- In this video, we will take a tour of my dear friend Barb's home. It was built in the 70's and over the years, her and her husband have made it into a Colonial dream!
WOW! Barb has exquisite taste and a talent for decorating and design! Her home should be featured in some fancy home decor magazine! Just WOW!
Her home has been in Country Sampler magazine and will be featured next Christmas in A Primitive Place magazine. That's why I couldn't take Christmas video.

Absolutelt wonderful home! I lived in New England decades ago and we toured many historic Colonial homes. Even kept season passes for Old Sturbridge village and home some Colonial furniture. I would never have guessed it was a tri level. She did great with the decor. Does she volunteer or work as a Colonial interpreter? I love wrought iron kerosene floor lamp in the dining room WHERE can I get one? Thanks for showing us the house. Any chance we'll see it decorated for Christmas?
Thank you! She is retired and is a pastor's wife. We can't do Christmas because a magazine is coming in January to photograph the Christmas decor and she had to sign an agreement no video or photos of Christmas decor this year. I have no idea where the kerosene lamp came from. She's had a lot of her things for years.

Those high boys are fantastic!! I have to see into getting one of those. And of course a colonial house wouldn’t be complete without a lovely poster bed. I’m glad I found the right poster bed for me.

For a young person I adore colonial above anything modern. It has so much Character, and it is so durable. I could see myself living in this house.

Thank you! I wanted to do Christmas, but her home will be featured in A Primitive Place magazine this Christmas and she had to sign a contract that no photos or videos of her home would be taken for her Christmas decor this past year. Hopefully I can do it this year.

I love the interior of that house. It doesn’t even look like a house that anyone lives in, it looks more like a museum. A Colonial style House Is absolutely a desire of mine To have. It looks like it took years to collect all those valuables.

Oh my, the tavern room is absolutely amazing Barb and Dave, period correct and would rival the tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. Your colonial home is beautiful, including the hooked rugs and stenciled rooms..recognized Redware from David T. Smith, his pieces brings out that touch of colonialism. I'm off to Colonial Williamsburg this coming Wed for the Christmas events, Kandye..Always come home with many decorating tips and antiques..there are a couple of awesome antique mall's in the town of Williamsburg..taking a make and take class (event) in the horticulture building at Colonial Williamsburg..using fresh greens, fruit, ect..thought of you Kandye and how you would enjoy everything Colonial Christmas..🎄🎀

This colonial style was very popular here in Southeast Virginia in the 80s and 90s. My mom, sister, cousin and several others l knew decorated in this style. I used to build antique reproduction furniture for them and do paintings in the primitive country style. Living near Colonial Williamsburg was a great source of inspiration.
Living near CW would have been so awesome! The thing I love about this style, is it never goes out of style and everyone loves it when they see it!
@@cabincrafts2239 Yes it is a very warm and welcoming style. My sister had a large Williamsburg style home which l designed for her in the mid eighties. She downsized after her husband died and for a while she was into the beachy style of decorating which l think she has since grown tired of. The house you showed is beautiful.

She is feeling better. They had the home covered in cedar siding and stonework and they have a very small backyard and it's in a subdivision so her house really stands out.
