Abuja is one of the most beautiful cities in the world IMO. And it was built after independence, proving what Africans can do for themselves. The whole country could be that beautiful & green if there is enough can-do will.
When Nigeria opened its border after some months of closure following the covid pandemic, I was surprised that a significant number of people who arrived Nigeria were foreigners. Nigeria is a hidden gem, only a few people know about it. Many of the citizens kinda too mouthy about its challenges. Im coming back despite the negativities to tap into this hidden treasure.

Yes, pls check your local DISCO, some are currently distributing free meters in preparation for first phase which will go live before year end. That's if you don't have prepaid already.
No nation has ever been great without food security (basic necessities of life) rule of law (enforcement and eradication of institutionalize corruption and mismanagement of resources), power/energy/electricity generation and distribution. With visionary and benevolent leadership, slow and steady, we shall get there.
Can you show another video where actual construction or rehab of distribution station is being done by siemens. This venture might work because of absence of middle men. Thanks. I am cautiously optimistic given our govt antecedents. Bless ya.
We can't go and video because we are too busy. Work is currently going on: Alaoji-Owerri-Onitsha transmission line which can only handle 400MVA is being trippled to 1200MVA capacity. Benin-Delta same as above, Lagos-Ogun many substations, 30Mva transformers are being replaced with 60 or 100. Things will change very soon. If you're not convinced, you can visit some of these places to see for yourself. Thanks.
It’s 2 years later now … where are these megawatts? 11 000 mw (If delivered one day) will not make much of a difference. South Africa, with a quarter of the Nigerian population cannot run on 60 000mw. To bring Nigeria into the modern age, it needs to produce well in excess of 100 000mw or like India, well over 400 000

Make Africa proud Naija, get this done. Privatising key sectors is never a good idea- primarily benefits foreign MNCs & banks (which is why the western based IMF demands it), not local developing populations. Dont allow Siemens to overcharge you.
Privatization of the power company didn't add value to the economy, mostly because the people that bought the companies don't have the expertise. If they were sold to competent companies, it would have been a different story.
@@NedMedia Thx for replying. Ideally competent local companies can be developed by training more in the STEM fields. If privatisation continues, it should never be to foreign multinationals. Key sectors must remain protected & sovereign.
You're welcome, you're right about the training. It should have been done before the privatization, otherwise we wouldn't add any value to the economy. Better off getting a foreign company that will add value. Thanks for your insights 😊
