      Unfortunately my bills and life goals, along with UA-cam censorship and their horrible business practices have slowly pushed me away from youtube. If I have free time, I do still get video footage and do light editing, just can't commit the same amount of time to it now that I used to. A lot of people don't understand, a video like this takes 10-15 hours just to put together well and upload. That's not including the time it takes to do the work, Sorry if that's disappointing!

    Any structural steel work that I've done over the years the procedure would certainly point out that each end of fishplates do not come to a point and in your case should have at least a 1inch nose. On certain worksites a procedure may dictate that fishplates be welded except the nose of the plate for stress relief purposes. I've followed your builds for a few years now so I know you build them strong to last a lifetime but it doesn't hurt to live and learn ! 🇺🇸🇨🇦

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  4 роки тому +1

      For sure, good tip. I'm not an engineer or trained in any aspect of car building. I just generally make educated guesses on what I'm doing lol I didn't even fishplate this one. I've never had a weld fail on me with my old crappy 110v, so i gotta believe this new miller makes any failure even less likely if not impossible lol

    • @finlaybichan1275
      @finlaybichan1275 4 роки тому +1

      i was gonna say this too, all it needs is to be rounded off, otherwise the sharp corner becomes a stress riser ripe for a crack to start from

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  4 роки тому +1

      @@finlaybichan1275 well I've never had a problem doing it this way. I see it as it's better than a straight line of weld, regardless

    • @finlaybichan1275
      @finlaybichan1275 4 роки тому +2

      @@Tinman2Kustoms and the likelyhood of you having any problems is probably slim to none i guess, that whole theory is more for big ass structural steel stuff.
      on another note, i also just got a new welder with autoset etc, and man, what a difference! my old one was ok if you spent ages dialing it in just right, but the autoset on the new one just nails it everytime, no splatter, just smooth as butter! your new one looks like its getting it right too!

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  4 роки тому +2

      @@finlaybichan1275 yeah for sure! I dig the welder. After using it for a couple months now, I prefer to turn the voltage up just a little bit from the autoset, but I like em hot, now that I finally have a welder that will do em hot lol my other welder I'd have to double pass or wide weave the welds. It was kind of sad. Haha
