She was such a lonely soul. She got bullied in school. When she left Texas she blew up she was Bi-& to me I gave her big respect for letting the world know ❤wt bk to her high school reunion & left. I believe they were all jealous of her, but a big shout out for her leaving early as everyone says they will never be another Janis ever. ❤❤❤
That is her greatest live performance, arguably. Her other 'great' performances are at the Monterey Pop Festival (Ball et Chain) et live in Germany (Maybe). The rest are just stupendous. Except at Woodstock. She was so high et drunk she couldn't sing. She didn't even want it shown.

I don't know if people today know what a huge star she was back then. Jimi Hendrix, who I also was crazy over, died just a month before. I don't know if you've checked it out yet and I'm sure people recommended it, but I would check out her singing "Ball and Chain live at Monterey." You have to make sure it's that version. If you like Janis a lot, which you seem to do, you will also probably love Beth Hart. She is quite amazing. If you haven't heard her yet, I would suggest Beth Hart singing "Am I the One - Live at Paradiso." Again, you have to make sure it's that version. Also her singing "Caught Out in the Rain - Live at Albert Hall." She will blow your socks and everything else off LOL. Two amazing strong women performers.
Watching Janis live like this makes me hate modern pop even more than I already did. I bet her performances took a lot out of her, definitely exhausted and maybe coughing up blood. And today, singers just get on stage and move their mouths to pre-recorded tapes. smh
Janis had an amazing voice. I personally am not real fond of excessive screaming. Obviously some passion and grit relays her emotions but I feel the excessiveness detracts from the beauty of her voice.🤷🏻♀️🥴💐✨💫
