The reason why the valve tails are tight is that would of been made in with hemp & boss white . If you heat the bottom corner of the rad or on the tail itself it will come out easy. Swinging on a pair of cobras you will struggle to undo the tails . If you approach it the right way it shouldn't be too much of a struggle to get those tails out. Having dome this for nearly 50 years when I was fitting thise original tails which you were removing. You were lucky in so far as they were ½ ends as opposed to ¾ union type tails . Bracing with a pair of 10" stillsons against the way you're undoing the valve will stop pressure being put on the vertical flow or returns. Excess ptfe tends to spread over the bore of the valve whilst you're tightening them in & in some cases can split the rad. I understand everyone has a preference I prefer loctite 55 over ptfe all day long as with it you can back the fitting off unlike with ptfe tape you can't. On the system of the size you were changing those valves would of been a good idea to put some cleaner in as I bet you, especially that huge single panel rad is sludged up & very restrictive to flow issues based on age. Even though it looks like they had the boiler upgraded at some point but not the rads!! They look like the old skyline rads I used to fit in the 70's 🙈 pretty much everyone was tbf.
I think you me open vented , not gravity fed. Gravity fed means pumped central heating and gravity primaries to the cylinder. You cant have a Worcester on a gravity primary system. Good video though. I like your style.
Thanks for watching 👍 yer the wording is a bit off there as im just trying to convey that the filling of the system is reliant on gravity rather than a filling loop

How come you had to replace the whole lot? Service type approach or all of the valves seized/jammed scuzzed up?
@@barryckemp907 its a big house with multiple bedrooms being heated for no reason so the trv allows them to turn them on and off 👍
