Brilliant work Ian , avoiding the 6 Ps approach, taking your time and staying calm , taking it step by step , I know if that had have been me , I would be dripping with sweat, and raging with frustration doing a job like that , …..superb 👍🍺
Cheers Ian…I certainly have been guilty of the same. And still am on occasion. I must be getting old, if frustration starts to set in it’s coffee time. I also give myself plenty of time…No unreasonable expectations. As I said, I must be getting old 🤣 PS: Enjoying yer N.I series 🍻
It is, but i'm doing something similar on the same car , and there are definitely some moments where i wish he was talking about what the heck he was doing lol
that SX4 drew blood from you....literally 😉 Kudos to you for tackling such a repair, thanks for posting. I must say it is a bit different not hearing your voice! 🙂....probably cause all of the cursing bleeped out!! 😂
Oh man, you went all out to get that thing out. And no narration so we don’t hear all the cursing. Getting to the bolts under the passenger airbag to remove it was very difficult for me. I removed the dash shell, and left the steering column and the metal dash frame in the car. After loosening the side long bolts I was able to just lean that part forward, but there was enough space to get the air box our. But your way has a lot less disassembly, so it should go back together faster. And that improv tool for gripping the rubber radiator hoses, I’ll have to remember that.
I’m just following the manual. Not quite every step but close….Lots of different approaches. The nut on the stud behind the ABS module was corroded into oblivion. That was frustrating. There is a small module forward of the HVAC assembly, I believe it is in the security system. They have intentionally made it very difficult to access even the lock tab on the connector faces inward making it super challenging to remove. Anyway so far so good. Thx for watching. Cheers 👍
@@earlscheib7754 As I mentioned in the Vid…figured it was security (locks/ignition interlock) related. Or maybe I didn’t mention it…🧐 Either way Thx for watching 🍻
To change the evaporator you don't have to remove the board. I change them and never remove the board and it doesn't take me more than 2 hours to change the evaporator. Just remove the console from the center

@@TheGibby3340 cheers Ian, away to Falkirk this weekend, and just getting ready to view part 2 of this series 👍🍺🏴
Exact video I needed. Although I didn’t need it for my evaporator, was extremely helpful to watch this to replace a heater core. Thanks a bunch 🤘🤘
Thx for watching. 🍻

Fit for global consumption Denis. 😂 Cheers Pal 👍

🤣 Maybe a little…Giving people a break from my ramblings 🤣 Cheers 👍
What is the reasoning for keeping the airbags up?
Inadvertent deployment doesn’t send them flying 🚀
@@TheGibby3340 and what would make them deploy off the car?
@@davesterl Static discharge. Unlikely, just following the manual recommendations.
@@TheGibby3340 aye, no bother. I see others doing that too. Just super safety i guess
@@davesterl Don’t want any ambulance chasing lawyers after me 🤣
Do I need to disconnect the battery before messing with this?

@@TheGibby3340 the one with the yellow connector is airbag/ srs, the black box is keyless (rke) if equipped.
