Became nostalgic while watching it , during my childhood days used to travel a lot in MG trains with my grandfather and parents , Now i miss all those days
am missing this train.. in my childhood..i used to travel with my parents in this train. but now it changed into broad guage...love from #madhepura #bihar....
I like the Indian railways a lot. This video is very beautiful. The brown diesel locomotive as the passenger cars formed a homogeneous train. It is unfortunate that the metric track is replaced by the broad gauge. I live thousands of miles away; I wanted to travel on these trains.
I hope all the meter and narrow gauge train tracks are preserved as heritage tracks, only update the trains and engine so they are more efficient. It is such a lovely addition to the heritage of indian trains and its beautiful rural landscape. JSK
I remember watching a MHW YDM-4 hauling a MG Passenger train twice. Once I saw it moving slowly on the viaduct spanning across the Narmada River at Sanawad and the other one I saw at a level crossing at Mhow sometime in early 2012. MG trains are always a visual treat! Now I regret that I did not capture any of them properly even as I'd been to Mhow quite a lot of times. As of December 2017, I remember watching a chugging BG ALCo hauling flatbeds probably loaded with electrification poles. Indeed, times have changed a lot. BTW, thank you for uploading a video of YDM's in action!
my child hood was past with small sation with uncle mst of my time was past Ralway and in station still i like to see Railway and engine i enjoind this remberance
At 0:41 the track switch doesn't appear to be in the correct position, yet the train goes over it smoothly! Am I missing something or does the weight and force of the train push the track into the correct position anyway?
Ye line abhi bhi meter gauge he kya... Me 2001 me first time in train me safar kiya hu wo bhi meter gauge wali... Wo meri meter gauge ki first and last journey thi.... Uske baad mene phir kbhi meter gauge train nhi dekhi.... Ab to ye line kaha dikhati bhi nahi... 😌😌
Nice video. I haven't travelled by either meter gauge or narrow gauge. More over I think the government should try to preserve the meter gauges and narrow gauges for the future generations as well as a part of the Indian railways heritage.
Thanks for watching! Yes indeed some meter gauge as well as narrow gauge lines have to be preserved. This line from mhow to kalakund has now been made into a heritage site and will be preserved.
No more ircon ydm4 for pax train malaysia... Most of the loco currently sold to YTL for electrified double track in southern Malaysia, east coast rehab project and klang valley rehab project.. I used to work with this loco, smoky, vibrate but yet very reliable
Very soon it will become history. In Jan 2019. Railway will stop this service due to broad gauge conversion. And in this vedio my friend is drivering this train. Few days back I enjoyed footplate from choral to mhow. I enjoy a lot.
I guess no-one noticed that at 1:02 that first switch is against the oncoming train and he doesn't stop to align it. I'm guessing it's what we here in the US call a spring switch. I didn't see any markings on the switch to indicate that.
In my knowledge fastest train that time between Ahemdabad to Delhi in meter gadge Ashram Exp.jest like Rajdhani Exp.same color i travel so many time very very good
The Mhow-Patalpani-Kalakund section would be preserved as Heritage track. The '52965' heritage train runs currently on this track. I recently travelled on this passenger train, which is counting its last days. You can find various travel vlogs for the Heritage Train.

I am puzzled by the points set seen at 0:15 onwards. They are set for the line curving off to the left whereas the train is coming towards the camera on the main line even though the points are set against it !! Are these spring loaded points ? That only can explain this puzzle of wrong set points.
Rajaram S Yes, these are spring loaded points which will align when the wheels pass over them. These ensure safety and prevent a train from rolling on to the main line.
Suraj Ethiraj Thanks ! I thought so....then it must be a ghats section with steep gradients. We have spring loaded points at such sections to isolate the mainline for safety. Thanks for a brilliant video.
Metre gauge trains of Bangladesh is far better than india...........We have luxurious indonesian P.T. Inka coaches and in bangladesh metre gauge coaches height are much higher than indian metre gauge coaches.........
The operation of Akola Mhow MG train has been stopped w.e.f 1Jan 2018. Instead of converting it Broad guage the train should be restarted from Akola as Tourist train on the lines of Palace on wheels with help of IRCTC, Railways, Forest Department of Both Maharashtra and Madhya pradesh as it passes through a dense reserve forest in Melghat.

Thanks purane din Jo meture gaje journy me bitaye yad dilane ke liye
If this meter gauge is so wonderful then imagine how much wonderful narrow gauge will be 😍😍
Narrow gauge is still used in a lot of places while metre gauge is shutting down completely. Old 5-6 routes left.
Beautiful. Thank you for this fantastic video. This integral part of our history will soon be consigned to books and legend.
Grenville Dcosta Thank you for watching
Wow I loved this meter gauge train scene village
Yehi train me maza tha bahut sukun Ka Safar tha

Thanks for the video. Even broadgauge trains had this same brown colour before all of them were made blue some 15- 20 years ago.
