DeBrusk is a playoff performance. That’s what we need. 💪🏼
DeBrusk is younger, cheaper and a natural winger. The better question is what would you rather have: Lindholm or DeBrusk, Heinan and Forbort?
Lindholm for Debrusk and Heinen is a good swap
The Canucks wanted to trade Lindholm to Boston for Debrusk who they picked up for nothing. Makes the net loss of losing Lindholm zero since we ended up with Debrusk anyway.
Lindholm is a solid C but we needed a scoring winger. DeBrusk or bust
A 3rd line center (which he'd be here) is nowhere near as valuable as a top6 winger to play with petey. Only loss is RH faceoffs. Contract heavily sways is debrusks way
Zadorov owes alot of his success to the Canuck coaching staff and Forbert will be the beneficiary this year. Lindholm will have a ton of pressure on him but he's no Bergeron. Will be interesting how that long term contract ages. The best thing about Debrusk's contract is his age. Way too much given to old players this year.
Debrusk is wwwwaaaayyyy better value than Lindholm. Debrusk is a better fit for Petey, more upside potential, plays with aggression/edge, cheaper...paying 7 mil for an already old x 7 yrs Lindholm would be a disaster long-term. Blueger can do 3rd line centre duty almost as well with Garland/Joshua.

Idk why, but i noticed a "cold shoulder" vibe between those two, Petey and Lindholm. Obviously they didnt exactly click. Odd, as Lindholm looked at times to be a dangerous player in front of the net. Well, he's gone now..
Petey is a video games kinda guy while Lindholm is family oriented, go to Disneyland kinda guy. Nothing in common besides hockey between the 2.

Last season the Canucks feasted on the weakest division in hockey, Sharks, Ducks, Kraken, Flames all finished in bottom 10 in the league. Edmonton had a slow start and Vegas was limping all year.
To think this team is a real contender is delusional, they are tough to play against sure, I like Tocchet, but trading away assets during a 10 year retool instead of doing a real rebuild is retarded.

Elias did not impress me during the regular season as a goal scorer and all of his goals in the playoffs were gritty garbage types. I think Jake will thrive as a goal scorer playing with Pete.
If you’ve never seen Pettersson score a pretty goal you must not be paying much attention. He’s scored a lot more goals than DeBrusk and it’s not like he has a muffin; he won the hardest shot competition before.
Debrusk doesn't need to be better than Lindholm, he just needs to be better than Mikheyev.
Sherwood needs to be matter than Mikheyev
