Good video love these videos man keep it up. Plus can you please talk more about Shenmue like the cancelled remakes new screenshots reveled for Shenmue 3 and the remakes.
That was a cool video, Adam. BIG fan of the Neo-Geo CD! I really like a lot of the older Neo-Geo titles and most of those have reasonable loading times. So even just load once and that's it. All the later fighting games though are awful for load times :P Keep up the good work! :)
I made my own PSU using an HP power supply that had the same connector. Just switched two wires around on the inside. Same connector is used on the Sharp Famicom Titler and some MSX computers from Panasonic/Matsushita and Sony, but if you tear apart one of those some other retro gamer is going have a heart-attack!
I ended up using automotive spray way on the console and applied it to the top shell when it was disassembled that way I can get into every crevice without worrying about it getting on the electronic components. Thing looks brand new. When removing the ribbon cable and putting it back in, I kept hearing crunch sounds which gave me a heart attack.. but don't worry.. it works haha
That's a very nice looking system Adam. I like the scoop at the front, the teardown is quite interesting seeing where all the parts go compared to more popular consoles and I currently have a MK2 Saturn in desperate need of a deep clean. I would like to own a NeoGeo but they aren't cheap.
I have two different Neo Geo CD toploaders. Both have disconnect-able wires from the power/video board. Been down to the main boards many times. They are very different from each other so it looks like many/most will disconnect.
HUGE HUGE tip for anyone taking apart consoles for whatever reason cleaning or modding, take pictures of the things assembled! Somethings it can be a life line!
Cool Video, thanks! I just got a Neo Geo CD but it is missing its 4 screws for the case. Can anyone tell me what size they are so i can pick up some replacements at the hardware store. Thanks so much
if you can find a Neo Geo CDZ with a broken laser you can buy it off of ebay for around $150 or less. all you need is a $15 laser which is a H8151AF, all you need is some desoldering braid to remove the anti-static solder point on it and drop it in.
Guys, did you miss out on Furrtek's Neo SD Loader? I know I sure did. Well, the good news is you can order one right now! store.phenommod.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64&product_id=64 our pre-orders close 8/31. Get your order in before then!! Furrtek made an amazing piece of kit for this wonderful console! Great video, Adam! I love these FULL teardown videos. Not even IFixIt goes into every last detail sometimes. Sometimes I just need to know where a screw goes! Definitely need more videos like this for other consoles!
Be careful with magic eraser. It is abrasive. It can cause a sheen spot if you work an area too long. A safe alternative is a soft large rubber pencil eraser.
I don't understand why you spray down consoles with scented orange Pledge. I would never do that, wouldn't that leave a film AND a scent? That just seems like a bad thing to do.
Regular Lemon or Orange Pledge are fine, they bring a nice shine and the scent is nice while it lasts. Moisturizing pledge is the kind that leaves film and just feels gross.
Damn thanks, now when I finnaly find a neo-geo I can clean it.
I dont even got a neo geo cd but these videos are so entertaining. I love tear down of hardware
A perfect Sunday night video cheers Adam
I need one of these obscure machines. Complete with box and manuals. HAIL THE OLD SNK.
I love those kind of videos
Good video love these videos man keep it up. Plus can you please talk more about Shenmue like the cancelled remakes new screenshots reveled for Shenmue 3 and the remakes.
Love seeing the insides of these consoles. Great video

Its an extremely easy console to do a region mod on. Thet even marked the jumper to add a switch to.
Joe Levesque thought the console was region free ?
RandomSauce Gaming he meant Bios mod

Don't have one, but I was watching just because I like your videos. Cheers man!
Top tip. When taking a console apart to clean, take plenty of photos of each stage. It really helps when reassembling.
Loved ur video as always my favorite type of videos u do is these can't wait to see the next one

I’ve took the pledge also!

Interesting.
Same here! On all 3 I've worked on
Cool video.

Awesome tutorial video Adam! :-)

This man is the only reason I held onto my 11 year old N64

what we need is an sd drive replacement, like the one for dreamcast it might speed up load times too.
Love your videos Adam
Wow, I didn’t expect this model to be so complicated on the inside! I wonder what the AES is like?
Not as complex tbh

I would recommend cleaning the lens with IPA, not Windex
Goood lookin console you got there!
I hope to find a neo geo in Japan at a Hard-off.
where i can buy a new ribbon flat cable in the video??my original one is damaged
thanks
Unfortunately I'm not sure. :/
Pledge is magic ...
Soldering is child’s play! Well at least for big components like resistors, capacitors, diodes, and the ends of cables 😁 Not the small chips tho.
one of the systems that i wanted so bad as a kid...
Be careful with magic eraser. It is abrasive. It can cause a sheen spot if you work an area too long.
A safe alternative is a soft large rubber pencil eraser.
I had one of those years ago the loading times are painful and I'm probably going to get slagged off for saying I hate the clicks from the controller.
Adam my dude... Sega CD model 1/2 restoration please
That's one sexy machine.
Adam, bae look into Hyperkin's N64 controller.
What games do you recommend for the neogeo cd
Neo Geo CD is a rare case where almost everything is good, problem is it's usually fighting games. If you don't like them, it's not for you.
Metal Slug
For an authentic experience, this video needed to have a rather lengthy pause every once in a while.
i have 3 of these.1 is my original water damaged machine and 2 others imported from Japan.Neither work.
Sorry to hear that.
Can u do a "fix" video for these clicky Neo Geo CD controllers?! Mine doesn't click in all directions 😭😭😭
Is there a way to fix this?
Not sure I could. :/
Replace the microswitches. If you can apply a few blobs of solder you can fix it
nice bed, bath and beyond bed sheets...
It's a table cloth actually.
@@AdamKoralik funny it looks like my striped bedsheets... without stains...

Brings a nice shine and helps them repel dust.
