I dunno man. Four of the bottom eight LMGs are VS, including the last E tier. And they have no A-rated LMGs at all. That's some serious VS suckage.

The high-mag LMGs were dead-on-arrival since launch. Sacrificed everything for a large magazine only to be surpassed by low-mag LMGs with Extended Mag. Their tier should be renamed "Noob Bait".
except for em6. best farming gun in the game.
In a big fight with good positioning its a good Farm-tool when played defensive. Also Vanus Polaris.

I hated the Bull. Auraxing it was such a slog. To each their own I guess.
I've started auraxin the Bull after I finished with the TMG 50 and boi its just painfull to kill with it.
Its funny that it is described as versatile because it can use many attachments, but none of them makes it better for what it was made for. I find the T9 CARV-S (with attachments) better to hold points with a similar "controlled" aim instead of this.
The Rhino is probably one of my favorite lmgs just due to its consistency
I've auraxied T32 Bull. This is an accurate headshot machine that requires avoidant game style (~similar to Tomoe users)
i stopped watching after i saw that bull is E tier and EM1 is higher than this. This is complete bullshit. Bull is at least C tier with its 143-125(!!!) damage model, insane reload speed and hip fire accuracy. Its also very easy to control and chain headshots with. And all this is coming from a VS main
A great tier list, honestly makes me look back to my early days of Planetside, trying so hard to find a weapon that just clicked with me without a single clue of how each weapon worked or their particular niches, making new characters again and again (cause I was stingy that way, and felt really bad everytime I made a (subjectively) bad purchase). While it's a subjective look at all the LMGs, I think this is also an great guide which also looks into the investment each weapon brings, which seems to mostly be glossed over by stats. I give this list a 100 out of good.

I know it's a lot of work, but I really appreciate the recoil pattern specs as that is one of hardest things to explain to a newer player.

Awesome list mate. Definitely shows you put a lot of work into this one. I'm NC bias, but I have definitely been on the receiving end on VS and TR varients in the C+ tier.
Love the recoil patterns. Saving it for later when I get that Godsaw and can fine tune my bursts.
Incredible video bud. I absolutely love the choices (I hate the gausssaw, but I *know* it’s a fantastic weapon worthy of S tier). Yeah I need more weapon lists like this. Not only is it great to have the stats of the weapons explained and told where they are in relation to each other, it’s also good for new players to see where the strengths and weaknesses of the guns they want to train with.
Really love the stats screen, and handling in particular. However, it's missing cost to unlock, which you talked about on some weapons, and in the intro. I understand that's not the main point, since all LMGs are costed in the same range.
(I'd add a little section on upsides for those that cost less, but it's significantly more work to think about upsides for all weapons. And already a lot of work has been put into this great video)

The Gauss SAW is a lot like the DLT-19 from Star Wars: Not only is it the NC's main LMG, it's also a battle rifle at the same time.

as someone who doesn't know anything about the overall meta of the game but enjoys coming back occasionally, information like this is a great asset so i don't accidentally waste my time on a gun that initially sounds good but turns out to be terrible.
If you're TR, "waste" your time on the Bull. It is very, very good.
Gauss Saw was the 1st weapon Ive auraximed. Its a really good gun, and feels good once you tame it. Definitely more of a medium range engagement weapon, but it can get close and personal if you k ow how to get those head shots like Cami explained.
Really enjoy this and would totes love seeing the other categories covered as well.

id throw EM6 to S tier for live server play. same damage model as anchor but practically never need to reload with the extended mag. best farming gun in the game

Okay, so your reasoning behind putting the Watchman in B tier was due to its "uptime" problems. But if you actually take the damage per mag/reload times and compare them between the Watchman and something like the Anchor, you get some interesting numbers.
Watchman: 125 rounds x 125 dmg = 15625 damage per mag w/ a 5.525s short reload
Anchor: 50 rounds x 167 dmg = 8350 damage per mag w/ a 3.37s short reload
If you take the damage per mags and make them equal (scaling reload time as well), you're left with:
Watchman: 125 rounds x 125 dmg = 15625 damage per mag w/ a 5.525s short reload
Anchor: 94 rounds x 167 dmg = 15698 damage per mag w/ a 6.3s short reload
Watchman also has higher DPS: 1785 vs. the Anchor's 1670 (minimal, but it's something to note)
So I honestly think the Watchman is at least A tier, but imo it's better than the Carv so it should be S tier on your list.

Wish there were tier lists for far more things in the game, from other weapon classes, to NS weapon tier lists, vehicle/vehicle weaponry tier lists etc etc

I hope my boy the VX29 Polaris Vanu LMG gets it's deserved place.
As a Vanu it's my favourite high capacity LMG! It's 25(!) meter max damage is rather silly. It's not the deadliest LMG, but the most consistent one in my experience. And I will stan for it until I die (or it gets changed or other external factors)

It also shows how much less good VS weapons are out there and how much "worse" their recoil pattern and COV is...even tho a good player can work that out..in everyday combat it alot more often makes the slight difference in kill or being killed.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I agree with. Usually with videos like these I don't feel like they actually understand the gun mechanics and how they all fit together. I'm glad you know the mechanic of the nagi, and can also explain it.
Tho I'm confused why you make a point about it not being based on Jaeger, when the top S tiers are also what's used on Jaeger. Watchman isn't used much in scrims, for the same reasons as live, too much reloading
You’re definitely one of the people I wanted to hear from in regards to the list, and I appreciate the thoughts mate. Been working around the weaponry mechanics in this game for a long time so I feel comfortable in discussing it now.
In regards to Jaeger, while I understand that the top pick LMGs here do transfer well to Jaeger, I wanted to eliminate it from the consideration due to how differently it plays. Believe it or not, on the stream where we discussed this list, many argued for the watchman to be higher on the basis of its performance on Jaeger, so it needed to be said IMO. It’s the same mentality we’ll be using for the rest of the tier lists to keep things consistent.
I hope you do more of these lists.

Great video as always, hope to see these types of lists for other weapon categories, and even maybe for suit slots to give some insight to potential new/returning players coming for Oshur. Main thing I'd tweak here is the bull as it is laser accurate, and overall a great easy to use weapon for TR, it'd move it to D if not C tier. I'd also move naginata up a bit as it is extremely good, even better than the ns-15 once you master it. As for Galilei, you meant it takes 1 day to unlock, not one month :) In any case it's very disappointing as all NSO directives asides from the Newton, and I'd barely place the Galilei above D tier. It's an slightly more accurate orion with a carv reload and that massive handle that blocks half your screen when you aim. Very disappointing, wouldn't ever use over the other weps.
For me it takes a month chief, I can't sit down and grind out a weapon in a day nowadays. It's not a smart way to run content considering that doing so puts other videos on hold, not just the original one. So yeah, sadly no dice on that one. Will try and work on this in the long run.

Mate, you missed it with the bull. What sets it apart is the higher min damage range which can then be paired with sp ammo. It's a faster firing ns-15 m2 which makes it extremely accurate and easy to handle for hs chaining. Stats do not speak for the weapon at all.
I remember going off during the stream about how the Gauss-Saw S needed to be in its own F tier cause of how crap it is. Ah good times. Cheers m8!

My biggest gripe with the gauss saw is that incredibly slow weapon switch time. I usually only play heavy in an anti vehicle role and I get stomped when switching back and forth from rocket launcher to gauss saw. Or if you try to use the knife it takes an eternity before you can fire again. Not a fanatic of the bloom either, as i play PUBG a lot too and forget in the heat of the moment that just because your crosshair is on target doesn't mean the bullet hits there.
for the Bull its worth noting its 143-125 dmg model has no drop off so you can run a silencer, and with its solid velocity and recoil + reload speed it can be used like an mswr but silenced with more range for lower dps
I dont think it should be moved though, just a fun note that makes it unique in TR, like the guass saw for NC

ns15 even slightly worse than bull except its 0.75x ads movement speed multiplier and soft point ammo.
@@noble_lemon hva is superior to spa in general, unless the dmg drop off is instant (like 125 base dmg) or its dmg drop off is really fast like with the armistice
in the case of 143-125 dmg guns or 200-167, dont ever bother with SPA, as having zero ammo is better

Never played PS2 on computer, only PS4 but man......epic comes to mind. It took a minute to get over the graphics but some of the battles were something to behold. Very cool for this old timer that started out playing pong on Atari.
7:10 i think to know why, the longer reload making it harder than necesary to use and the damage patern beein closer to clasical weapon (in therm of dps its closer from the 167 kind of weapon). the weapon fall short without investing in the ammo capacity higly with the atachement and suit(wich make it reload faster too) it barely begin to be competitive at this point.
personaly i love the weapon for its quirk(i loved the flare for the same reason), and to me it bring to the table in the nso arsenal somthin closer to the flare family than the xmg-200. using it as the flare and fam, after the investement in reload speed and ammo capacity bring to the table a prety good weapon to use in many situation, after all the damage patern is really good with a easy to use recoil patern(in the nso fashion) tho i agree totaly with his place in the tier list and the down side cami say about, just i see that cami didnt had time to use it much (battlefield taking time too).

09:31 u forget that the xmg-200 have one of the best reload time of the familly with the tr version, while keeping his high velocity AND soft point ammo (flare was the only one with soft point) so in the versatility departement and long range kick, the xmg-200 have still stuff to compansate his slower rate of fire.
A carbine tier list will be amazing!!

i had little issue with the Bull, laser accuracy and high velocity. The Rhino is mediocre but the extended max damage range is quite handy

The Carv was so freaking unusable for me when I started out, that my first auraxied LMG was the platinum variant of Naginata that came free with those codes. But I have began my journey to the fabled Butcher after getting gud at heavy assault.

NGL, I know the EM-1 isn't meta, but I got it back then to help train my aim and I discovered that with a irnv sight and smoke grenades, the em-1 can be very effective as a suppressive weapon at mid to long ranges. But, that's just my experience with it.
Only reason I have the tmg50 and the bull is because I thought they were the gauss saw and em6 equivalents for TR. Which a lot of my weapon choices on other factions tends to reflect. I have the AMC because it was the TR role equivalent of the ACX-11; which is still one of my favorite carbines, even if it's one of the middle of the road weapons.
I would probably have added at least 1 NSO or NSX weapon to the top tier aswell, just to crown a victor on each of the teams. Other than that, lovely video, mate!
The other thing about the Watchman is that that already underwhelming mag capacity to reload ratio gets even worse when you use the impact ammo, and it doesn't help that the equip time is on the longer side too. Still like the gun though, and I'm not even that good at clicking heads.
I wonder, do you consider to make a Tier list on all weapon types? Would be great for newer player or just for people with longer breaks between play periods (like myself)
I'm currently doing the Gauss Saw auraxium grind. Though calling that a grind doesn't accurately describe how insanely enjoyable it is.
I was somewhat unimpressed with the gd-22s, so I came here hoping to find out which other lmgs I want to aurax, and I think I'll take the anchor instead of that one

Anywhoville thanks for the constant videos on weapons and their use. Because of them I've been branching out from engineer into LA, and HA a bit more. I even got a LOT of use with the promise, and swarm during those bruhahas around the mining drills tonight.They made for a good combo as I hung near a sunderer shooting folks coming in after the miners.
Oddly enough I still don't have the Anchor...

The MAW in low tier makes me smile because damn, i spray 3-4 men down before they get me lately with it!

I'll be honest, I play on PS4 and when I first played with the gaussaw I was like "Yeah.... Trash..." I couldn't kill the broad side of a barn with that recoil pattern. One I figured it out... I have a hard time putting it down. Working on my LMG directives right now and doing the nc6 last so when I get the godsaw it's not too big of a leap, because frankly, I like the promise too.

Good to see the XMG-100 in A tier, cause it honestly feels MUCH better then the XMG-200 when I thought the XMG-200 would've been better because of the accuracy and damage per shot. So as an NSO main, I approve of this tier list

Also glad we agree on most of TR lmgs. I had all of C to A tears with exception of Carv-S and Butcher.
Run the watchman with ammo belt. The reload buff reduces short reload by nearly a full second.

I like the Anchor and could never figure why I struggled with the Maw. Recoil pattern, that's it.
Personally my favourite LMG in the game is the Promise. That recoil scaling made it click with me from the get go in a way that the gauss saw and the anchor didn't. I like a weapon where I can just hold down left click and shit dies. Not really having to worry about recoil control and not having such a small mag size that you're pissing away all your ammo in a short spray. Like, I'm sorry, but if you're giving me an "lmg" with a sub-100 mag size, far as I'm concerned it's an assault rifle.
After watching this, gonna have to try the EM6 out at some point though. That thing sounds pretty up my street too.

I think you misspoke slightly about the Betel: The betel DOES NOT cool off while unequipped IF IT OVERHEATED. Instead of waiting 6s for the overheat to go away, just manually reload it for a 3.5s snappy reload, which is a buff from the old Betel as it's uptime without swapping weapons is now faster. (The betel will still cool off whilst unequipped should you not overheat)
I have 3,770 kills with Gauss Saw and I can fully agree that is the best one. Love it.

Half of the VS LMGs are D tier or below, with no A tier LMGs, and we still get painted as the easy mode faction.
Most people just say “nerf beetle” and forget about everything else (the beetle did need a nerf tho)
The thing is we have no LMGs that are comparable to the TR and NC’s best, other than the Orion and Beetle, both are good cqc, but the Orion has meh uptime and the beetle is the directive LMG, so it takes a crap ton of grinding to get.
That gun isn't even easy to get, the best weapons used to be the default NC, that say's something about who has it easy and that the Dev's still are VS bias like always, then again when you get interviews with them they also stated to not want to play VS.
i would have definetly placed the la1 anchor in S-teir along with the gauss saw...even if it had a slightly lower theoretical ttk than the gauss saw. its just more accurate and better suited for pushing a point than the gauss saw id say its even better than the orion or MSW-R due to having a higher dmg per bullet.

Just as a question as a fellow NC... even if it isn't *technically* an LMG, where would you put the T7 Mini-chaingun (TR)?
TR main here. Cheese tier heavy's are better off taking anything else for crowd control. You only see new players or ASP's use it and the ASP's are only using it for cheese. Maybe might see some one using it for directive but that's it. It's fun to use but only effective in Biofarm situations.

Mostly what Vegan said. I personally have it on a setup designed around holding an area/corridor, but it's relatively bad compared to other TR offerings even with the BRRT. It's good for being a MAX lite tho, and spray transferring is the name of the game, especially with extended mags
In after the new update; solid A tier now. The headshot multiplier finally found itself on 2x like the rest, and can take down infantry in the same speed as an anchor now, with more daka.
