If you're looking to get into custom ROMs I highly recommend (ironically enough) the Google Pixel family. It allows you to relock your bootloader post installation re-establishing the necessary security protocols that are removed when you unlock.
I was initially going to flash a custom ROM on my phone, but most did not have SD card storage available, and the one that did had SElinux disabled which I wasn't comfortable with. I decided to flash the stock ROM deleted any Google apps and services like you mentioned and have closely monited the root permissions of apps. So far the phone runs OK with the exceptions of apps requiring google play services. I recently did the same process on tablet where there is no custom ROM available and haven't had any issues also. Deleting the wrong apps or system apps can cause bootlooping and bricking, I'll just have to buy a phone with more ROM options and look for better ROMs for the phone I currently have in the mean time
@@Techie-ks9nh huh, I'll need to try again to install a custom ROM on my Moto G6 normie crutch. There are no complaints on the CrDroid and ColtOS threads in XDA forums No promises, the OEM unlock option is available but my last attempt said, "your phone is not eligible"
This video was needed. Too many are compromising security for the sake of de-googling their phones these days.

What phone do you have? Curious about the SD card / chipset support because SD works fine on my Moto G8 Power. Motorola and OnePlus use Qualcomm
@@NicholasHenkey A moto G6 with a green Samsung SD card my, moto E4 with lineage OS has the SD card storage option available

This channel is luke smith esque.
You mean I shouldn't just run every .exe as administrator? I need to rethink a lot of my habits...
Only if it's labeled "hottie.jpeg.exe"
