@@NicholasHenkey yeah, it's pretty new. Hoping they continue to build it out. Another I was looking at is sygic. Looks pretty nice. But also closed source and does have some trackers built into the app. I agree magic earth is probably the best balance between privacy and functionality we have right now. One thing I don't care for however is the lack of contrast between the road colour and the traffic data. I wish they'd make it more visible.
After having read their privacy policy they're no different than any Garmen GPS systems. Meaning if you happen to be useing gps when a crime is committed your data will be collected on a geofense warrent and submitted to law inforcement as a possible suspect.
Sadly, there's not much we can do about that. Our cell providers will do the same On the plus side, within deGoogled Android, this app is terrible at identifying your location until you start it
This app was recommended to me by Ambro. Thanks for the tip, man ua-cam.com/channels/Wm2Zy4ujLaN3Hj_IEVrCiw.html
I'm glad you dig it! It's a bummer it's not FOSS, but its UX makes it a decent compromise.
Nice job, thanks.
Have you looked at organic maps? It's relatively new.
Not yet, thanks for the tip
Edit: looks like it's mostly for hiking and biking which is pretty useful for me. Thanks again!

@@NicholasHenkey One thing to note about Organic Maps is that it relies entirely on OpenStreetMap data for its maps.
