Warframe is probably the only free to play game that lets you buy hundreds of real world dollars worth of in-game cosmetics for completely free because you spent an evening cracking open relics you don't even remember getting.
The only thing that doesn't feel free to play is the weapon and Warframe slots, you get like, two weapon and one Warframe slots from Nora and then you have to wait months until her next lineup gives you more so you have to buy Platinum or learn how to trade, and even then a beginner would only have 3 trades minimum per day. At least there's no longer paid daily REVIVES for if you die too much in a day. That was dogshit.

I've played warframe since closed beta and never ever i saw a game with so much free content, with honest F2P system, with free DLC-sized updates, with tons of ways to modify gameplay to match your own vision of how it must be played. Warframe is truly a beauty of gaming, and time-consuming gameplay is not even a problem, honestly, because of how you can compensate your lack of progress in one system by a progress in another system (like focus eidolons -> zariman angel, focus lenses).

Getting all frames, all weapons, with a faire amount of maxed build is relatively optional, and in this regard you can most of the time farm specifically for what you want ^^

I can confirm that this is indeed Warframe, you even captured that feeling I'm pretty sure we all have where we hate how obviously tediously grindy this game is at every single fucking level, absolutely eroding at your patience and time at every opportunity just to try to nudge you into spending some money - and yet I can't fucking stop playing, even after taking breaks I can't stop relapsing right back into it again. For me its the general gameplay flow, the combat, the movement, ect as well as making progress with builds. Getting more and more devastatingly powerful, making missions that used to absolutely wreck you into complete cakewalks only to hit the next difficulty wall and have to keep grinding to overcome it, its like fucking crack dude. Oh, I also really like the lore and story despite having had to do literal research in order to understand it. I have yet to spend a single cent on this game because I have no life and no money.

Ive been playing this game for 10 years, its a blast! One thing I recommend for new players: get a veteran buddy and force him to unequip his powerful shit and then stay in friends only mode so you dont get all your fun and kilsl stolen by randoms who after a month of play have shit that is infinitely more powerful than the beginner stuff
that is probably a great idea, but the veteran would have to spend so much time doing shit that is worthless to him that probably nobody would ever do it, assuming the veteran helps the newbie through a big portion of the early game
I love how he tried to include everything and left out railjack Even tho it was one of the things players looked forward to for like 4 yrs and when it got release everyone built a ship for a week and never touched the outer space again
bro relic farming destroyed any chance of me coming back to warframe ever again. every time people say i need to trade plat instead of playing the game also made me shocked that the system worked like that. Cool that there's a whole market about trading with other players to keep it thriving but I just felt super demoralized when i wasn't allowed to use the weapons i wanted to use for most of it to raise my mastery. I'm sure the game has changed a lot since i started playing but I'm already on another live service grind that fills the deckbuild brain
There are quite a handful of flaws in the game, but some of them seem alright and easy to brush off since while having a specific goal to get something, you get other useful things along the way

god when i got into the trading system more often, selling many items for platinum, i start to figure out how much pain it saves me from having to grind out these primed items

Buy affinity booster go on defend or survival mission (preferred location sedna) and nuke everything with zaw. Rinse and repeat until you feel like puking and you will reach MR24 in 1 or 2 months.
i've been playing warframe for almost 8y and this video is a mess... JUST LIKE FREAKING WARFRAME LMAO this video really does represent my whole experience with the game to this days, where i kinda know what i am doing or what i need to do, but still effing lost in the game like "what the F do i need to do again?!!" and the information overload in this video also pass the same feeling of information overload for new players. really good job!
I love warframe because it is fully free and there is no FOMO. The crafting taking 1-3 days does suck, but it gives you time to play other games between builds and not burn yourself out on playing just 1 game for months at a time. Its nice if your group plays a bunch of games on and off!

If i had know, how hard and complicated it was going to be, i would never have started playing. But now i'm here 250 sign-in's later, still loving it, still trying to workout what the f am i doing. There have been sulks, tears and tantrums involved, even the threat of a sledgehammer. Still so much to learn.
i love the grind. like for real. on my way to breaking 4000 hours and still not done. so yea everyone saying no content clearly are idealess on how to fill your time. for example it took me 2 weeks just to capture every wildlife animal in the game

the cool thing about Warframe's F2P is that its the only one that made me gladly WANT to spend money to support the devs back when I was playing, other games try to force you to spend by using various scummy practices while Warframe can be played without actually needing to spend a single dime. Even if you need something using Platinum you can simply TRADE with other players or sell stuff you farmed for the premium currency as you want, and if you know what you're doing you can get rich fast by buying and selling high demand stuff. ..... Yeah there's a lot of grind, thanks for reminding me.
Warframe is like going on a cruise ship, except that you spent all the time trying to figure out and arguing with the retailer as to what class and room you're going to. Then after you go through that you spend the time packing all the stuff you need to bring with you on top of the stuff the kids wanted to bring and you having to listen to their tantrums after telling them that they couldn't bring the dog. Then you have to sort out all the stuff that might get in the way of the vacation, which includes rushing and crunching through things with a specific deadline. After all of that you finally get to see the cruise ship, and then they tell you that the cruise ship trip got cancelled because the captain's cat got stuck on the engine, also they don't offer refunds either; and now you spent your entire vacation doing extra work and putting up with stupid BS, and now realize you could have instead had a much better time at home cracking a cold one on the patio instead...

For any newbies wondering how the fudge i farmed so much, this was when eris - akkad was popular for MR farming, long before sanctuary onslaught became a thing.
I have been playing Warframe since it was released on PS4. Sometimes i will take a 1 or 2 week break, come back and be absolutely lost on what I was grinding for. Every update my wife will ask "What game is this" and I will tell her Warframe and she will ask why I am skateboarding, playing hand ball, flying a space ship, riding a horse, fishing, playing as a fish, playing a 2 D fighting game, jumping over pillars as a bird, playing guitar hero, or gazing at that robot ghost's ass. I can explain most of that. I can't my attraction to Wisp. There is just something abouy her abilities that gets my blood flowing. Hyped for her to be the next Prime!
Long story short: feature creep, resource creep, faction creep, creep creep etc. Literally every little detail in the game is so vast you need a 30 min video just to scratch the surface.

I started playing in 2016 and stopped in 2019 because it was just too much grind.
When I reached my first 1000 hours I was so burned out, I just gave up.
logged on again the other day and was like yeah no, I'm done.

the cool thing about Warframe's F2P is that its the only one that made me gladly WANT to spend money to support the devs back when I was playing, other games try to force you to spend by using various scummy practices while Warframe can be played without actually needing to spend a single dime.
Even if you need something using Platinum you can simply TRADE with other players or sell stuff you farmed for the premium currency as you want, and if you know what you're doing you can get rich fast by buying and selling high demand stuff.

Warframe is like going on a cruise ship, except that you spent all the time trying to figure out and arguing with the retailer as to what class and room you're going to. Then after you go through that you spend the time packing all the stuff you need to bring with you on top of the stuff the kids wanted to bring and you having to listen to their tantrums after telling them that they couldn't bring the dog. Then you have to sort out all the stuff that might get in the way of the vacation, which includes rushing and crunching through things with a specific deadline. After all of that you finally get to see the cruise ship, and then they tell you that the cruise ship trip got cancelled because the captain's cat got stuck on the engine, also they don't offer refunds either; and now you spent your entire vacation doing extra work and putting up with stupid BS, and now realize you could have instead had a much better time at home cracking a cold one on the patio instead...

Ngl even with all the stuff you say warframe has, im running out of stuff to do now (other than MR farming) since i already maxed out all of the factions and syndicates and im swimming in resources, back in the day i spent waaaay too much time doing endless survival/mobile defense missions and im now sitting on so much that i dont know what to do with it (except for mutagen samples... i'll never get that damn hema 😮💨) and so many unranked weapons and warframes just because ive been too lazy to level them.
People say i should throw my 50,000,000+ nanospores into helminth but i feel like keeping it just for nostalgia's sake lol. For any newbies wondering how the fudge i farmed so much, this was when eris - akkad was popular for MR farming, long before sanctuary onslaught became a thing.

I have been playing Warframe since it was released on PS4. Sometimes i will take a 1 or 2 week break, come back and be absolutely lost on what I was grinding for. Every update my wife will ask "What game is this" and I will tell her Warframe and she will ask why I am skateboarding, playing hand ball, flying a space ship, riding a horse, fishing, playing as a fish, playing a 2 D fighting game, jumping over pillars as a bird, playing guitar hero, or gazing at that robot ghost's ass. I can explain most of that. I can't my attraction to Wisp. There is just something abouy her abilities that gets my blood flowing. Hyped for her to be the next Prime!
