Great job lads. For what it is worth, I think you should decouple the gas tank from the chassis via rubber or neoprene blocks given that Aluminium and steel expand at different rates.
This is literally my favorite car channel. Editing is so spot on. BTW, haven't seen Tim in a bit. Everything ok. Hope all is well considering the hurricane.
Awesome build (as Usual) love the new parts and time you spend putting a great video together showing the progress! I did not realize the pre 64 frame on these trucks had an X member like a convertible would have.
Great content! Love this build plus it made my otherwise crappy day (week really) a little better. As soon as I saw the video drop I put my phone on silent. I'll call my customers back as soon as the video is done!
If your ever in hobbs new mexico come to Mccormick and sons to see Jimmy. He's an old man that's works there and he still races an old el Camino that he built. Thanks guys I help him every Saturday and he's a very good person
@@SalvagetoSavage That's great. They really do make good stuff. As far as I know they're the innovators when it comes to a lot of products like the the front drop member, hood hinges etc and getting the C10s to lay frame. And in my experience, their customer service is great. Great job on the project as well as everything else I've watched y'all do. I've only been a subscriber since the Tesla swapped C10. But you guys do great work and put out great videos and entertainment.
Love the direction your new build is going. I built a 1964 GMC steppy, took 1st place at the 94 Truckin Nats. Of all my builds I miss that the most. When are we going to see more Chevelle vids?
For your next project, yall should totally do a 1979 Ford F-350 or F-150! It would be soooo sick! I have a 1979 F-350 Custom that was my grandpa's and me and my dad are going to start working on in a few months or so.
We have a 73 F100 that we did on our channel back when we first re-launched our content that you should check out! Tag us in your progress pics on IG! We'd love to see what you guys put together!
We're getting all the pieces together! Y'all don't seam to like when we give you 8 minute episodes, so we're making sure we have a decent amount of work to knock out before we put another one out!
Damn! Very awesome setup. Are u going to be doing paint and body work too? I think u should give it ur patina specialty work lol would look even more bad ass
The owner wanted to keep the body the original color/original patina. But we're going to be de-rusting the frame and coating it for longevity! Thanks for stopping back this week Fish! We love your support!
The channel is great. I do wonder the cost of the Porterbuilt parts plus the labor vs a full chassis from a place like Acme Chassis. How many hours of labor would you save starting out with a full chassis ? How would the total cost compare between the two set ups ?
Full chassis is a little more expensive, but definitely adds more value in my opinion. I know lead time of a chassis is long so sometimes a front and rear drop member are the quickest way to get a built done.

That drop member was porter built? And It should fit 1960 as well? I called porter told them I saw there product on your channel, dude advised me to get a 63-66.
The amount of times Kyle has to edit out "that's what she said" from the videos is huge. If he left them all in the videos would be 45 minutes long lol
I would be concerned that when that 1k horse power busts loose that the frame flex would not play well with that solid mount alum. gas tank . Maybe some over sized holes with rubber bushings on top and bottom ? But what do I know it might be a tailor queen .
We're taking this year off from the SEMA stress. We brought two vehicles that we built in under a year for 2021. This next time we go, we want one project that we really put all of our attention in to
I have a 62 c10 short bed and the frames are not easy. I think the 60-62 were the only frames like this they are damn near impossible to find parts for
That's why a lot of the time it's just easier to swap em out for a brand new chassis. It's really hard to weigh the headache of trying to source parts vs the heartache of spending all that dough on a new roller!
what kills me, is how i failed a inspection for welding on my frame and "modifying it" basically rendering my truck illegal to drive on the road. meanwhile in merica its way more common sense. It sucks being canadian
I Cringe watching the guy with no sleaves use a cut of wheel on the grinder with the safty guard removed, A terrible saftey example!! He can do what he likes with his own life but dont teach others how to put there lives in danger.
Why go to all that trouble when all that you seem to care about is how low you can get it ? Just drop it onto the stops and be done with it . No one will care about how it rides . Its never going to be driven further than on and off the trailer
So much attention to detail...& that's just the chassis, imagine the detail that's gonna go into the rest of the truck. Top notch crew you got there!
Thank you!!
Awesome to hear the owner has decided on the whipple option, gonna make some steam and sound wicked doing it!
We're just excited for all the extra noises! lol
Great job lads.

Good tip! We'll see if we can make some modifications!
I love the old truck builds. This is what I am interested in here at home. Thanks for the new video.
Thanks for stopping by and watching!
4 link mount holes may have lined up if you installed them on the correct sides!
Was thinking the same thing! Lots of grinding ahead of them, lol.
I’m sure they tried them on the opposite sides lol. Plus go check the kit out on the porterbuilt site that’s how they’re installed.
They look backwards
Definitely put those mounts on the wrong side. I have that same Porterbuilt kit on my truck.
Shaving the frame rails adds that Lil extra that we all love from S2S
Gotta make them baby bottom smooth!
I sure dig this build. This is the first time I've seen this porter built stuff installed. Top notch stuff here.
Thanks! There stuff is super easy considering the alternative of having to fabricate one from scratch!
best channel on UA-cam currently
Thank you so much!!
This is literally my favorite car channel. Editing is so spot on. BTW, haven't seen Tim in a bit. Everything ok. Hope all is well considering the hurricane.
Thanks so much for the support! Tim decided to move on to another project. It's sad but luckily we have a team of great guys to continue on our work!
Love the little touches that set your shop apart from other shops. Like, plugging the unused holes on the frame.👍
Thanks for noticing!!
Great work fellas where’s Tim??????
he moved on
Awesome build (as Usual) love the new parts and time you spend putting a great video together showing the progress! I did not realize the pre 64 frame on these trucks had an X member like a convertible would have.
The porterbuilt kit helps bring the rigidity back from the crossmember we cut away at the beginning of the episode!
Watching you guys do this, i feel like I missed my calling. Wish I would be building trucks and cool stuff. Thanks for the video, keep them up.
It's never to late to start!

+1 on the Porterbuilt products. I recommend them as well.
This is our second time using their kit, and it's always come through for us!

Diggin the IH in the back
We're getting it on the dyno next week so hopefully we'll be showing you this thing really ripping real soon!
I learn soooo much from watching your Channel Well Done Gentlemen

man, this is legit my favorite channel now. keep these builds up.

I love this channel! The fab work on these builds is top notch
Thanks a ton! We're stoked you like it!

That rear framework really is...

WOW Badass Mikey Im going to swing by and take a quick look at this rig cool as hell
She has even more character in person! lol
That's a clean looking frame!! It's going to look so good!!
Thank you!
Love this... hope u keep doing these

Nm. Sorry, my mind blanked lol. I don't have instagram, but is there any other way that I could update you on progress pics?
Great job you guys are talented.
Thanks!

Awesome build, Mike!

Where is Tim?
He left S2S about a month or so ago.
Dam i was wondering the same thing
Didn’t really feel like he fit in at all.
what a shame he was really good on fabrication
1st Donnie, Now Tim.... sad.
You could say “uh phrasing” for most of this video 😂😂

What back spacing did y’all end up going with on those wheels to get that clearance?
Awesome build so far. Just curious, where's Tim? Haven't seen him in any videos lately. Is he still there?
Was curious about Tim, too.
@@nicolelongneckergallery Tim no longer works here, he's moved on
@@michaelrolleri2085 dang. Hate to hear that

500 horse btw
500+ hp. I'd box the frame some more. More weight but when that 500+ hp gets old and ya add more hp you'll want that reinforced chassis.
In the end, I was sure you were gonna film Mikey. "60 yo dirt" Just kidding! 😂
Dave's new so he can't be pushing Mike's buttons THAT much yet lol
Do you think boxing in the frame would help with rigidity? great videos!
Boxing the frame would definitely help in the long run!
What are the part numbers for front kit and the rear kit? And are they built specifically for a '62?
Anyone know if Tim has his own Channel?
These guys are fucking geniuses. I wish I had their knowledge
Thank you so much man! We really appreciate that!
Great video again. 😊
Thanks again for watching!!
Nice work boizzzz!! 👏 😎🤙
Thank you 🙌

@@SalvagetoSavage ooooh darn ok well I'm still going to keep watching your videos love videos
That chassis got beefed up nicely. Are you guys still going to clean up the surface rust on some of the areas in that chassis?
Everything's going to get cleaned up before paint!
Could the aluminum tank being directly bolted to the steel frame cause an issue with galvanic corrosion?
We've run the same set up on a few builds now and haven't had any issues!
incredible content wow!
Thank you!!
Awesome

Have them send us over one and we'll try it out!
What brand kit was this again I hope I can find one for my 64 Chevy
Porterbuilt!

4 link mounts are backwards
WOW
Hope you like it!
What wheel and size wheel and tire is that?
👍 But let me remind you about an electric (1970's) Chevette rally car...... 😉
Top! 👍
Thanks!!
HE HE HEE ! HE HE HEE !
Why does it seem like those rear control arm brackets are on the wrong side???
you mean the 4 link?
Because they are!
Nope! Poterbuilt 4 link brackets for the 62 go on the outside of the frame
@@SalvagetoSavage yeah that’s correct but it looks like they need to be flipped around and swapped side to side. That’s why the holes didn’t line up.
Pretty pimp chassis kit
Thank you!

Thats alot brackets on an old ass frame would that be ok ?
ohhh yes, everything were adding will only make it better

Who makes that notch kit for 62?
Porterbuilt
isn't all dirt 60 years old?
In theory. But if we're getting philosophical, since matter can't be created or destroyed, aren't we all 60 years old? lol
✌👍
Wat happen to tim?
