GameCube or the switch just cuz they’re great 😂
Gamecube, first Nintendo console I played. The first game I played on it was Sonic Heroes, which I liked.
The GameCube, it had epic games such as Luigi’s mansion, Mario sunshine, 4 Mario party games, double dash, 2 Zelda games, and a rerelease of skies of Arcadia, just to name a few
Super NES
The Nintendo64! It opended up a whole new world for me as a kid :)
This is why I love the Switch: it's a mix of everything that has made Nintendo great.
It has the portable aspects from the Game&Watch and Game Boy series.
The motion controls from the Wii.
The local multiplayer (the way it was presented on the Nintendo 64 with party games like Mario Kart and Goldeneye).
The stylish look that makes the company.
And probably they will add eventually some dual screen feature just like the DS and Wii U.
I just love it, man.
Oh, and you forgot, quality IP's with an increasing amount of third party games. I love the library of games for the Switch and it's still growing!

Its hard to believe that Nintendo has been making video game consoles for exactly 40 years now. They've been in the console market way longer than any other gaming company. Sony has been in the console market for 23 years, Microsoft for 16 years, Sega for 18 years (before they quit) and Atari for 21 years (also before they quit). Nintendo has definitely been through a lot over the years, and I hope they continue what they do best, which is making unique consoles with great games.

And yes Sega started the same time as Nintendo, but they also quit the console market in 2001. Nintendo has been continuously making consoles over the years and haven't left the market. Which means that they have been in the console market the longest.

Definitely me lol. The SNES 3D model they used is a little off, though...
only thing that bothered me was that they didn't clarify the american SNES model was used in the north america only, and the SNES for other territories were based off the japanese model.

Some bootleg Famicom controllers use that layout to accommodate some turbo B/A buttons, but you are right, the official Famicom's controllers do not look like that, and only controller one has start/select buttons, while controller two has a microphone/volume control.

Not quite, they forgot the Visteon Dockable Entertainment featuring GameBoy Advance. Look it up. It was the final official iteration of the GBA and could be played on a large screen and had traditional controllers.

IGN, I have to give you props for this video. It's epic. Great topic and beautiful presentation.
Only thing I would add is to highlight some more of the innovations some of these consoles brought or popularized that ended up as a standard, like shoulder buttons, thumb stick, triggers, rumble... etc. similar to what you did with the dpad.

The nintendo Wii was the only console I ever camped out for, me and my little brother waited outside circuit city to purchase it. We weren't well off growing up, so I had to mow a lot of lawns, and my mother gave us the other half. It was such a nostalgic moment that I'll never forget.

The Nintendo Entertainment System is my favorite and I know the switch has a lot of great games but I don’t really catch my self playing other consoles then the NES this goes along with the other consoles it’s just the nes has a lot of great games and I always go back to them and some of the new games aren’t that memorable most of the time and usually I don’t play the games again after defeating them but games like Zelda, Mario, and other classic games I still play even after defeating it.

Nintendo may not be winning in sales but its definitely winning our hearts.
The Witness it’s handhelds are always on top of the competition and the wii outsold the ps3 and Xbox 360 by quite a bit?? The wii u was it’s only fail console (if you exclude the virtual boy), and the switch is definitely going to surpass the Xbox one and I believe it will surpass the ps4 as well. Also you should know that they have the most money in the bank out of the 3 companies. So how are they not winning in sales??

Well, I grew up with a SEGA Genesis and loved it, but later I began loving Nintendo too, because of the Gameboy Advance, Wii and Nintendo DS.
Both SEGA and Nintendo made some pretty cool consoles.
Craig Lister My first ever Console was the Wii, it had pretty great games but I didn’t understand the motion controls (cause I was very young) but going back to the Wii it was a blast and it still is in 2017. Oh I can’t forget about the first party games those were awesome

I'm 45 yrs old & I got a Wii U. I find that Nintendo's library is a hell of a lot more fun to play than the other consoles. Yes... Of course Mario still rocks.
Personally, I think the NES looks better than the Famicom. But the Super Famicom looks better than the SNES 😂
In Europe, we had the best of both: the same NES as in the US, and our Super Nintendo is based on the Super Famicom model. :)

I grew up on the Wii, DS and 3DS.
The Wii is on 1st place. Had amazing and fun games like Wii Party and Wii Sports Resort. 3DS on second with Super Mario 3D Land and Pokemon Sun. On the DS I had Super Mario and Mario Kart DS.

I always thought the GBA was 16 bit cause I'm thinking of regular Nintendo Consoles,NES 8 Bit,SNES 16 Bit,Thought Game Boys did the same thing,They certainly had certain games from SNES That's why i always thought of it

I am going emotional when i watch this. I was a small kid when i touch my first Game Boy, i really dont understand at this time, that gaming will change my life and future. Now more than 25 years later i still play Nintendo Games (on Switch), also i go in Virtual Worlds with my Oculus Quest. I have see so much, thanks Nintendo for this!
