    This was the perfect walk through with all the key details. Tools needed, tips on belt direction, keyway and when your grandson was in the video it really shows why we have these gokarts in the first place! Thanks.

    I am thankful you posted this. I am having an issue where the axle that’s connected to the clutch pulley somehow got bent in extreme heat and years of hard driving. How much of a process would it be to replace that axle/sprocket? Thanks for any advice

    Nice vid, only thing I would suggest is a couple drops of blue loctite on the bolt threads upon reassembly due to the vibration of the engine and rough terrain riding. But even that is not always bullet proof as far as things working loose. I speak from years of looking in places that I have been for that elusive fastener that fell out while riding😉.

    I got a KT 196 in pieces. Does that gold bushing behind the torque converter go over thicker part of the shaft i couldnt tell in video your gloves blocked it. Also is that gold bushing thicker on the inside vs the one between the torque converter where belt rides?

    • @toollife101
      @toollife101  11 місяців тому

      No it doesn't go over the thickest part. I had the same thought when I replaced my first one.

    I don't see anything wrong with our clutch but replaced belt and it was loose like in your video & burned up in 5 min. Just bought another belt and can smell burning rubber. Is there a way to tighten belt? Or is clutch the problem? Thanks!

    • @toollife101
      @toollife101  Рік тому +3

      You can't tighten the clutch but I've had a couple of issues in the past that you might check. First one time the brake caliper got stuck closed and the belt starting burning up trying to spin the axle. A new caliper fixed that. Then there was a time that the belts I got from a certain ebayer would burn up and fly apart in under a hour. It was kind of strange but I changed where I got the belts and that solved that. Lastly I once put the belt on backwards with the beveled side facing the engine. Belt burned up in no time. I hope this helps you and have a blessed weekend

    Question for you guys. I purchased a 196cc Coleman go-kart already assembled and after two days with me and my son riding in it, the square keyway ( 5x75mm) that the video mention not to take out bends/curls on while riding. It literally was curled disabling the Kart. Not sure how that happened. Is it possible the assembler didn't put the 21 mm bolt on properly or at all? I didnt see it in the housing when I took off the cover to inspect. Really confused on why i would need to replace the keyway after only two days of riding. Nonetheless, Great video, it definitely will help with the repair.

    • @toollife101
      @toollife101  2 роки тому +2

      Hello RBDynasty. That is a strange problem that you are having. The keyway can get mangled if the 21mm but comes loose or actually falls off. Sounds like they didn't tighten it correctly at the plant. You can do a search on Amazon for a replacement key and nut. Or you can go by a tractor supply or hardware store and find what you need. The keyway will be key stock that you will have to cut to length. Hope that helps my friend

    How did you know the clutch was bad? Other than the obvious slip? The reason why I ask is that when my kid accelerates we are getting a clunk clunk clunk noise as if the chain is slipping but the chain seems tight. I first noticed it because when my child would be at speed she would suddenly back off the gas and brake traction and I heard the popping noise.

    • @toollife101
      @toollife101  Рік тому +1

      @@JuanMartinez-tk4vq Take your belt cover off and inspect your belt. If it's broken or has chunks missing then that is probably the problem. If your belt is fine have someone rev the engine and see if the rear torque converter is spinning. If it is then you probably have a sheared key. Also if the key is not sheared then check your chain and sprocket on the axle of your torque converter. The chains can break or the sprockets can strip off the teeth. One other thing is to make sure the big nut has not come off the torque converter. This would allow the key to slide out and the torque converter will just spin on the axle. These are all common issues for this go kart and all the parts I spoke of can be found on Amazon. Hope this helps you and have a blessed week my friend
