You could use the xy pad with pitch filter effect, or by hand in the piano edit with q links

I wish I could use the step sequencer in the way you just did but with CV, but you can't it seems. :(
There’s always multiple ways with akai, try doing with notes on a sample then copy track to cv or copy from track mode. Try here MPC Live II | Step Seq + CV Gate

Thanks! seems like this only will work when in drum program mode. not in plugin or midi mode?
There is a different note arp for those modes.....hold note repeat or double tap arp far right to goto to sub menu arp controls see video AKAI MPC ONE - #150 Close up : note Arp melodies presets, MPC 2.8
When you are in Plugin Mode, double tap on "Parameter Velocity". Than tab "add New" followed by "Program: Plugin Nr.". There you can tab your Synth. It opens a List with many Parameters. Select "Transpose" and you can then change the Tone in the Sequencer. I have Version 2.10
