Absolutely lovely home! I also agree with your way of thinking when it comes to decorating everyday and seasonal. It should not be so much work you don’t have time to enjoy the season itself. Do what makes you happy in your home not exhausted.
Thank you so much. Living seasonally is meant to help you be more in tune with nature so just afew nature finds are all that is required. When Daisy was little we used to have a nature table which can bring much more joy than something manmade from a shop
I adore your Hobbity Cottage. The stone walls, shutters, fireplace and open shelving are great features. The clock is EXCELLENT! No wonder you love this snug little place, it's ideal.
Your home is lovely, well done. The shutters are such a good idea and so practical too, I’m going to look into getting some made now as my bedrooms face full west and can be stifling in summer, so keeping the sun out would be a perfect solution. I’m completely agree about the books too, I can’t understand why anyone would turn them around, and I feel the same about putting them in colour order too, I just don’t understand it ☺️
You have done an amazing job, I don’t think you could get anymore “cosy’ than this. I love the Shutters, we have them and they are one of the best things we have had done. Keep the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer ✨💕
Oh it's adorable. You've really done well with it. I think you've really been true to the Spirit of the House. Such a peaceful atmosphere. And I love your view.
Love your home..I also decorate with primitive and antiques and you mastered your space space absolutely love that clock and chair makes that space ❤❤❤❤
I’ve watched this clip a few times now coz I absolutely love your magical cottage ❤ I live in a tiny cottage in the forest so I can relate. All my furniture and decor is either vintage, antique, thrifted and foraged. My furniture is dark too and I love it. I also love vintage pottery.
Another thought… old books make beautiful decorations. Your books look lovely, 😊 but you might try spreading them about for a different look. Just an idea. We have so many old books that I had to do that with some of mine because my bookcase was full to overflowing! Look up decorating with books for inspiration. I envy you your home! It looks so cozy and a good place to relax.
I love your cottage and I agree its much nicer to not not have so much stuff. Im not a fan of minimalism but when I was a child there was not all this chopping and changing and being a slave to fashion. I live in an old farm labouers cottage in north Northumberland and most of my furniture is Georgian antique but not grand. As you say you can pick stuff up that is over 200 years old for less than than you'd pay for mid range modern stuff and will continue to last lifetimes due to the quality of materials and craftsmanship
Thanks so much. Your cottage sounds wonderful. Yes I just don't understand the throw away consumer culture at all. Not good for the planet or your pocket!
Your homes magical💝 has a beautiful feeling from watching you show us💝 I love the window shutters, my mum always had metal mop buckets throughout our childhood. X
Loved seeing this! Very inspirational; thanks for going through the trouble. I know it can be very personal but if you are ever up to hear I would be here for seasonal/wheel of the year content, for example things you do to prepare (for Samhain) or how to celabrate
@@cerridwencottagediary9194, thank you bunches for your kind reply. 😊 I'm delighted to hear that you are pleasantly acquainted with my city! Love your cottage, I agree about the books, if you feel the need to turn books the wrong way on a shelf I would suggest you have OCD or something similar. I have my books in order of Authors or a category ie cookery, history etc I know where to find them.
Your cottage is perfect I would leave the books in the front room as they are beautiful place...just looking at my stools in my kitchen they turned yellow need to sand and paint or stain them 💕✨☘️
I found your channel by chance but love your videos, the cottage is beautiful. I used to live in Welshpool and drove around the places near you. I really miss the area, so your videos are special. Please keep on making videos especially around Yule. Thank you both
Just subscribed today, your garden & home look absolutely magical! I lived in beautiful Wales & long to return asap! looking forward to following you both!
This video was absolutely beautiful! Its wonderful to see your space and how you made it so true to character, its so cosy and really feels like going back in time to a beautiful place i love it! This is so inspiring and in fact has really made me miss Wales (where my parents live now- north wales) and makes me want to save up for a cottage as well and to leave london 🙈 i think it was deep down always my dream to live in a little space like that (and slowly make it a hobbit hole ☺️) but never thought if it was possible or affordable, but i think anything is more affordable than even a london flat...so maybe i will hold onto that dream, so thank you i just wanted to say you deeply inspired me today. Love, Lika ❤❤
Thanks so much. The cottage was the cheapest property on the market when I bought it as it needed so much work and had no character visible. My advice would be get somewhere that needs work so you can make it exactly how you want it and aren't paying for someone else's taste. I really hope your dream comes true xx
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 yes that is good advice indeed...I think it would be a dream for me. Anyway, you have inspired me to make my little flat into even more of a hobbit house and it's amazing ☺️🙌🤗
@cerridwencottagediary9194 that's amazing! Just proves you can still make it yours even in the smallest space, so you have officially motivated me to continue to make my flat a hobbit hole without someone telling me it's "too much or extra" haha
Looked it up and actually the cupboard with our tinned goods and plates is very similar with a drop down door that we can use as a worktop. I should have opened it up so people could see what it's like. Thanks so much for your comment
I just wanted to comment and say how much I love your videos. This was such a cosy watch. Me and my daughters (5&8) always love your videos! We live in a small cottage too and we adore it - this video was so inspiring. I loved that you touched on living with less, stopping overconsumption, buying once and well and decorating with free elements within nature. All so inspiring for a fellow cottage dweller -we would love to see more x
I just keep watching this video as it is so inspiring! Is there any way you could share what type of Willow Ware dishes you have? I see these here and there, some just say Japan, some say Willow Ware Royal China underglazeK52, and others. I figured you would have the real deal! Thank you!
What a lovely comment, thank you. I think the older ones don't say anything on the back(mine don't) but it may depend on the pottery. I got mine from reputable antique dealers that could accurately date the pieces x

I prefer an unfitted kitchen for vintage homes.
They do feel more in keeping don't they
