada we have something similar to this called the Spiral tunnels. There are two of them almost back to back and both are inside a mountain! When the lead end emerges it crosses over the tail end. The vertical rise is approx 50 feet per tunnel.
Outstanding work. Fascinating throughout and in superb detail. Thanks for the share.
What a great video. Thank you for the camera work, especially zoomed out and fast forwarded for the loop motion. Watched this twice too!
Fantastic video and great music, I love watching it.
Slick production. Man it is beautiful there.
Jeff Jones, it's green like that for about a month in the spring. The rest of the year it's brown, so I time my trips there to fly the loop in April.
Who the hell is downvoting this video!!! This footage is SUPERB!!!! 💯
fantastic video 👀👍👏🙏, thanks for sharing.
The video was very sharp, clear, color was spot on; looked like you could walk into the screen and be there. looked beautiful on my widescreen. thanks for a very outstanding video. you had everything spot on.
Wow, it really pops in 4K! Thanks!
Wow, a great video with an impressive overview. There are no such long trains in Germany. Simply exciting. Well done.
Absolutely brilliant. Hands down one of if not the best video of the loop I have seen, and I have tried to watch every one I could find on UA-cam. Just beautifully done.
Thanks! This was about my 5th trip to the loop in 3yrs. I learn something new each time I visit.
a
Agreed. Marvelous shots.
HeartlandTuber try watching the Williams loop video, that’s absolutely as breathtaking as this one!

The land of four seasons at it's finest; thanks for sharing
Beautiful!!! T-Loop is beyond awesome.
When i use to long haul i always marveled over this going through this pass i always thought it was awesome.
Yep, it is awesome, every time I go. I happen to be going this weekend again, on my annual trip to the loop. I'm getting pumped just thinking about it.
Magnificent video'z, thnx a Million for sharing all these awesome video'z, truly they're amazing.
Simply superb! Great work.
Wow! So vibrant and clear! Well done!
Freaking Unbelievable Video. LOVED the Video and Music Choice. This video is a WINNER! Thanks for sharing it! WOW!
Thanks much. This is one of my favorites too. Tehachapi is an annual trip for me. I'm always looking for new ways to display the wonder of the loop.
Very nice! Great music too! Thanks for the great view! Cheers, Danny
Beautifully captured video. The views and colors are amazing. So clear and detailed. The trains looks really amazing. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
brilliant video thanks for posting
Thanks for sharing! Awesome video!
Foamers of the world UNITE! Thanks for this awesome video. Love it.
Great video! What brilliant trains!
Beautiful footage. Thanks!
In my opinion it should be considered as one of man's wonders of the world.
This really cool looking at the loop and surrounding areas from the air. Nice post.
Thanks Mark. I can see you're a rail fan like me. I enjoy visiting this engineering marvel annually, usually in April when it's green. It's a fun day.
I live three hours from there but don't get up to the loop too much anymore. I prefer to watch quality videos like yours in the comfort of my home. Thank you. Keep posting.
Really a great video! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing pictures thanks!!!
Really cool video. Never knew anything like this loop existed.
cool video! I get to drive past the loop every time I visit my hometown from Bakersfield. it's really cool to see it from the freeway but I'd love to get to ride through it on an actual train someday.
That was AWESOME. Beautiful work. Loved the technique combined with the music. Sensational presentation for everyone to see Tehachapi Loop ALL AT ONCE. Thank You.
Realy great location and top quality the sound and video
Thank you for the overhead view ("the big picture").
That has to be the best N gauge layout I've ever seen! Nice Vid, Thanks!
Amazing footage! I appreciate it!
Live here for 40 years. Everything is green because it's spring but summer time reveals more of dried up grass. Is a beautiful place the town recently had a Walmart built 2019 that should tell you a lot
Spectacular view.
Wow. Absolutely looks like a model railway set @2.47 😯
the best video I've seen of the Tehachapi Loop I think I've seen and usually the music is off-putting but in this case they went well together - a great video TS!
Do you know what band is playing the music?
Great video great soundtrack ...well done !
Just now stumbled on this video. Excellently done! A little surprised, though, that these were all BNSF trains - no UP. If only the video technology had existed in the past, imagine the visual feasts we could have when SP and ATSF did battle with the mountains!
Down to a fine art, passion and money..
Nice work and great choice of tuneage!
Even as someone who gets to see the loop everyday im still amazed
Wow, fantastic!
The timelapse portion is cool for sure.
c'est impressionnant !!!!
such a beautiful loop !!!
holy this is so amazing!
Awesome. Really gives a perspective of the whole loop. Excellent video. Been by there several times and always wanted to stop.
If you do stop by someday, look for the monument noting the National Historical Civil Engineering Landmark along the country road (Woodford-Tehachapi Rd) on the southeast side of the loop. From that monument, go East about 500' where you'll find a dirt road with a chain gate. You can part at that gate in the dirt. Walk north on that dirt road to get the best view of the trains. Go all the way to the end to the top of the hill (1/4mi hike) for an epic view of the tracks. From there you can see up and down the valley with about 5 miles of track visible. This is where I fly the drone from.
@@TomSpurlock Thanks,Tom
Outstanding , SUBSCRIBED !!
This is so cool Tom. Nice smooth flying the whole time too. That's not east to hold still that long man. LOL
So interesting, the first seen I think this the capture from Trainsim. Awesome 4k featuring.
Well, I'll be... The last time I looked, there was only one track going east out of the loop! The drone really gives a good perspective on the whole thing. How nice that you were able to catch 2 trains passing in opposite directions! Great timing!
Drove past this today! It’s just as cool in person
Amazing.... Super video. Tnx...
Great and incredible !
Very cool capture!
Nailed it! Great composition!
Great catch! We have similar terrains but our engineers have different plans. Now-a-days we don't see loops like this one. Thanks

it will be so cool for the driver to see the end of train moving in front of him
When the driver sees the end is not moving. Oh shit
Great video, there's one of CP Rails spiral tunnels in the Canadian Rocky Mountaind
Bravo, bravo, bravissimo🤩
very spectacular bv of the work done
Coolest train video ever!
Thank you for sharing
🥾🥾
Tom, this was well shot, great production, awesome location... You rock!!! Keep these coming!!!
Thanks Byron! This location is one of my favorites to visit annually in April, because it's green during that month. However it appears I won't make it this year, since we're all in seclusion. Bummer to miss a year at Tehachapi. It's about a 3hr trip for me from home in Orange County, but it makes for a good day trip. Planning the flights, the angles of the shots, and the editing goals is a year long process to get something different every year, even though it's the same place. That's another reason I visit just once a year. Maybe my next trip there will be in the winter and shoot the loop with snow all around. That would be different.
@@TomSpurlock you have a great eye for "railroad beauty"... Find others!!! However, your video production rocked!!!!!! I loved it!!!
Wow, Beautiful!
So awesome and great aerial footage! Looks like you had a blast editing too.
Yeah, I was so stoked with the video capture that I tried my best to do something different than my normal editing. Next month in April I'm going back again, during the GREEN grass month in the area. I'm already making plans for something new and different.
Cool soundtrack.. Very appropriate
That's some serious power and torque. Pretty cool that pull that much weight. Amazing
Just a tip. Silence is golden.
Far out !!! Thank you !!!
Outstanding drone work and video editing!
Never heard of a 4K drone. That’s awesome!
Nice work! fun to watch.
Incredible 👏👏
This was a BADASS video I love working for BNSF I'm very blessed
Amazing
