Racing a bike will honestly be the best thing you might ever do on bikes, my experience was some of the best memories, great people, hard but fun racing and the satisfaction from the steps you make, sooo satisfying. Enjoy it, pick your battles on track, and make yourself a checklist that you run through before heading out on track. Especially brake caliper bolts if swapping wheels last minute due to rain :D Can't wait to see how you do!
Great advice, thank you I’m so excited to get out on that first race but I will make a checklist and routine, cheers!
Will you be headed to Illinois as part of the championship? Would love to come watch if you are.
it’s a smaller club racing event, it’s mainly in California and 1 race in Arizona.
Live the dream man. I've been out working and haven't had time to look at too many videos so I'm playing catchup. Too bad you cannot video your first race. That would be cool to watch. Here in Texas, things are spinning up quickly. I already did one track day in Houston and will be scheduling for a track day in May in preparation for Mecca (COTA) in June. Of course, everyone is spinning up for MotoGP in April, which will be great to watch with all the seat changes and new riders. I've only seen Laguna, but I'm thinking that would be an awesome track for you to ride/race. Good luck on your racing career. Even if it's just a season, like you said, to be able to say you've raced would be choice. Take care and keep the dirty side down.
Hey Jerry thanks man! I hear ya on work, Its been a lot to handle lately. I hope they let me at least run a cam attached to the bike.. will see. COTA will be awesome, I was in TX most of last month sadly in El Paso which was just to far to go check out COTA, one of these days I’m going to get out there.
excited to see this!
Thanks bro, I’m excited to get out there. I need to put in some more work though. Been working out like crazy lately to build up that stamina
Last year I bought a R7 also, your channel of mods/upgrades and bits has been a really invluable source of information for me, so wanted to say thank you for that. Also, I am the same, have a similar life goal of just being able to 'compete' or get on grid for a season, or even race or two. So I wish you all the luck with it, and I will be keeping an eye on your progress as I slowly chip away at my goal too. Ride safe!
I’m glad it’s been helpful man, I appreciate that! Thanks for the support, I hope you get in as well it’s going to be a great experience
Cant wait to see the upcoming vids!!!
Thanks man, cheers!
Broooo, youre living the dream lol. This is what everyone (at least that I ride with) wants to do. I love that you're a josh herrin fan also and filmed that session. Good luck at the races 🤙
Hell yea bro, thanks for the support
Eyyy Nice one Scout!! So amped for the series... And a helluva pity you have to miss a few races to work to get money to race... The irony is not lost on us... Hahaha
And you need to finish up that vid mate. What you had down already is super nice. Great footage. Great story telling... Top shelf mate!
Thanks bro, but it looks like work is taking me out of the first 3 races now lol but the march one might be due to us getting a ride in 👊🏽
@@ScoutsOut Hahaha... I was actually concocting a plan for your next visit in my head yeasterday... :D
333!
👊🏽
Congratulations! I dream with going to the track one day. It would be awesome if you could share some guidance and advices on how was the process for you since how to sign up, to do's, etc. Thanks!
Thanks man, that’s a good idea. I’ll see if I can put something like that together
Great video Scout, the number 333 is great, I like it. I am curious. Ride on and have a great Sunday mate🤙
Thanks ck, I’m excited to get the first race out of the way and get ride of the jitters lol have a good week bro!
@@ScoutsOut I understand you, but it will certainly be an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to hear your feedback. Thank you very much, have a great week too
Dustin at trackdaz is a great dude, used to ride with them a lot
Nice dude, yea man they are a good crew of peeps
hey Scouts, I just recently bought a brand new yamah r7 in matt grey with the colourway, absolutely loving it ! quick question with your Puig windshield I've got then tinted version but it seem to be squicking abit because its not a direct fit to the r7 like the r6 is yours doing the same thing at low speeds and if so have you tried fixing it or have you left it as is?
I have both the clear and tinted and neither on mine did, but you are not the only one. I’ve had this question a few times. The fix was to put a small amount of tape on the front lip that goes into the fairing
your a legend mate ty for your response !@@ScoutsOut
Are you happy with the final position you selected on attack performance rear sets? Thank you
Man I just changed them again last night lol now they are as low and as forward as they can go so will see, if this doesn’t work then I’ll go back to what I just had which was as low as they can go and only 1 position back from the front
I went with the graves rearsets as they provide 20 mm more adjustability than the attack perf. Attack perf look amazing.
racing eyy???? I think its time to sneak in a big bore kit
Haha that would be cool or the turbo kit 🤔
Where are those roads at?
Central California on the coast, sadly only looks green for about two weeks out of the year lol
1st
👊🏽
Go with a 16/44 gearing and a longer chain 110 links. lower the front by 5mm. 3/8 longer wheelbase and lower front make this bike really stable mid-corner and holds a line beautifully. Good luck racing!
I’m still nervous of doing that man, the bike already feels super stable and long compared to my zx4rr, maybe for the longer straight away track I have to ride this year I might try it out on
@@ScoutsOut My bad bro, I left out if you run a good track tire like Michelin power cup 2 or Dunlop Q5 then those front tires are taller and this corrects the geometry.
@@BigEbikesports ohh that’s good to know! Thanks for the info man!
Did he get rid of the zx4r?
I sure do! I’m about to push out a clip on install vid for it
