But it’s also coping with crushing levels of poverty.

I'm a Nigerian, lived here all my life and I can tell you what we go through everyday. It's a lawless country with rulers who care for themselves alone and not the masses😔
With masses who are extremely stupid.. you forgot to add that part.
@@emmanuelukaegbu121 And what's wrong with what he said. Pathetic fool. It is fools like you that encourage them to keep stealing because you feel it should not said.
Well, now we know. In fact, we've always known... What have we done about it? Absolutely nothing.
You say our leaders but do you even agree that you and I are corrupt. If you don't agree, that means there is no moving forward for us.
@@matthewayotunde I don’t think there’s anything you can do about it as an individual.
The only country that experience “oil scarcity” even though they produce the oil.
There 3 three countries in the whole world, that sometimes experience oil scarcity and do not have oil.
Play Dog do those countries produce oil as well?
@@oghensatumah7867 no, can't you read?
Play Dog I can read all right man.... you obviously didn’t read my comment. Read it again. I said that nigeria is the only country “that produces oil” and still experience oil scarcity. Imagine making things you send to a foreign country but your people don’t have access to it. That’s what I’m talking about here.
@@oghensatumah7867 I was supporting you with my first comment, to show how stupid Nigeria is. Read it carefully again.
As a Nigerian, born and bred, I can say that this documentary is totally accurate..God punish our evil leaders and their generations

@@jyde50 tell us what is missing! If the documentary is not accurate!
Am Kenyan and I really sympathize with the situation of my Naija brodas! It's such a pity😢😢😢...Nigeria should be a leading light in Africa! They have been producing oil for almost 50 years yet 48%(and to bring things into perspective that 48% of close to 200 million people!) of the population lives in extreme poverty! This is really sad indeed.
The west will make you guys poor. They are the people who teach you corruption and how to steal.
A sad scenario 👻
So u don’t sympathise with Nigerian women?
Should be in the same league with gulf countries instead they keep churning poor pple who all want to leave the country by all means even drowning in oceans trying to get to europe
They should somehow develop refining and storage capabilities and get rid of shell and other petroleum companies.
I'm Ghanaian but this really hurts me😢
Absolutely brother
You can say that again bro . That's why we want to go. We are Biafrans, at the end the world must hail Biafra.
same here
Why? Ghana don’t have their own problems for you to cry about?
@@thetruthsayer8347 love your neighbour as yourself .If Nigeria is going through bad days as a Ghanaian and an African I must equally be concerned because victory for nigeria is victory for the entire Africa and same applies to all African countries. When nigerians were being killed in South Africa the whole continent came together to speak against xenophobia and we must do same to internal corruption and mismanagement of resources. Who is waching in Nigeria and feel they are right?
The last time money went missing was before 2015 during the Goodluck Jonathan Era. Present Government came in 2015 and are curbing corruption. Kenya and Ethiopia battling poverty better than Nigeria, who would've thought?
@Neon Dawn They do, numbers don't lie! Whatever strategy Kenya and Ethiopia used to fight poverty, it has brought some very encouraging results. This is about the rate of extreme poverty, not GDP per capita. I don't think you understood what the lady was saying.
@Neon Dawn If you gonna argue in favor of Nigeria then you gonna need to bring more compelling ideas. Kibera is a slum in a country of 50 million people, we're talking about data that describe entire countries, not just a slum; a city; a county or even a region. I can mention victoria island in terms of wealth, does that mean all of Nigeria is as rich as Victoria Island? Of course no! But that's the same kind of analogy you making regarding Kibera. That analogy holds no weight. By the way, I wouldn't say she's clueless because the numbers she brought up are provided by reputable institutions such as African development bank; IMF; UNFPA...
Neon Dawn lol over 76m Nigerians live in extreme poverty what's the population of Kenya again?
@Neon Dawn
@Johnny Ola that has nothing to do with current battles against poverty but go off
Nigerians were living the dream until oil was discovered.

There busy being pastors
😂 😂 😂 😂 That's true
@whodunit yenyenyenyenyen
@whodunit 😂🤣😂 with that funny wear/attire they keep rearranging every 5 seconds 🤣
These comments are VERY inappropriate because the Nigerian pastors to my understanding are neither lawmakers nor involved in the day to day running of the nation and in the massive looting of public treasuries. I have read the list of the biggest public looters including those involved in so called ‘missing’ billions and I never saw the name of a pastor. If we digress from the point at stake here, congresses of various nations in the world like USA that are already discussing the case of Nigeria will become distracted and miss the real message which is that the world needs to stand with the masses in Nigeria as they stage PEACEFUL protests which may drag on enough to oust the corrupt regimes and bring public officials to accountability.
@@nikenneji1167 What happened to the last person that called for a peaceful protest? How many people turned out? Nigerians are in a state of apathy. The middle class that's supposed to lead the charge are complacent. When it all blows up, the downtrodden will come for the middle class. The real culprits will still escape. The situation is very depressing at best.
I really love your videos, these are always very informative, thank you

Oil is the single most curse to my country,Nigeria. With the discovery of Oil, we abandoned Agriculture and other source of revenue. And, not only that corruption like had never been seen in the history of civilization thrived in Nigeria, oiil spillage also increased. Oil is a curse, not a blessing.
A good strategy of StartHere team. Capturing audience from all over the world covering all major stories under a month! 😂 Keep it up!
Well said ma'am. Good research.
The problem is that relevant authorities are not serious about fighting tax evasion, oil theft and misappropriation of funds in the sector because those who should police the sector's activities are also involve in one of these malpractice or the other. "A thief can't arrest a thief". The only way that can happen is if of course "a bigger thief decides to catch a smaller thief" to save face on media.
The presentation format is excellent the chart used to detail things are very clear. I can see this channel getting more follows and shares very soon.
this is a beautiful piece. it actually brought to light the schematics of the oil industry.
I am hopeful that a day will come when Nigerians will enjoy everything that God has blessed the Nation with. I also must say that the job of making things better is not that of the Government alone. Starting from elections, all Nigerians must strive to make sure that the right person/persons only gets to the sit of leadership and following that every Nigerian need to strive to keep the laws of the land. Things as little as traffic rules, being kind to neighbors and so on all play a role. It's a joint effort and together we can make Nigeria great again.
I've been to Nigeria once and corruption there is normal
Up David Umahi the governor of Ebonyi State.
If Nigerian leaders and politicians can think like this man, surely, Nigeria will be a better place. He has changed the face of Ebonyi state and projected the state as one of the leading state in the country. He has build industries, good roads, good water system, airport and stadium under construction. Fly overs everywhere, college of Nursing, ultramodern markets, unity bridges, ring roads, street lights, security apparatus and other numerous projects still under construction. All this project were achieved within the space of 4 years. This is the kind of leader Nigeria needs. He has the interest of the country and it's citizens at heart. Plz Nigerians should watch out for this man.
Amazing! Keep up the great work.
I am Indian working in Nigeria , sorry to know this blessed nation don't have a good leaders who guide this beautiful country to prosperity. Corruption from low to high level, not only politician, even military, police made their money.

Nigerians celebrate wealth not caring how it’s earned. Even the commonest person in Nigeria is greedy.

this has to be the best female presenter I have ever viewed. The seriousness, emphasis and the clarity of presentation was very good. This is how you present these stories. But I have question ? Yeah Dangote is a visionary but they will kill soon. They don’t like his pro Africa agenda like gadaffi
True but that refinery is going to save us tens of billions of dollars it’s finishing next year it’s can take Nigeria’s demand and be a net exporter aswell we also have a lot of other refineries coming on board and our agricultural sectors is on the rise in the next 2-5 years all these mishappenings will be long gone
The reason we can’t export agricultural produce is because we don’t have factories that rate safety for our produce hence we can’t join international markets but 6 of those are springing up soon in each region in Nigeria
