Still one of my favourite drummers on UA-cam..your passion and enthusiasm you bring to your performances and the detail you put into the deliverance of the audio and how it is recorded is top tier. Cheers from canuckville Colm.
I have been binging your videos for an hour and I keep going back in time to see how it would've been live and you fucking slay. I'm glad someone else appreciates the older fucking jams and you have obviously mastered them-- good on you, bro, keep up some of the best drumming I've seen in the past decade.
Yes dude! Fun Machine Took A Shit is amazing! QOTSA are royalty, so pumped that people love to jam to them (and the self titled album like this one). Long live Queens of the Stone Age
Hey Colm, I had to comment on this video because it's for me the best song that you play. I wish to thank you for your videos, they helped and inspired me start learn drum. I'm actually practicing drum and I wish to build a UA-cam channel in 2018. You can have sure that I will thank you on my videos for be inspiring for me. Congratulations and keep on with your videos. I'm your fan!
Unpopular opinion these days but the first album is my equal favourite with Rated R. The rest are good but don’t reach the levels of awesome their first two albums do. Their more recent work has occasional highlights but just are not as hungry, fun and weird as their sound at the beginning. I also played the shit out of thing song when I was a teenager teaching myself the drums in the early 2000s. I really dug the open hi-hat notes in the intro with the floor toms for some reason. Regular John and How to Handle a Rope are also easy and fun to play. Ugh what a great album, every damn track is killer.
Hi man! Nice work! Do you have this video with drums only? I would like to do the rest of the instruments with your base drums. Sorry about my english. Greetings from Argentina!
I wish I had a drum set. Waiting until I'm able to get a job to buy one. In Canada minimum wage is high so I guess it won't take more than 3 paychecks but I can't wait.
Hey Colm, I was just wondering if you'll be doing a cover for Muse's new single - Psycho. I'd love to see what you'd make of it! Also, would you or anyone in the comments mind letting me know which mics you use for your kit? Thanks a lot :)
I went to 3 QOTSA concerts hoping they would play this song but they never did and I don't understand why because it's so fucking good!!! I don't know why people rather hear Burn the witch over this..
Yeah man, I'm a huge fan of QotSA and quite like '...like clockwork' too but it isn't really about drums on that album. Shame though, cause excellent lyrics, ideas, riffs on it.
My favorite Queens song. You play the shit out of it.
One of my favorite QOTSA tunes!!
Colm Dowling - Best drum covers of YT!

You'll get there ;)
Fantastic sound! What kind of resonant drum heads do you use for tom and floor tom, in this video?
Spot fucking on my dude.
Hey Colm! Great covers man, keep them coming! Can you please tell me how you get drumless songs? Thanks! :)
***** Hi david , I don't use drumless tracks , I use the original track and reduce its volume when mixing the audio afterwards
Oh, ok! Good job :) Thank you!
fucking awesome
Awesome. Such a great tune. What headphones do you use when you're playing btw?
I use shure se 215's , thanks man.
What did ye do with the snare? Sounds like a tom pal.
What drumsticks do you use

Janakoi Hi , UA-cam still have a copyright block on Psycho but when they release it I'll do a cover.. Check out the video description for the Mics
What are the eaplugs your using?
Are you doing any processing on the drum tracks? Compression or reverb or anything?
+TheRavensTooth yeah a small bit of both man and some eq

Another note for note cover by CD. Weird.
Do you have any neighbours. Was just playing along on guitar and realised you must have really tolerant neighbours or not have them at all.
That shirt
Jehova's witness
Jaja, I was thinking the same...
Wow, this is amazing!
