Good morning from the Great State of Texas. I am glad you gave a good review of the Mountain House Chicken fajita bowl. I have been leery of trying this meal. I will now try this meal. Thank you and have a good day.
Great review man, love the cold weather rations! That is one of my favorite mountain House meals. I have a few buckets of them from when I worked at a Camping World. The store was getting rid of the camping area and went to 90 percent off. Have a great weekend!
Thanks brother!! These are fantastic!! And holy crap you got lucky with that mountain house haul!! It's not like they'll ever go bad either! Thanks for watching!!
Hi Jerms; that ectocooler comment cracked me up. First time my son and I made that beverage base I told him "well, it looks like we're drinking Slimer today...." He asked "what's a Slimer?" I have failed him as a parent.....
That main looked amazing (of course I love Mexican food so of course I think it looked amazing 😂) Thanks for sharing 😊 Thank you to all of our veterans 🇺🇸 (My hubby is a disabled vet and they consider me a vet even though I was injured in bootcamp. My daddy and uncle were also vets)
I really liked the intro on this one! I'm glad this one was delicious all around! Nice job Jerms! Oh, and since you're rapidly approaching it ...... congrats on 2.5k!!
Thanks Jeremy for the Veterans Day tidings! It was an honor to serve. Another awesome review by the way. Those Cold Weather MREs are pretty good. The freeze dried entrees are always so much better than the retort pouch ones. At least you didn’t “slime” yourself with the ectocooler drink😂! Also, I love your little assistant in your edits! Cats are great for one’s mental health 😊! Thanks for another entertaining video!
Thanks Allan! I think the MCW's are right up there with the best rations in the world! My "assistant" is not much help.... But he's cute 🤣Thanks as always for being here! I appreciate it!
Welcome back bro! I love cold weather rations I think its about time to order a new case. Ive demolished 2 cases in the last year hahaha. Great to see they are coming in regular mountain house packaging now. Also for those who don't know or never had a cold weather or mountain house the mountain house mains have a shelf life of 30 years but will most likely last way longer than that if they arent punctured. :) You can buy mountain house at most walmarts if you ever wanted to try them! They are amazing I take them camping all the time! But if you get a decent deal on a case of MCW they are about the same for the whole meal or a little less than just a regular store bought mounatin house.
Hey Chris!! These are the BEST for sure!! You're definitely right about the price of these vs. buying them in a store. Not much difference and you get everything else with it! Thanks for watching brother!!
That is one thing I haven't tried is the MCW. I've had mountain house products. I'll have to put it on my wish list. As always, what a great review. Thanks for recognizing.❤😎
Ohhh.... I always seem to watch your reviews before a meal.... and now I'm starving!! LOL. I have tried several Mountain House items, and honestly none of them of them disappointed. And what's not to like with something that's shelf stable for 30+ years...... 😛😛😛 .... great work my friend!
Hey Jerms! Wow! Great to see you review one of these new MCWs! I just found out about the new MCWs that are being produced. I recently stumbled across a few people on Ebay selling these new ones for a great price. I definitely want to pick some of these up, but I don't want to spend any more money after buying all those international rations! However, I just went on Ebay while writing this and bought one! it was $19.99 with free shipping. I got the same menu you just ate, and that was the one I wanted to try most. Mexican/southwestern style food is my absolute favorite. I was gonna get a chicken dumplings one too, but they are out of stock at the shop I just got it from. I'm gonna see if another seller has it available. There are quite a few new menu options now in the updated line of MCWs. The food in these is just awesome. It is BY FAR the best tasting US MRE food. The freeze drying process preserves most of the flavor and allows the food to last literally forever *without* preservatives. As long as the packaging holds up and the vacuum seal is not broken, the food lasts decades. It is very strange to see that they no longer vacuum seal the mains in the new MCWs anymore, but it makes sense. It is much cheaper to produce, and will make the food less susceptible to damage from the pouch being punctured. They usually add an inert gas like nitrogen to the bag after freeze drying it if it is not vacuum sealed afterwards. I'm always afraid whenever I get an MCW that the vacuum will be broken when I eat it. With these new ones I don't have to worry about that. Although I will miss the nice hiss that accompanies opening a MCW main. I always add much less water than the directions call for. Adding the recommended amount of water almost always results in soup. I don't know why they instruct using so much water with the mains in these. It is ALWAYS way too much! I also like the food to be a bit thicker anyway. And as you said, you can always add more water if it is too dry, but once it's in, you can't take it back out. The MCWs also come with a lot of food! I am always full after eating one of these meals. I just love these. They are also much lighter than a regular US MRE. I think they should make all the US MREs like the MCWs. Having freeze dried mains in regular US MREs would be awesome! Anyway, I'm gonna get a few more of these soon. I also want to get some of the new 2024 US regular MREs. They have new menus as well and completely different packaging. Funny thing is I actually got 2 new US Halal meals in the new updated packaging. But I have not yet seen any of the new US MREs for sale anywhere yet. I still have a whole bunch of those international rations I have to try. I'm gonna save the French RCIR for Thanksgiving. I will be off from work as they are closed Thanksgiving, but my parents are going to see other family elsewhere and I am not going with them, so I will be home then. It will be a nice treat for the holiday. I will see my parents and have a Thanksgiving dinner with them on another day. It kinda sucks but doing stuff like that is normal for me. I will be home with my girl. We will share an MRE together on Thanksgiving! Hehe! Anyway, always happy to see another video! Take care buddy!
Hey CB!! I'm glad you decided to buy this one! You won't be disappointed! You are spot on when you say these are the best. I think they're right up there with the best rations in the world. The nice thing about these, as you mentioned, is that they last pretty much forever if stored properly. I've learned with the food I freeze dry myself that when I calculate the water that needs to be added, I subtract just a tad since it does tend to end up a little soupy. I hope you enjoy that French RCIR Thanksgiving meal! Thanks as always for the thoughtful comment, thanks for always being here and thanks for watching!!
Very cool Jerms! Well spoken friend. This is good menu in regular MRE, so it should be awesome in MCW. Correct way to add water, agreed. I know you did, but check the Bills Brew now for dry mold. I got My first bad one last month, but I caught it before consuming, which was nice. I am glad your main rehydrated nicely. I am in the habit now, of waiting extra minutes. Main and sides look awesome. I think you ate well Brother. I am glad you enjoyed. Peace, John. Oh, cool bloopers! LOL. Your MCW sent my way will show up reviewed soon, just waiting for the weather to motivate me. Right now, it won't be long, LOL. Peace. Cute kitten BTW.
Thanks John! This one was delicious!! I'm sure you'll enjoy the MCW I sent. It's a good one! The kitten is cute, but he's a menace!! Thanks again John, I appreciate you watching!
@@jermsMRE , I know it will be good, LOL. I love that menu!! As for Kitten, I trade two dogs, and let you see the difference, LOL. You are lucky. No, I won't get rid of the dogs, although at times can be STRESSFUL ! They love to help me on reviews. Most times, I can keep them silent, just not always? Hope all are well Brother. Peace.
Mountain House tends to make good stuff. I honestly don't understand why they don't just make the freeze dried the standard for all US MRE? They could even include a little 12-15oz pack of water in a plastic baggie to address that issue.
I have to agree. These are just so much better!! My guess is, it's probably a cost issue. I'm sure the regular mains cost a fraction of these Mountain House mains. But man, they're so good! Thanks for watching Flash! I appreciate it!!
Dont be so surprised , its a Mountainhouse camping meal , repackaged for the millitary . Allmost the same menu in MCW mains , as well . Everything around the main is the standard , low end garbage , but the mains are what you would , and can , buy at any outdoor store . The only thing that isnt garbage . Just sayin
Yes, Mountain House has been making mains for the US Military since the 60's (LRP's and MCW's). Definitely why they're so good. As for the sides, you aren't wrong. They are pretty standard. But I really enjoyed this one. Thanks for watching!

Awaiting the Thanksgiving Day turkey and dressing MRE🤣
There used to be something similar from mountain house I think it was called Turkey dinner. It was amazing but they never brought it back :(

Definitely. And with some jalapeno cheese!!! Thanks for watching!!
@jermsMRE thanks Jerm 🔥🔥💀
It seems ever since Ukraine war U.S. MRE have gotten smaller with less of everything
Hard to say. I'll have to take a look at some of the new ones and compare the calorie content to the older ones. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
