I see a lot of comment on these pumps that it doesn't make the expected flow rate improvement as per the manufacturers graph. For example 2LPM will be increased to 7LPM (350% increase). In the case of a low pressure gravity fed system that has a mixer tap restricting flow rate (typical scenario), you can't measure the output flow rate of the tap as your point of reference for improvement. That is the restricted flow rate, the flow rate entering the tap will be higher prior to the tap restricting it. That higher flow rate is what the incoming flow rate the pump will be connected to. The higher the flow rate the less it will increase it e.g. 8LPM to 10LPM (25% increase). This video is a good example of that type of scenario where the improvement is quite disappointing. Whilst flow rate out of the tap might be in the region of a paltry 2LPM prior to the pump being fitted it would be incorrect to expect it to increase to 7LPM as per manufacturers graph. The flow rate to the tap could be 7LPM but is restricted down by the tap to 2LPM. Therefore the pump will see an input flow of 7LPM and only increase to 9.5LPM (35% increase), then the tap will restrict this back down 2.5-3LPM resulting in the quite pathetic increase seen in the video.

It maybe outside of spec' but I'm using a home boost to pump a fortic tank output. Fortic tank is in the loft, and homeboost under the bath to supply a bath mixer. Bathroom has cold main feeds so normally severely imbalanced supplies. Works ok even for a shower. Looking at the manual suggests can feed an outside tap so I may have a go seeing if I can get this running off a 12v solar panel / battery setup. These pumps are bit pricey now though.

Hi there,I would need your advice,I've just installed the pump in your video after your recommendation which is replacing a salamander ct 50. From the moment of plugging it in ,the pump won't shut off(I have primed it for a few minutes prior to switching it on).Must mention that the pump is working the bath taps and that's where it is located right under the bath taps -3"of outlet pipe after its flexi hoses.Did this ever happened to you before - not shutting down? Thanks in advance

My plumber has suggested this as an alternative to the expensive 2 bar pump fitted at the tank end. So I was keen to see how this improved the flow. Unfortunately your video somewhat skipped over the important part. I think you should have dwelled on the improvement - or lack of - and it would have been good to get the customer to give his impression. Also timings would have been VERY useful. Ie. It takes 45 seconds from the tap being turned on to getting hot water out of it WITHOUT the pump and WITH the pump it was only 20 seconds. That sort of thing.
