I hope so Iain. The gasoline prices here are getting insane ( I know I am looking for sympathy in the wrong place here) I would love to replace it with another hybrid or even full EV…Not in the cards anytime soon…Not destitute but not far off paying for my two youngsters education 🤑 🤣Cheers Mate 🍻
Awesome video! My sx4 has been getting fogged up windshield all the time even on a hot day and I'm wondering if it's a leaking heater core or a bad evaporator... Would you suggest replacing both? Thanks
Consider the possibility the recirculation/fresh air valve may be “stuck” in the recirc mode. Raising cabin air relative humidity to problematic levels. Is the A/C is operational? Heater core problems are usually accompanied with a distinct odour of engine coolant in the cabin. There are multiple videos on the channel dealing with A/C and cooling component testing, if your interested. Replacement of these in dash components is not difficult but somewhat involved, be sure your on the right course of action. Good luck 🍀
@@TheGibby3340 thanks for the info, my A/C is operational but I don't smell coolant in the cabin. Is there a more specific name for this fresh air valve? "purge valve?" "expansion valve?" Thanks
The fresh/recirc valve is part of the ventilation plenum not the A/C system proper. If your car is L/H drive, the valve flapper is underdash R/H footwell area just above the blower and cabin air filter (if installed). Forward of your glove box. Valve is positioned via electric actuator. The valve recirculates cabin air drawn near the passenger footwell area or outside air from the cowl area (near passenger side windscreen wiper drive). Toggle between fresh & recirculation modes at your panel to ensure the valve is operational. Be aware...climate control (automatic A/C) cars will (should) automatically toggle the recirc mode to fresh anytime demist is selected. Manual A/C cars will not and require the driver to manually select fresh (if I recall). Operating in windshield demist while still in recirc mode can and will fog the windows, heavily under high humidity conditions.
Hi. Big thanks for sharing these videos. I had the same problem, after installing the new evaporator the AC system does not turn off, so it keeps working til getting cold. What can i do?
Depending on your model, A/C can automatically engage in de-mist/defrost or auto mode depending on cabin temperature and selected temperature. If this is not the case, your clutch on the compressor must be engaged when it shouldn’t be. Check the relay and clutch operation itself. The temperature blend door in the plenum may also be an issue, leaving you the impression the A/C is operating. Thx for watching 👍🍻🍀
Thx Denis. If I have learned nothing in the last couple of years about AC…it’s all about the leak detection. Static systems at ambient temperatures may present as tight. Thermally stressed, big time different story. 🍻

E.T. Tech 1 second ago thanks for all of the SX4 A/C Videos!! I have one of this cars and the A/C is not working... I have change all of the parts and it continue not working... is continue burning fuse for ac fan I down know why...
Check the condenser fan is free to rotate. If it is binding (the bearing is worn/shroud damaged) it will draw excessive current & blow the fuse. Also check the correct amperage rated fuse is installed. A wiring issue is also possible.
@@TheGibby3340 I check and the fan is rotating normally and the fuse and relay are good. I have to check the voltage to see if there are normal. But air continue not cooling.
@@100x35.Design One step at a time. Clearly there is an issue if the fuse keeps blowing. You checked the fan. If your model is the same configuration as my two SX4’s there as 2 fans. One engine cooling, one AC condenser fan. Are they both functional? Did you physically check them both for freedom of rotation? Or did you just see them spinning? Check with ignition off. Finger hazard.
This series is the very definition of the word methodical.
That task was a bit challenging at times. Thx for checking it out. 👍🍻
Got the scratches on your hands to show for your efforts. Well done. Hope this lasts the rest of the cars life. 😁👍

Went to war and got the scars to prove it my friend not easy task there , deserved cold beer ahead and I hope the A/C battle is won 👍🍻
Time will tell as it always does. Cheers Igor 👍
Excelente!

@TheGibby3340 I replaced the evaporator sensor, but I still have the same issue. The compressor does not stop by itself and the A/C tube gets freeze.
